My FH actually is getting into this show with me, last year he hated it. Last week he totally called the Duchess/Lord thing. I told him no way, well he was right!!! I love Chuck- best character on the show b/c he is jerk but you just never know what he is gonna do. They also need to do something with Jenny's character. Mindless TV is great at the end of a long day.

We are also giving my parents a digital frame with all the wedding pics in it. FH's father will get a nice framed picture of us after the wedding.

We are getting married at Couples Swept Away in Jamaica. We picked this resort b/c: -we wanted a destination beach wedding -FH loved Jamaica -friend gave us an awesome review of Swept Away -easy to be legally married there

Family issues are a large source of stress for all of us whether our own, FIL's, children, ect. It's nice to have all these objective people to go to for advice and support. Just a thought...

I love them! I have pieces of sea glass I used to find as a kid. I still look when I am on the beach put thankfully no ocean dumping put an end to that! Very creative theme, just pretty!

I just got the call from the bridal shop. I can't wait I haven't seen it since I ordered it in February. My first fitting is October 4th! Yippie!

Hi Jocy! I have been to the Iberostar Domnicana last October for vacation/location hunting with FH. It was beautiful. My parents had gone the previous year and stayed at the Iberostar Bavaro. The appeal here is the 3 in one resorts so your sister could stay at one of the other 2 that she had not, they are all a little different. If she liked it I'm sure she would be happy to stay there again. One thing to note though, the Bavaro is the "nicer resort" if you stay there you can use the facilites of all 3. If you stay in the other two you cannot use the Bavaro's facilites. Bavaro has room service, a swim up bar, top shelf liquor, and better food. If we went back we would have stayed there for those ammenities. I will say the service was great everywhere and the entertainment is excellent. We did not decide to get married there b/c we felt there was a big communication barrier with the wedding coordinator we met with, she was a little rude and didn't seam to care. I know they have a high turnover rate so maybe the new one is better. I don't know how many people you are thinking of having but we new we would have a large group and the Punta Cana airport was horrible to navigate with people grabbing your bags and such. FH and I are experienced travelers but others would have had their luggage disappear in a heartbeat! Overall the location was great and I would say if you have a big group check out other resorts in the DR and contact their wedding coordinators. Several friends have stayed at Excellence Punta Cana and had a wonderful experience, also the RIU. Hope this helps!

Hi Sunsetbride1! I see you are from Madison,NJ. I am from Clinton, NJ and my FH works in Madison. I am struggling with the same issues as you. We are having a 2 hour cocktail party following the ceremony we plan on having our 1st dance, parent dances, toasts, and cake cutting then. This will be our only private time with our guests as our dinner will be at the resort's beach party. When I tell people this they seam confused. I think weddings are just so routine up here that anything different scares people. The way I see it is I didn't want a "traditional" wedding so we can do things in any order we want. I don't know about you but none of my 43 guests have ever been to a destination wedding. If you want to dance on the beach, why not?

Our plans are as follows: Tuesday: we arrive w/some guests Weds: most guests arrive Thursday: Final guests arrive, welcome dinner 6pm off resort Friday: the big day! 4pm ceremony followed by 2hr cocktail party, then dinner and show with everyone at resort's Beach Party, onto late night drinks/dancing Saturday: we are going on resort's catamaran cruise all are invited who want to come Sunday: some guests leave Monday: most guests leave Tuesday: we leave with rest of guests I also did not want to plan too much, we have guests in 3 resorts and different ages. Hi! I just read all these post and I see there are many of us out there with the "big" issue. While I am overall happy with my chest it is frustrating in these situations. My dress is being custom made for me and the designer took my measurements to build a bra in. When I tried the sample on I tried it with a bustier. It looked nice but I agree about the heat. My dress will be here next month and I am going to try without. Several people mentioned the boning/tighter dress for support I know this has worked for me in the past. Even more than the dress issue I dread a week on the beach/pool with bikinis that can't support! Most of my friends have implants so even though they are large on top everything is perky! Anyone else have that issue?

Thank you everyone for the compliments. My local stationary woman helped me pick them colors and all. The brand is Checkerboard though. The teal is my wedding color and the brown looked like sand with the irredesant paper so i loved it. She also did our engagement party and save the date invites.

So I had my shower a little over a week ago and I cleaned up! I can't believe how much people gave, most people gave multiple gifts! I registered at Fortunoff, William Sonoma and Bed Bath and Beyond and got almost everything as well as gift cards. It was such a fun day even with a hurricane! We had brunch at a resturant right on the water with about 40 ladies. I will post pictures soon! My girls went all out.

Ugh! I have been off the boards for the last 2 weeks dealing with massive family issues and saw this on the Couples board today! I contracted in April, I even emailed my WC and the stateside concierge to let them know. Well the deadline to fax the contract is Monday and I just did it but I am franticlly waiting for a reply. They didn't even contact me to let me know. Just a freak chance I saw it today! Total lack of service. It's like they don't tell you anything until it's too late. Same thing with the no private receptions on Fridays, didn't tell me until after I booked. While the resort looks beautiful I would have picked another to have a private dinner, instead of the beach party with everyone else in the resort. I am afraid to even know what else has changed. I am already having enough stress as FH and I now have to figure out how to pay for the whole wedding unexpectedly in 3 months since my parents backed out last week. I can't take it!!!

I am also walking to Over the Rainbow (very islandy) then we will walk back down the isle to Is this Love (Bob Marley) For when we have our sand ceremony/sign the licence I am surprising FH by playing Trapped by Bruce Springsteen (I'm from NJ so a huge fan and it will give everyone a good laugh!)

Our's is Ever the Same by Rob Thomas. We are both huge fans!

Jennifer, your review was very reassuring to me. We are having our Dec. 5th ceremony there and I was wondering if you could give me some detail on the Beach Party. After our 2 hour private cocktail party this is what we are doing for our reception with our guest appx. 45 of us. How was the food/choices? Also the show? Thanks!
