  1. Sign: Pisces (February 19-March 20) Personality traits: Patient, perceptive and shy. Bridal pro: There’s nothing better than a patient bride—which is what you are. Chaotic occasions may arise but your calming attitude will allow you to not get caught up in the wedding frenzy. Bridal con: Your shy personality may get in the way of having things done in a certain way. Don’t let anybody push you around. Speak up on what you like and don’t like and you’ll enjoy your W-day to the fullest. [/color] Oh, yup been letting myself get pushed around by everyone from day one...
  2. Hi Indigo! I think this site has memorial candles and vases: Personalized Memorial Candles and Vases - Exclusively Weddings Hope this helps. You are in my thoughts.
  3. I am a Jamaica bride also. Couples Swept Away on 12/5/08. Like Erin we have singles coming and pairing up. In looking back though I think it would have been easier to organize a wedding at a noncouples resort. But I am big on the adult only part! Let me know if you have any questions and I will post plenty of pics after the wedding.
  4. Cherielee, I own several of these exact ornaments. My tree is always beach theme and I buy ornaments everywhere I go. One I know I got on a Carnival cruise and another I think in a christmas store in Mrytle beach. Neither of those helps but you could totally make these! I was in Michael's Crafts last week and they sell the clear balls in every size, the top pulls off and you could buy the mini shells and sand there and fill them yourself. Put the top back on and hot glue. Add a ribbon if you like or personalize with a paint pen. This would be easy and cheap. Damn, had I thought of this before I would have done this as a favor! LOL!
  5. Oh, and December 2009 I will be going to fellow BDWer JennDavis' wedding in Mexico. Can't wait!
  6. So ladies, I'm 50 days away. I have started my teeth whiting. FH and I have gone back to the gym 4 days a week cardio and weight training. I have been using the Nivea anti-cellulite cream-don't know if it is working but it can't hurt! November I will start my tanning to get a nice even base. I always take a multi-vitamin and I'm really trying with the water, that is hard for me. My hair is a whole other issue for me. It is naturally curley and long. I had a hair style tried but now I'm thinking I want something else. Overall my hair just doesn't feel healthy. I haven't colored in years I condition, it's just not enough. Any suggestions? Frizz is a big issue for me.
  7. OMG 50 days left for me! I can't believe it. I got a few more things done. Schedule a makeup trial at MAC, ordered gifts for our godparents, had my first fitting, and paid for the rooms and more of the photographer. How is everyone else doing? I'm still waiting on like 50 RSVPS but they have till 11/1.
  8. I'm not freaked about changing my last name but everyone else is...Ha! Ha! I'm going from Fico (4 letters) to Liberatoscioli (14 letters) my coworkers, friends, even family are like can we still use Fico? I'm cool with my new name b/c it goes good with my first name. For sure our kids are getting short first names! Lol!
  9. Danielle, do you know your cousins first names? I don't think it is a common name atleast not in this country. But my FH's father is 1 of 6 kids and there are like 40+ people in the family so I might know them. That would be funny.
  10. Does anyone have a blue or clear starfish I can use for my December 5th wedding? I return on the 9th and could send it off the next day if needed. This would take care of my something borrowed too!
  11. If so, where? I'll go first. Yes, Las Vegas as a guy I was datings date. His brother got married.
  12. Hi Ladies! So I have read many posts of what people would or wouldn't do again but how about what items are a must for a DW? Guestbooks, centerpieces, menus, programs, chair ties? I'm looking for the items that really make it special vs the ones that are not needed. Thanks!

  14. Hmm, mine wasn't awful but not that close either. Can you say polar opposites? Unfortunately she passed away in March so we'll never know if things would have gotten better after the wedding.
  15. Hi Danielle! I love the Melting Pot! FH and I went there for V-day a few years back. He didn't like having to cook his own food, guys are soo impatient! But I loved it, like you said the dessert rocks. Looks like you had a great time, congrats!
  16. Hi Katrina! Your pics are beautiful, congratulations! I was wondering what kind of flowers you have in your bouquets? I need a nice orange flower for a memorial vase on our wedding day.
  17. Amarillis-thank you for my Fish! It made me smile cause I am Pisces and I love fishies. I even have a fish tattoo on my foot!
  18. Ok ladies, I need some serious advice today. I got a call from brother today saying he still wants to come to wedding and is trying to figure things out and can he bring his girlfriend. I was like ok if he can make it. Well I got off the phone and said wait, he has no job, no money, ect. how is affording to come? I know he still has his plane ticket that my parents paid for but we canceled his room when he was removed from the wedding party. Well I called my mom and asked and as I suspected my Dad said he would pay for it! Well now I am fuming, after all this fighting he is coming with a guest, paid for by my parents and yet we are still having to figure out how to come up with $15,000 to pay for this wedding. Again he couldn't get it together to be in the bridal party but can come all expense paid. I mean this is the same crap that started all this! So I told my mom and Dad that I am coming over after work to talk to them about this. I need to know exactly what to say to my Dad. Please help!
  19. Wow, good thread. First off let me say both you ladies are very lucky. You never here people say that they love their inlaws! As for me a more complex situation. My FMIL and I were never close, she never worked in life, sat in recliner all day. She didn't take care of herself or her family or her home. She also caused major hostility between FBIL's fiance and me from day one. She was the type to always gossip about people. I work full time, take major pride in my house, love to cook and try to be healthy. I always tried with her but she wanted to be BS'd and that is just not me. She passed away in March. FH and her were never close so ends that story. FFIL and I always got along great, I respected him and he returned it, we joked a lot and could really talk. He is a difficult person cause he is from Italy and is totally old school in everything he does. But regardless him and I bonded. When FMIL got sick and went into hospice care he got mad a me for not quitting my new job and moving in with them like FBIL's fiance and all the kids did. Long story short our relationship has and never will be the same. I always thought I would be so close with my Inlaws just didn't work out and I am sad for that. Future siblings are a whole other thread, see my "wedding blues" thread for the whole story there. I wish I had just a little of what you guys have...
  20. Hi Everyone! I thought I would post this here in case anyone is thinking about Jamaica but has not picked a resort. My Photographer Paula from Sungold and I were chatting about Couples changing their policy for allowing outside photographers. We both feel it is disappointing to many would be Couples brides. (Luckily I got grandfathered in) Hence she gave me names of great resorts for weddings in Jamiaca. Here is what she had to say: "Thanks so much and do me a favor, spread the word about these resorts. Moon Dance Resorts - Negril, Jamaica Rockhouse Hotel/Restaurant Coyaba Resort Jamaica Round Hill Hotel and Villas Resort, Jamaica Holiday Resorts Jamaica, Jamaica Holiday Resorts, Holiday Resorts Jamaica, Tryall Club resort Jamaica Montego Bay Jamaica Resorts & All-Inclusive Beach Hotels - Rose Hall Resort & Spa I know most people know about Sandals, and Couples resorts, and not many know about the above mentioned. But they are absolutely stunning for weddings." Thought it may be helpful. Also, so far Sungold has been wonderful and I will place a review for them after my wedding. I got their name from a former BDW bride who had awesome pics!
  21. Awwh, that looks awesome! I love the wigs! How fun!
  22. Good thread! We have cut back on eating out, down to bagels and coffee out on Sundays before grocery shopping. As far as groceries we cut our bill in half, I love to cook so I have been planning my menus around what is on sale. We consolidate driving as much as possible to save gas. No AC or heat in the last month are bill will be really small. No shopping for "fun" stuff, clothes, house stuff, ect. P.S. Christy-I am in LOVE with your dog! Siberian Huskies are my absolute favorite, I want one so bad!!!
  23. Oh fun! -USA -Canada -Mexico -Bahamas -Turks & Caicos -Puerto Rico -USVI Booked: -Jamaica -Bora Bora/Tahiti
