  1. RyanAmanda, at this point, I'd start harassing them with phone calls! Well, not really harassing, but phone them! Just call the number on the website (52984 8755000). I think that you dial 011 52 to get Mexico from Canada. Ask to speak to Paloma. Thats what I did when I wanted to see if they had my date available and I spoke to Paloma's assistant. I called so many times until I finally got to speak to Paloma herself! And with regards to the spa, why don't you phone back after you've finished with Paloma and speak to the spa yourself? Also, from what other people have said on here, they have thought that everything was disorganized, but everything turned out perfectly on their wedding day. Just remember, that is all they (Jazmin and Paloma) do. They make wedding days perfect!
  2. Ok. Thanks! What do you mean by way off? Bigger than advertised or smaller? Thats where I'm thinking of ordering from - I'm just waiting until the beginning of November because apparently thats when they will have more natural cotton colour!
  3. I work for a different airline and often we get requests for hanging wedding dresses (on sun destination flights). If we have the closet space, it isn't a problem. But the number and size of closets depends on the plane (and in this day and age a lot of airlines are taking out closets and putting in more seats!). Definitely be prepared to put it in the overhead bin - maybe lie it flat on top of other people's luggage (so no one puts their stuff on top of your dress)! I really don't think that showing up early will make any difference to your ability to secure the closet - it will all be figured out upon boarding!
  4. Does anyone know anything about the non-woven totes on this site? I'm wondering if the material could be used with an iron-on transfer... In the photos the bags look a little shiny, though. I'm wondering if they would melt if you tried to iron something onto it...
  5. I would send another email to her and copy Paloma. Tell her that you really need these answers as you're leaving soon etc etc. I think that they're so busy that she all she would think about the second email is that it is a reminder that she needs to respond to you! I really doubt that she would be so mad that she would give you bad service... I'm sure that she's dealt with much pushier brides than you! Remember, you're the customer (and there's a tip in it for her if she does a good job - which I'm sure she's very aware of). You're bringing in a lot of business to their hotel and you deserve to be treated well... Good Luck! Let us know what happens.
  6. Wow! This is exactly what I was hoping was out there somewhere... This really narrows things down for those of us whose minds get boggled by too many choices! Plus there are a lot of suggestions of songs I never would have thought of. And I especially like that they suggested Sweet Child o'Mine by Guns and Roses for the Father/daughter dance! Tee hee. Somehow I just couldn't see my Dad and I dancing to that one! Although if we did, then at least I'd be laughing, not crying!!!

  8. If you still haven't bought your tags, I just bought the aforementioned pink, lime, hot pink and black ones at Bentley today. They're having a buy one get one half price sale right now. The sales girl didn't know when it would end. I bought a whole bunch. You have 2 months to return them in case you find something else! So it worked out to 2.25 each plus tax.
  9. I take Emergen-C in the morning after a big night out. We're going to include packets in our OOT bags. A box of 32 is around 8 or so dollars at Trader Joe's. The best remedy I've ever found, though, is Berocca from Australia. You just can't get it over here. There's something similar, but it has fake sugar in it which makes me feel worse. Emergen-C is a close second choice!!
  10. Hi! Does anyone have photos or links to photos of bouquet options? I've done a couple of searches on this thread, but can't seem to find anything... Or if you know the page on this thread can you please direct me to it (its a little too long now to go through every page!!)?
  11. So here's my question for everyone! Our ceremony is at 2, so will be over no later than 2:30. Our reception dinner is at 6. What can I do for the in between time? Anyone else encounter this problem or have a brilliant solution? Photos will take max 1 1/2 hours, right? That still leaves us with 2 hours. I really don't want to lose the momentum... I was thinking maybe a scavenger hunt, but maybe thats too childish. I wonder if dance lessons or something might work... Getting nervous!
  12. Ooh! I'm so glad I found this thread...It seems there is a thread for every stage of planning!! Seaprincess - I think our respective grooms are wearing the same outfits - you must have great taste... ha ha. I'm a little concerned about the amount of time between our ceremony, which begins at 2 pm (I've repeatedly tried to change this with our WC but to no avail) and our dinner which is scheduled to start at 6pm. I know we need a little time for photos in between, but we're talking, like, 3 1/2 hours. What do you think? I'm actually mainly worried about aprox 4 specific guests who tend to hit the sauce pretty hard being wasted for our dinner. My friends are saying that its not my problem, its the wasted people's problem, but the fact is with parents etc. being there, I just don't want to deal with this. Any ideas of how I can avoid this? I was trying to think of a group activity or something, but people I've run this by say no way. Help!!!
  13. That almost doesn't make sense! What happened to Akumal? This is a stinky new policy that I don't like!!! How many a la carte restaurants does each individual "property" have? I thought it was two...
  14. Yes! I would love to know where you got your iron on transfers from! I've been trying to decide on a bag colour for what seems like forever now! From what you say, it sounds like if I go for brown bags, they will look amazing! Were the iron on transfers for dark expensive? With regards to cutting out non-coloured bits of the logo, I guess we can get around this by making sure the whole thing is coloured in, right? Thanks!
  15. Totally number 2. Its a flattering cut and will definitely hide tan lines. Also, its food-friendly - it looks like you could eat a big dinner and the gathering at the wasit would hide your food tummy!! I always think this is a huge bonus with any dress!!!
  16. This is part of the reason we went with the Bahia Principe Tulum. Their prices for the wedding packages are relatively low and there is no maximum of people. So we don't end up paying any extra per head cost, no matter how many people are coming. The only penalty (if you want to look at it like that - I sort of do!) is that if your group is bigger than 15, you have to choose a set menu for you dinner. If you don't want to do this, then you can start getting into their catered dinners which cost per head, on top of the wedding package cost. And even these aren't unreasonably priced. I think the cheapest one starts at around 20 per head.
  17. Thank you all! That helps! I think I'll go for the four hours. The last thing I want is to be stressed and rushed!
  18. Thats really weird JoLo! When I initially booked our wedding with Paloma, she told us that the only possible time for us was 2 pm. Since then mentioned getting a different time slot a couple of times, in emails, and Paloma has been very firm about us doing it at 2. Jazmin pretty much ignores my comments. Weird.
  19. Hi! Decisions decisions. How long did you hire your photographer for? We're thinking 3 hours is enough - we don't want photos of the reception. But now I'm wondering if that will be a bit rushed. Should we try for 4 hours? Also, realistically, how many photos will I need/want on my high resolution cd that is provided by the photographer? I have absolutely no idea about this (having never done it before!!) and would love some input!! Thanks!
  20. I've only just started looking! Our plan is to do the ceremony in bare feet, but we've bought our attendants' shoes (clark's brown flip flops for the girls and rockport slip on with toes showing, sort of woven brown leather for the guys). And we need back up shoes too. I actually found 3 good possibilities at Spring, you know, the cheap version of Aldo (I think!). I walked by the store the other day a whole bunch of times and finally thought I should just go look. Well to my surprise, I ended up buying 3 pairs of shoes! I need something that I can walk on the sand in and I'm thinking something different with a little heel for the reception - I need to be able to dance! This is the first time I've tried putting a photo in my post. Here goes... I just previewed my message and I obviously don't know what I'm doing. But you can go to the Spring website. They have tons of sandals! I'm deciding between the Manzanillo, the ardd and the Selwyna. /Users/meganandscott/Desktop/manzanillo_71_3.jpg/Users/meganandscott/Desktop/30_ardd_70_3.jpg/Users/meganandscott/Desktop/31_selwyna_70_3.jpg
  21. OK, not to throw Vanessa back into the mix, but we're booking with her! Her prices are very reasonable and she is totally willing to customize packages to go with what you want. Also, and I so completely respect her for this, she told me that the 3 1/2 package that she offers would be enough for me (we don't want pictures at the reception because we think that since most people will have cameras, we will get a lot of photos - and reception photos should be more candid anyway, at least in my opinion!). I guess I really like what I've seen of Vanessa's work and I like that she is both honest and flexible. Besides, we're saving our splurge money for our honeymoon - I think memories are worth way more than photos!!!
  22. Wow! Thanks so much for the info on where to find and how much it cost! Wow. Your guests must have been so pleased!! I love them! Wow! What a great idea the photo album is! You've motivated me to go shopping this weekend!!!
  23. Orchid - I was searching for something else, and I found this in my notes. "At the Gran Tortuga they have round and square tables (the round ones seat 6 the square ones seat 4)." Nothing regarding table decorations though! And who knows if this what they still have at that restaurant. I'd double check with Jazmin!
  24. We're getting there on a Sunday and the wedding is on the Friday, so lots of time to adjust, although you make a very good point! If I do a late dinner, I guess we could do coctails beforehand, but then where would we do the dancing? Then we'd have to rent out the nightclub? This is so confusing!!!
  25. I need help! I just got an email from Jazmin asking me "which cocktail party you have chosen". I'm guessing she means what times have we chosen? Are there different cocktail parties that they offer? Anyway, I guess its decision making time and i don't know what I want! Our ceremony is on the beach at 2pm. I was thinking about doing photos after and then dinner at 5:30. Is that too early? Then I was thinking cockail party after dinner. For 2 hours. But now I'm thinking maybe cocktail party before dinner? Help! Any suggestions? (Sorry for the typos - I'm at a hotel computer and there are people waiting so I'm trying to be really really fast!!!) Also I had asked Jazmin about the possibility of switching to mixed grill for the dinner, but apparently the other couple from our day has already chosen that. Do they have two different locations? Will they have to coordinate our two different events on the same night at the same location? I'm sort fo freaking out...
