  1. Does anyone know what the resorts' policy is on guests who aren't staying at Tulum eating at a Tulum a la carte? Either guests staying at Coba or Akumal or wedding guests who aren't staying at the Bahia Principe and who are buying a day pass.
  2. I know! The Mayan ceremony looks really cool, but I'm wondering if they can deluxe-ify it! (Sort of like super-size!) I mean add on the flowers and wedding cake and sparkling wine. I'm planning to get married on the Tulum side too. Like I said, I only just spoke to Paloma today and that is what she sent me. I haven't even booked my packages yet. But I did tell her Tulum, so I'd assume all these are available...
  3. I just got off the phone with Paloma. I had emailed her a bunch of times and received no response so I thought I'd try the phone. It took quite a few tries to get her. Anyway, she emailed me package info for 2008/2009 which I think must have just come out because I haven't seen these prices before. Or the Mayan ceremony option which sort of looks cool. 4. Oh, I was just looking at the Bahia Gourmet link and there is a Mexican restaurant on the Coba side. Does anyone know about this one? Was I reading somewhere that if you're staying at Coba you can eat at any Tulum or Akumal restaurant? Does anyone know the ceremony sites for Coba?
  5. RyanAmanda- Just out of curiosity, did Air Canada match Sunwing's prices? Are all your guests going from Vancouver?
  6. Whew! I just caught up to the last post. Only took me two days! When I started I was not sure about which resort. I think we've narrowed it down to Bahia Principe (I really like Akumal, but I LOVE Mexican food and it is really important to me to have it at the reception dinner, so Tulum it would have to be!). All your comments and photos have pretty much sealed the deal! I'm just going to look quickly into Palladium and Grand Riviera Princess. Before I decide, I wanted to see if BP have my range of dates open. I've emailed the wedding coordinators twice now, but no response. It just sort of seems silly to make a commitment to a resort if there is a possibility they may not be able to accommodate your date and time. Weird, eh? I guess I'll try again? Has this happened to anyone where they booked the resort only to find out their date or dates weren't available? (We're shooting for week of Jan 24 '09)
  7. Thank you guys! is bad that I'm a lurker? I just thought I should read everything before I ask questions so I don't repeat anything!
  8. Hello! I'm new here, obviously! I am so relieved to have found this site! This is exactly what I need... We're from Vancouver, BC. Our wedding will be in the Mayan Riviera the week of Jan 24 or 25 2009. It seemed so far off just a few months ago and now I'm freaking out! I'm trying to find the best deal at a nice resort. So far the ones in my budget (or rather what I'm assuming is my guests' budgets) are the Bahia Principe ones and the Gran Riviera Princess (but am not too impressed with their reviews on Tripadvisor!). I'm waiting for a quote on the Palladium resorts. Anyhoo, hi!
