Kevsgirl- Have you tried to order? I was so excited to order some super cute fans with our names and wedding date on them as well as matchbooks and travel candles. I had the address of a friend's mother's cabin in the US because they won't ship to Canada. Then I tried to order them and got some really bad news. They won't even let you order unless you have a US credit card! I phoned them because this seems like a really archaic and stupid policy. They won't bend on this one. Anyway - hopefully you know someone in the states who has a credit card and shipping address you can use!!

Hi! We're using Vanessa Vargas - we found out about her here on the forum. I love her style and she is fairly inexpensive. Check out her website Vanessa Vargas Photography She is also flexible and will make changes to her already existing packages. To cut down on our costs, we decided to only hire her for 3 1/2 hours - she won't be at the reception, but we figured that a lot of guests will be taking their own photos that we will be able to get copies of. Yes! I got her email last night. I guess she's been travelling around! Thank you so much for doing that - I really appreciate it! Luckily she still has my date open! And she's open to modifying a package!! I love it when things work out!!!

I posted this question somewhere else before I found this thread! Has anyone done a light coloured transfer onto a dark coloured bag? Should I even bother trying this? How hard do you think it would be?

I'm thinking of getting brown bags and ironing on our "logo" in a turquoise colour. Has anyone else tried putting a lighter colour on a darker one? Is this maybe a bad idea?

We chose the Bahia Principe Tulum, partially because of the size of the resort (people can choose to hang out together or apart) and the cost of the actual wedding is incredibly reasonable! The other resorts that were on our short list were Iberostar Paraiso Lindo (ended up being outside of our budget - maybe it would fit yours though) and the Occidental Grand Xcaret (then only have a man made beach and we wanted to get married on the sand). We stayed there last year and had a wonderful time. Good luck in your choosing!!

Ok. I thought I was all set on having a meal in the Mexican restaurant with drinks by the pool after. Now after seeing RyanAmanda's photos of the mixed grill, I'm wavering. It looked really great! And I guess this way your guests can eat what they want (as opposed to the restaurant where if you have over 15 people you can only choose one set menu). Oh. I'm so confused! RyanAmanda - did Jazmin send you a list of what was being served in the mixed grill? Because it looked like there were quite a lot of options...

Does anyone know anything about the folks at Cancun Studios? They have one package that is quite cheap (650 for 2 hours). I know cheaper doesn't mean better but being on a budget ... I'm trying to decide between them and someone from Claudia's team (she's not available). I've looked at some sample photos on their website and they don't look bad!

Does anyone have a timeline that worked for them? Or does the WC figure all that out? Our ceremony is booked for 2pm and we would like to have the poolside cocktail reception after dinner. So I'm thinking 5:30 for dinner (our options are 5, 5:30 or 9 or 9:30 or something like that). Is 5:30 too early to eat? It seems a little early to me, but 9 seems way too late because what would we do for the long in-between time? So 5:30 for dinner and then a 2 hour poolside reception after that and then people can go do the disco after if they want. What do you think?

Martha- Why don't you phone and speak to Paloma? See what she can do for you? I called and spoke to her a few weeks ago and she was really helpful once I had her on the phone. It took me about 7 tries through the day but I just kept trying and eventually I got to speak to her. That way you can sort of force her to come up with something (as opposed to email where she can sort of avoid some of your questions). I think its worth a try...

I'm a Flight Attendant for another airline and people often (well, not all the time, but I probably see an average of about 6 per month) bring their own pillow. Plus their carry on. I really can't see it being a problem, especially if you explain that you have a bad back and that you really need it! Have you thought about getting a note from your Doctor saying that you have to have it? Then if anyone hassles you at least you have something sort of official!

We're paying 1830 +/- a couple of dollars, taxes in. We're going from Vancouver, Edmonton and Saskatoon at the end of January.

I got lazy and did them in 2 groups. One for singles saying you and a guest are invited and one for couples saying you two are invited. I was worried that people would think it was too informal or just plain weird to do evites. Funnily enough, I've had a couple compliments on how environmentally responsible we're being!

Ok, so I wasn't going crazy! I will avoid trying to get on the waitlist for a Thursday wedding! With regards to the set menu, Jazmin sent me a menu for the Tequila restaurant - JustMartha I can send it along to you if you want - I'm not sure if it is the same as on BahiaGourmet. Also, does anyone know how flexible they are with the set menu? We have a couple of vegetarians coming and some people who will only eat fish (no other meat) and then some who love their meat. I really really don't want to have to decide for all of them!!

I've done so much research I guess I don't remember where I saw what. Must start taking notes!!

No. I just don't really know what I'm doing and I was going to try to save up my questions and send them all in one email. But now that you mention it, I guess I really should email her and ask. Its just so like pulling teeth trying to get a response, I guess I'm trying to save myself the frustration!!

Hello! I remember reading a while back about someone having trouble renting the disco for their reception as there is a fiesta of some sort around that area on Fridays or Thursdays. I've tried searching this thread and I can't find the post... Does anyone know what I'm talking about? We have our date confirmed - Friday - and I'm just wondering if it will be a problem getting everyone into the disco after the reception? That being said, I'm also sort of second guessing myself about the Friday wedding. Some of our guests' flight out is on Saturday around noon, so they will have to get up early. We had hoped for Thursday, but they are booked already. They do have a spot Wed, but they can't guarantee me the Tequila restaurant (I love Mexican food so much and I can't imagine going all the way to Mexico for my wedding and then not even eating the food at my reception!). I'm not sure what to do! Any thoughts?

Hello! We're planning a week long wedding event (just to give some background!)... So we've done the email save the dates, have a wedding website and have emailed out notes and links to the website each time we've changed some details. Now the deposits are due by July 11 (*so* quickly approaching!!). We've decided to do e-vites, but I'm not sure how I can personalize them, ie, make it clear who is actually invited (eg. Tina Smith plus guest or Tom and Tina Smith (no kids...)) Has anyone done personalized e-vites? I've been searching the web and it seems that most go out as a bulk email which seems sort of impersonal. I just don't have a lot of time left... Any advice or suggestions? Or am I going to have to do the evites one by one?
