Hiya! I think you can book the appointment when you get there. Or about 1-2 months beforehand you can get in touch with your WC (mine is Valeria but I've heard of others having Chandlyn) and ask them about a hair appointment. I have a list of prices from the spa but it's on my home computer. If I get home early enough (yes I'm still at work and not liking it) then I will post it for you. I am getting married at 11am so I am going to request a 9am appointment. If you are only getting the standard pics taken before the ceremony then I think 2 hours is good..or maybe 3..I just don't want to have to get my hair done and have to wait that long..just in case I mess it up lol Let me know if you want the price list!

Brides without travel agent?
Ellipse22 replied to RastaBride's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I have a TA but only use her to book our trip. We only have a total of 6 people going (including the 2 of us) so I only talk to her when paying for my trip lol -
I don't have pics..yet..but FI is wearing a light blue dress shirt (from RW & Co) and a diamond white tux jacket & pants. Best Man is wearing the same blue shirt and white linen pants - or something like that lol

Our entire wedding party has dumped us :o(

I can totally understand how you feel! It's funny that I am reading this post because I was just in the midst of feeling sorry for myself about the fact that I only have 6 people in total coming - including me and FI. I think you should say screw it and GO! Forget them! I can understand it may be expensive and some people can't come and shit happens...but if I were you I would go! Do it for you & your man! -
Welcome & Congrats! Be sure to stop by the Jamaica board and post under the ROR Brides thread..I can add you to the list

I love the rose petal look too! Where are you getting married Ellie? Beach/Gazebo or Lagoon Gazebo?

Also, get your feet checked out and get an xray to rule out stress fractures. Stress fractures in the tibia (shin bone) are common with increasing your activity quickly. You might need orthotics (custom arch supports) or try over the counter insoles such as Superfeet (found at REI and other sporting goods stores). Shin splints can be from overuse or overpowering of the muscles groups in your leg. Make sure you balance your exercises with calf exercises and exercises for the front of your legs. A good exercise to prevent shin splints is to lay in bed on your stomach and hang your feet just of the end of the bed. Pull your toes up(toward your head) against the mattress. This will strengthen your anterior muscles (shin) but only do this one the shin splints feel better or it will aggravate it more). Good luck and keep exercising! Try swimming or biking or elliptical to keep the inches off. Hiya!! I have orthotics and they don't see to do much for me. I will keep the shin exercise in mind. I am going to look into swimming as well - I have a rec center right across the street from me!

I tried last night and it seemed to help a bit..at least I was able to sleep some. I also did some cold packs to see if that would help. I'm personally not a pill person so I havn't tried advil yet. I have an appointment next wednesday. I'll continue icing etc. and I think I'm going to try to do a few exercises to see what happens. No jump rope though

Not a problem...going to do it now
-
Thanks everyone!!! The weird thing is that it doesn't hurt when I jump rope..which is why I'm thinking maybe it's not shin splints..but if I do a lunge or try to take off my shoe with my other foot it kills! I will be sure to look into the massage, xrays and I'll take some advil & ice my legs for starters. Maybe I can convince Jeff to help out!

I think my biggest concern is that it's painful. I can take it but it also prevents me from exercising at all...which is a bigger pain for me! I don't want to lose all the effort I put in! I'm going to keep trying..but in moderation and make sure I stretch. I'll also stay away from hard floors
-
Thanks ladies! I did physiotherapy a year ago for bad knees...I'm guessing they are still bad. I have an appointment next Wed. and I think I am going to deman a xray since she didn't do one last year. Just to be safe! It's my ankles too which is part of the problem. I'll figure it out! Thanks for listening to me!

Thank you for the info! I will be taking it to the doctors to see what she says! I'm trying really hard to stay motivated and stay healthy! Thanks!! P.S. Thanks Danielle for the flowers

**Update** Well after waiting forever to see my doctor my pain has not gone away. I realized that perhaps it wasn't shin splints after all since I havn't really worked out in 3 weeks due to the pain. The pain is ongoing. It doesn't really go away at all. I am having difficulty sleeping, walking, sitting you name it. It appears as if I have the signs of early arthritis. I have an appointment schedule for the end of this month (I still don't understand why it takes so long to see a doctor) to discuss this further. She has given me a prescription for Arthotec - anti inflammatory - and when I spoke to the pharmacist it is identical to the meds I was on last year for the problems with my knees...and it didn't work then so I don't see how this will work now. Anyway..that's the update. I'm going to try working out again..perhaps some swimming this time too..and see how it goes on this medication. I'm also purchasing better shoes for while I am at work (Supervisor at Canada Post and I do alot of walking on a concrete floor in steel toe shoes) to see if it helps with the ankle support. Thanks for all the helpful hints! I will update when I know more! Tanya ************************************** OMG I am freaking out! Ok..maybe not that much but I'm in pain! I started an exercise plan to attempt to tone up & lose a bit of weight. I started with squats and lunges - I need to do these anyway to maintain my muscles around my knees since I have issues there - I also do crunches and work on my arms. I started out with no weights then up to 5lb weights. I then bought an exercise jump rope. I don't have a whole lot of extra cash right now since we are paying for our wedding ourselves and can't afford to get any type of exercise equipment. So, I do the jump rope. Started out for 10 minutes and got up to about 30 minutes daily. WELL!!! My legs are killing me - mostly my right leg - from my knee to my ankle and inbetween. It's crazy! I can't even run now and put any type of excessive pressure on my leg. My leg is constantly throbbing! I'm beginning to think it's shin splints but can't figure out why my ankles are killing me too! I don't know...guess I'll have to go to the doctor and see what they say but there goes my exercise plan. I've managed to lose 4" in a month and I don't want to stop but can't seem to do anything with the pain I am in. Talk about demotivating! I need to lost at least another 10" and another 9lbs and it's not happening and with this pain now it's doubtful I will be able to do much in the next little while! Anyone else experience this type of leg pain?!?! Thanks for reading my long whiney post!
