Barefoot sandals dilemna
alex replied to Kristy!'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I'm reviving this thread because I am bored out of my mind!!! (currently unemployed) so I am going to get the supplies I need & try to make some of these bad boys!! -
LOL glad we're all good & nobody is offended!! I think it depends on lifestyle too & location ALOT. Where I live, $100,000 could buy me an ENTIRE house, not only help pay a mortgage!!!!!!

There is usually a midnight buffet of pretty basic stuff (sandwiches, fruit & veggies, meat & cheese, etc) & I've thought they're all lovely! I honestly think the most expensive wedding I've ever been to cost $12,000 for 150 people with the big sit-down dinner included (mind you I live in Northern Ontario so prices are MUCH cheaper here) I think the wedding should reflect the couple. Most people I know are laid-back, easygoing, middle of the road people. Nobody is rich, nobody is close to rich lol My friend is trying to plan a big hoity-toity sounding wedding, but a few of her best friends have got together & reminded her that she doesn't have to try to impress anybody with her wedding & that it should be all about her & her FI. I don't mind people wanting to have an expensive or nice wedding. I just think it's insane to go over your means just to impress anyone. If you can afford it & it suits your personality & lifestyle - go for it! If it doesn't, then don't do it! Just my opinion. Hope I don't offend anyone!

Sears - Convertible Dress
alex replied to alex's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Grrrr I started getting annoyed because it was taking so long so I called Sears & the dress is backordered until the end of the month! I am impatiently waiting for it to come in still! -
Amazing website!! Thanks for sharing!

BDW Biggest Loser Season 2 Official CHAT thread...
alex replied to Alyssa's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Seems like everyone is having a pretty good first week! Keep up the great work ladies!! I think that as much as we all want to get big numbers (well, small numbers on the scale... you know what I mean!) there are better ways of gauging your progress during the competition. IMO, how your clothing fits, not being winded when doing physical activity & feeling good overall, are all great indicators of positive progress!! Don't get discouraged by numbers on the scale! Keep up the good work & you'll see results! -
I had an amazing workout yesterday. Mat switched his workout so come crazy football training one so he decided that I should try it yesterday (just for fun to switch things up!) & I'm hurtin today! Thankfully it's my off day from the gym!

It's a pretty blah day today. It's been raining on & off & it's kinda chilly. Definately the kind of day where you don't want to do much (which I definately haven't done! lol) Although I haven't been completely lazy, I did walk to Subway to get some lunch (which shouldn't count because Subway is only 4 blocks away! hehe) Grand Theft Auto 4: So I want to throw this game out the friggin window & run it over repeatedly with Mat's truck!!! He got it in the mail yesterday after having received it as a Christmas gift (pre-prdered of course) & now he's been playing it NON-STOP!! He played it for 3.5 hours today & then didn't have time to get me a coffee when he went out because he had to get to work! 3.5 hours on a video game & he couldn't find 1 minute to stop at Timmies... grrrrrr!! Men & their toys! Macisaak: SOOOO happy to find out that my baby cousin is back at home now after having surgery Monday night for Pyloric Stenosis. He's doing great & is eating well! I am so relieved & can't wait to send him the little gifts I ordered off etsy! Gym Yesterday: So Mat's new workout kicked my ass pretty bad yesterday! It's some football players training schedule & it's pretty hardcore!! Weights, abs, cardio & plyometrics! I was sweating up a storm by the end & felt like I was going to barf! I'm pretty sore today, but it feels great knowing that I'm sore from working out so hard. I don't always enjoy the workouts he gives me - but I LOVE that he mixes stuff up so much because he thinks of things I never would have done myself! Yay for my "personal trainer with benefits" Gym Bunnies: On the side note of the gym - I HATE GYM BUNNIES!!! They wear skimpy little spandex outfits, pretending to work out while they check out the guys! It's pretty bloody pathetic if you ask me, but the guys either enjoy it or completely ignore them. Silly little girlies. (worst part is that they're like 18 & the guys they're checking out are actually men & are at least 10 years older than them - BARF!) Eating Good: It's been a bit of a struggle, but I've been pulling it off! Meals are pretty easy since Mat eats well & there's always healthy choices in the house (tuna, chicken, fish, rice, etc.) It's snacktime that gets me! I LOVE chocolate & candy & sweets! Although when I went to Subway for lunch I didn't even look at the candy or chocolate (Subway is located in the Mac's corner store near my house) I can't believe I didn't even glance at the snacks! High five to me!! Whoohoo!! Here's my yummy dinner from last night, I probably should have only had 1 piece of fish but they were so thin & I was so hungry! hehe http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...e/101_0932.jpg Gym Shirts: I have the hardest time finding comfortable gym shirts. I'm have a somewhat bigger chest (34D) & find most shirts are pretty tight & uncomfortable. I also hate when a tshirt is tight in the stomach so when you bend over or move around you can just see every little bump. *shudder* Yuck!! So after lots of searching I went to Sears, not really expecting to find anything good, and found 2 shirts! Whoohoo! They're the exact same shirt just in different colours & are perfect! They're loose enough (maybe a bit too loose but I like them!) to wear with my tighter yoga pants without making me uncomfortable. Plus they have a great saying on the front! Great motivation to look down & see the saying & push myself to keep going!! http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...e/101_0931.jpg Biggest Loser: I'm down 4 pounds in the first week! YAY!!!

WHOOHOO!!!! I just got off the phone & Mac's on his way home!!!!!!!! He's eating well & seems very happy - kicking his legs & yapping up a storm! I am so relieved that everything went so smoothly!!!! Thanks for everyone's kind words & concern!

N.Y. man sues airline over flight spent on toilet

If this is a French-Canadian couple we're talking about & most of the guests are French-Canadian also then I think it might be a tradition/culturally accepted thing to do. I live in a smallish city (>50,000) & over half the population is French & I've seen this commonly done around here.

It's 60F right now here which is amazing because this is Northern Ontario we're talking about! lol Miserable looking rest of the week though - high 40's low 50's & lots of rain! (at least it's not snow!! this is a Northern Ontario motto after winter LOL)

Another great Dollarama find!!!!

LOL I'm on my way! I'm a pro stove-dragger now! When we first moved into this apartment (Mats brother owns the house) we did a bunch of work & the main thing was cutting out half the wall between the kitchen & living room. Well the stove used to be where the half-wall now is so although we had to move the stove across the room, Mat took his sweet-ass time moving the stove plug-in. So I had a good month of dragging the stove back & forth for cooking! (I was supposed to have slid something under it to slid it, but the stuff always came out! LOL OOPS!) -
Enjoy your time Carly!!! Can't wait to see pics when you get back!

Jeeze, I just teared up! Beautifully put-together!

You made me feel so good to see that! It was SO hard for me to say no to that chinese food - sounded sooooo tasty! But the dinner I made was actually really great! Threw in some lemon & garlic in the breading so it was pretty tasty! (if I do say so myself!) I think we're going to have the same thing for dinner tonight since there are leftovers. Hopefully my loving glow will help me look radiant no matter what! Anyway - I'm in pure motivation mode and I'm ready to do this. I think getting my dress helped! I'm ready to get rid of this extra baggage I've been carrying around! I think everyone wants to be the prettiest woman at their wedding for sure!! I think that the bride has been the most beautiful at any wedding I've been to (regardless of how pretty or skinny other guests may have been) but it's a good motivation to think about wanting to look your best on your special day! I used to eat all the time when I was actually thirsty. So if I feel hungry & I don't think I should be yet (like I have eaten recently) then I'll have some water first & then wait a bit. Another thing I learnt on that I Can Make You Thin thing I saw on TLC is that you should try to put your fork down between bites when you're eating ao you can register when you're hungry sooner. VERY hard to do, especially when you're busy! I pretty much let myself eat when I''m hungry. Even if I've just eaten & had some water & STILL feel hungry, I'll have some fruit or a yogurt cup or something. Don't deprive yourself! I know a few of us mentioned our before pics, but I haven't seen any yet! I've put mine up in my blog if anyone is interested. I'm going to try to keep posting my progress daily. (amongst other random things in my life!) It helps to see it all written down at the end of the day! Feel free to read along if you'd like! -
I'm happy today because I thought that I hadn't got a job & I got a call today saying they still haven't decided & I will hear back from them next Tuesday. Feels good to still be in the running!!

I've hit a tree.
alex replied to heather007's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Thank goodness you didn't literally hit a tree!!! (don't scare us like that!) I think the koozies are a great start. I just asked Mat for suggestions & he said that would be good enough for him lol I think that the keychains, especially beer opener keychains might be a good idea too. The water guns & water bombs would definately be used too! -
N.Y. man sues airline over flight spent on toilet
alex replied to Christine's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
WOW!! Almost hard to believe that actually happened, but on our flight to Cabo in January the jumpseats were direct;y in front of us & the attendants would not shut up about how uncomfortable they were.... -
I'm gonna have to agree with almost everyone & say I WANT THOSE SHOES!!!
