  1. Worst time of his life and he begged her to stop?...what did she do, have him tied up so he couldn't get away??...yikes! You're definitely a good sport, Nicole --- but, then again, it IS kind of funny!

I also know the artist who does those ferret pins -- her name is Peg Francisco, and she does great work. We actually commissioned her to make the AFA's logo into a pendant -- came out beautiful. We sell them to raise money for our ferret programs. Keep it up, ladies --- by the time you're finished you'll have hit on every ferret person I know in the ferret community..you guys are too funny!
  3. omg, I'm laughing so hard tears are streaming down my face...TOO FUNNY!!
  4. I've been looking at this same design, but didn't even want to pay the $1,700 that Blue Nile has it for, although I DO like the one Blue Nile has. You can try finding the hammered w/milgrain in palladium, which is a lot cheaper than platinum. Hammered Milgrain Palladium Wedding Band
  5. I have no idea what the "faded whitish marking" is on the ground of that parking space --- and I don't know about anyone else, but it's the FIRST thing I notice upon seeing a handicapped space is the BIG BRIGHT HANDICAPPED SYMBOL on the ground of parking space before i pull in --- THEN is when i look to the very front of the space to see the actual metal sign at the front of the parking space, indicating a handicapped parking space. I'd definitely contest this in court...who the heck looks 4 feet past the front of parking space to check for "handicapped parking signs" on the side of a building plus, I drive an SUV -- who's to say that far away sign on the building is even in your line of vision, depending on what you're driving and how tall/short you are? AND, even though the sign looks kind of clear in the pic, honestly, looking at that picture i'd be looking around to see WHAT that sign referred to, not even thinking it was for that parking space --- it's just too far away from that space to truly indicate IT as a handicapped space. Good luck!!
  6. Seems to me, if they were my kids, I'd rather have them home in their own beds rather than sleeping on the floor. If your brother has his kids for two weeks because the wife is on vacation or whatever, even if SHE owns the house solely, why can't he stay at HER house with them for those two weeks --- she HAS to know the bind he's in right now...sheeeeeeees, she needs to give the guy a break. Also, w/this house being her house solely -- if they're getting a divorce, he may want to look into if he's entitled to anything from her house...i.e., she may have owned it before they married, but he may be entitled to any increase in the value of the house from the time he married her 'til now -- of course, with the housing market these days, that might not be much, but you never know.
  7. wow, you look STUNNING in your gown -- absolutely love it!...also love the color and style of your bridesmaid dress...and your husband looks fantastic! The two of you look so happy -- simply beautiful!! Congratulations!! I agree -- would love to see more pics!
  8. I think 8:30 is just a tad early --- out of respect for neighbors, I'd say any time after 9 a.m.

I don't have to use "company" time! I don't have Office 2007, but I LOVE Publisher -- I use it all the time...mostly for my nonprofit work. I plan on using it for any STD's, invites, etc...it's sooooooooooo easy and fun to work with.
  10. awwww, I'm so sorry to hear this...I, too, know of someone who made the decision to amputate her dog's leg due to cancer. They're not sure if the cancer is localized, but they wanted to give her a chance -- she seems to be doing very well. What a wonderful person your sister is to give her little girl this chance...big hugs to Sadie -- she's precious!

CUTE story about how Nibblets hot his name, Morgan.!..and thanks for the vote of confidence. My first advice, Calia, would be to educate yourself on these little guys -- they definitely require a lot more care and time than most companion animals (for instance, they need at least 4 hours of out-of-cage play time a day -- with some of that time being spent with you -- they're very social animals) -- so you want to first make sure a ferret is the right pet for your family. If you do some research and decide a ferret is right for you, my second advice would be to look for a ferret shelter/rescue in your area ...ferret shelters/rescues are overburdened with ferrets who need loving forever homes. I'd be more than happy to help with you with any questions, concerns, or information you might need.

I "thought" there was kind of a "diamond district" in Philly, similar to what I've heard of in NY, but i'm not sure. I think you'll find that most if not all of the "chain jewelery stores" (Zales, Kay, etc.) are going to have mostly diamonds with " I " clarity..be it "I1", "I2", or "I3". AND, I don't think you'll find the cuts of the stones to be much better than "fair to good". Besides the fact that their prices are sooooooooooo inflated. While I know a few of the chain stores may carry better than "I" clarity, you're going to pay for it through them and get a lot less for your money than you would if you were to go with a private jeweler. I'd definitely seek out a jeweler other than one of the "chain stores" for better quality, selection, and value. BUT, I don't think you need a stone with a clarity of "VVS" -- yeah, I'd love to have that, too...but as someone else here mentioned, upgrading in clarity is more pricey than upgrading in "color". I think if you can find a stone that has a "very good" to "excellent" cut...with say color no lower than "H" to "J" (as someone else mentioned)...with even as low as an "SI1" to "SI2" clarity, you'd see a significant difference between that and most of the stuff you're seeing at Zales. I would have loved to have gotten an "SI1", but I just coudln't justify the hike in price -- and I have to say, I'm more than thrilled w/my ring -- the cut really helps with the sparkle you'll see, and I can't see anything in my stone w/the naked eye. One of the girls here sent you a chart a few posts ago to help show you the differences in clarity, color, etc...I think it'll really help you to see what everyone is saying.
  14. I don't know about prices either, but had to say your dress is GORGEOUS!!...and very flattering.

  16. My FI and I usually go over to my mom's for the day -- we'll buy annuals for her planters on her front porch and while I'm putting together the planters my FI works on cleaning out her flower beds. We usually get her a few new perennials and add those to her flower beds as well -- and we either buy her a hanging basket for the porch or I'll make one...of course, she'll clean out her own flower beds but she won't usually bother with the planters -- and secretly, I know she kind of enjoys us fussing over her for the day even though she'd never ask for help.
  17. If anyone likes/knows country music and has heard of Steve Holy (he sings "Brand New Girlfriend", "Good Morning Beautiful", etc.), I've met him a few times --- he's actually best friends with a very good friend of mine from Dallas, TX....Steve is a very sweet, very down to earth, humble guy --- excellent musician, entertainer, very very cute!!...and dripping with CHARISMA!..whoa! About 7 years ago when I met him for the first time at one of his shows, I was supposed to go to another show in York, PA the next weekend...I was sick that day and didn't make it -- when he got back home to Dallas and hooked up with my friend (whose name is also Steve), my friend asked him how the shows went...my friend said they went fine, "but where was Pen for the York show?"...my friend said he mentioned my name a few times that night at dinner, which he said was very unusual for him --- I was blown away...an opportunity missed?...maybe -- he's happily married now and they're expecting their first baby soon...great guy, and I'm so excited for them both!

I just wish our companion animals didn't have to suffer because of the throw-away society we've become. If not for this, people like Tammy and Cain wouldn't have to foster dogs from the shelters...we wouldn't have ferret shelters and rabbit shelters (and other small animals) overflowing at the seams with abandoned animals who are often times neglected and abused...it just saddens me so. Strange thing is, I never had animals growing up...but ever since we got our ferrets and our puppy, I've learned so much, and I've truly become affected.

I'm with FYB87 on this one...I could definitely continue the civil thing for social gatherings, but going to her place for parties and vice versa...naaaaaaaaaaa -- and no way he'd be going to her place and hanging out w/her for her Kentucky Derby party before I was there. You could be playing into her hand so she gets her way as far as hanging out with him when you're not around. I dunno -- just be careful of how much leeway you give. Again, I don't think he wants anything w/this girl, I just wouldn't give HER the satisfaction of being with him w/out you.

We have talked about fostering children in the future, but that is far in the future for us. Along the same lines as Tammy, we also volunteer to help the domestic ferret. While we don't foster as Tammy does (believe me, it takes a very, very special person to do what she and Cain do), we have given forever homes to ferrets that have been dumped or otherwise left behind. We volunteer a lot of our time with the AFA (American Ferret Association..yup, there's such an organization -- kind of like an AKC for ferrets). It's a nonprofit educational organization whose primary focus is to promote, protect, and provide for the domestic ferret. These little guys are such misunderstood companion animals and really need the ferret enthusiasts to look out for their well being.
  23. I had this about 10 years ago or so. My mom told me that BD made her do that when she was younger. I've never been on BC for more than maybe 4 years total in my life, and back then maybe 2 years straight. But yet, every time I'd go outside, even just to do gardening, it looked like I had a mustache from where the skin on my upper lip would tan more than the rest of me. I haven't been off BC for probably 9 years now, and I haven't had the problem since going off.

It was even the right size, will need a few alterations for the bust since I'm all 'smushed' in,and the waist needs to be taken up a bit because I have a short waist, but other than that...it works! Guess it was meant to be. My dress is a Mori Lee style #2812, was from their Spring 2007 collection, so that's why it was on sale. It's not very 'beachy' looking like I thought I wanted, but it's not super heavy either. It's a tadbit "poufy", but not too much. If I could figure out how to get the pic on here from the website I would but I must be a computer idiot about this because I've tried a ton of times with no luck. So, when I get a better pic of myself in it I will. stltk, I saw the picture of your gown on the "show us your dress" thread, and it's really beautiful!...I don't think I'm going to be able to go w/a strapless gown, and your gown looks like it would be very flattering in the top area for those who can't do strapless..just gorgeous!
  25. Your pictures are BEAUTIFUL, IslandLover! Thanks for sharing!...hmmmm, I didn't think I wanted to have an actual "beach wedding", but your pictures sure do make me start thinking. I just remembered I had a dream last night that we were in St. Thomas -- I assume for our wedding. Anyway, I was really bummed because St. Thomas was breathtaking in my dream, but we had left our camera home so I couldn't take pictures.
