  1. Here's a few: Him carrying me in the water: Something with a palm tree: Full length of both of us: I also had her take pics of each couple for my photo guestbook.

And we refused to give up our luggage until they got their stories straight and got us all on the same van like the piece of paper in his hand said. Unfortunately they don't seem to be bright enough to read the highlighted lines on their papers.
  4. If anyone had a bad experience with airport transfers or any other aspect of Lomas, please post here and send them an e-mail. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t24391

  9. We had one guy accuse us of lying, as well as vehicles we booked that never showed up. Equally as bad was the fishing trip we booked for the guys through Lomas. They took the boat out even though seas were WAY too rough, everyone got sick, they came back early because it was too rough to fish, and still charged FULL price!
  10. Oh wow, was I glad to have my AHR over. It was all going well and pretty much planning itself when AT THE WEDDING, my MIL decided that we just had to have a cake, don't worry about it, she would have her sister make it and she would pay for all the supplies. Big disaster, lots of fights, etc. Anyway, we had the world's ugliest cake, but it was tasty (no, I don't have pics - I couldn't bear to remember it!). I made the restaurant cut it up immediately. But yes, I'm glad it's over.

And post it here too, in case some of us miss it on the vs. thread.

Ok, I'm out then. I have a Mac. But let me know what you hear about Lomas.

I get too wrapped up in satisfying everyone! I am going to follow the wonderful tips you guys have offerred so far... Thanks a MILLION!! I wanted to pick the perfect resort, too. I would have preferred to go to one of the islands, but I knew more people would come if I had my wedding in Mexico. So, no, I didn't pick the perfect resort. I don't think there is one. But I had a blast, spent a great week with my husband, family, and friends, and got married! That's really all that matters!
  14. Yay Raychel! Everything looks great! I can't believe you leave so soon! Don't forget to bring pics back to post as soon as you get back!
  15. I don't know if this will help or make things worse, but there are a ton of pics on here taken by some fabulous photographers: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t4276 This can give you an idea as to how good the resorts can look. Just remember that Matt and Sol are quite possibly the best photographers in the Riviera Maya and can make ANY resort look good. Make a list of resorts in that area. Start out easy: mark out the ones that don't allow children and don't include anything that's not AI. This map http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2278 has a ton of the resorts listed (and is a great reference as to where they are in reference to each other). You also might contact a few of them to see if they even have your desired dates available. I had to cross several off my list because I was only a few months out and many of them had my date booked.
  16. I can't tell you about a limo, but I can tell you NOT to use Lomas travel (also used by FunJet). Just one of the MANY issues (and probably the smallest issue) with Lomas: my MIL booked a private car (and paid extra). When she arrived, they didn't have it, so they tried to send her on the van with everyone. She refused, so they ended up sending her and my SIL on a van by themselves. They never did get the beverages they paid for, they got to the hotel later than the main van, and the wouldn't refund any of her money.

  23. Ok, Drea, where did the "Head Elf" come from? I saw it and it didn't look weird to me, but I'm not sure why!

He thought they had decided on Honu (turtle in Hawaiian), but she went and changed it. She does not even call him Brent, which is a nice name, and instead calls him Kaimi, which sucks because we hate that name but he won't let us call him anything else. Oh my. Wow.
