We all know how weddings are, they come and go so fast, and sometimes you do not have time to visit with all of your guests. However, some people may choose the option to stay at a nearby resort for a variety of reasons. I would like to point out that in choosing this option, please explore the options heavily first. While it may look better financially, there will be the cost of travel between your hotel and the EDR both ways. As well, to be on the grounds of any All Incusive hotel, all guests entering a hotel they are not staying at are required to pay for a day pass. That also applies to EDR. So for each day you choose to visit with us at EDR, there is a day pass fee of ____$. If you are consideing choseing an alternate hotel, please speak to myself or ____ so we can help you weigh out your options. I do believe all guests who would stay at EDR will love it. In researching the different hotels in the Mayan, we felt confident that the rooms, reagrless of class, are all amazing and well appointed. We felt that there were many daily acaitivies to allow you to create the vacation you want , and we felt the abundance of restaruant and bar choices would suit everyones needs! Something like that ........................ That is awesome, very well stated! I may have to copy and paste that on my website if my guests start wanting to book elsewhere.

Polly-Are you feeling like you have an answer on your photographer issue? You are bringing someone in right? Weddingchick brought up a good point. Since the resort isn't open yet, they don't have any specifics on locations etc. They are based in Miami. I am just trying to hold tight on any actual planning until the resort is open, some site visits have been done and maybe even a wedding or so has been done. We have some time to work out the details, menus, dj, flowers etc. Hope that helps!

winwinbride- We are glad you found us! So far you will be our very first bride. Do you know when they are aiming to open- beginning, middle or end of October? manders- 31 people booked! That's awesome! So far we are the only 2, but I didn't feel like that counted. STD just went out this week, so we'll see.

Interesting issue...

Hopefully you're like any other man and just remember "something about it being a white dress". I agree with the others that on your wedding day, it will be different than seeing her in a picture. I don't want FI to even see pictures that I am considering. I want it to be a total surprise. -
We are in the same situation that Tami posted. FI travels for work, usually gone 3 or 4 days. We vacation a lot for fun, sometimes together, sometimes separate. He usually will travel internationally for 5-10 days where all we will have is a text message or email. I work 12 hour nights and sleep all day. We talk on the phone on my way to work. A lot of times, I don't have anything new to report, I just woke up! We pretty much spend the weekends doing things together. I think it makes a difference that we did long-distance for a year. It has taught us how to spend time together AND apart. It works for us, but I can see how it wouldn't work for others.

I think your plans sounds great....and time consuming. We did passport STD's. We probably included more information than what is typically on a STD, but a DW is so much different than a local wedding. The earlier the info, the better I think. In those is our website which has an RSVP feature. These are tentative until they book. Then I think we will do a boarding pass invite with a paper RSVP. Lastly, I think we will do some sort of newsletter towards the very end for all of those attending.

It took us a while to decide as well. Once you narrow it down to what country/island it gets easier. From there, read posts from brides getting married in that area. The forum is broken down into different section depending on location. Another thing that I did was to research the resorts on tripadvisor.com to get an idea of what the resort is like and if it has any repetitive issues in the travelers reviews. The travelers photos are helpful too to see what the resort is really like. Good luck and congratulations!

I just watched the rehearsal dinner episode with the birthday cake scene. I have only seen bits and pieces, but why are they getting married for the second time? I thought he was an idiot before for going through with marrying her, but now I think he's F-ing stupid! Also I wonder how much is played up for the show? Wouldn't it be funny if this was all an act and then she would have this huge acting career...

Monica, what city have you been shopping in? -
Since there are quite a few of us now, I created a roll call so we can keep up with everyones dates. It also would be fun to post site visits, I know how much we are all looking forward to those. If your name and date wasn't included, copy and paste, click reply and add your name and date. I'm so excited to see this list grow! Your pictures are awesome. Elizabeth does such a great job! Your wedding was beautiful and looked like so much fun! There is a pic in the TTD where you are standing on the rock, looks like a model shot for the dress. And that water that you two got in at the very end was so amazingly clear. Thanks for sharing!

I asked him about that after I copied and pasted from the contract, the website and the optional amenities page where is DOES NOT mention 3 night stay. This is what he replied with: Here's how it works, plain & simple: 1. If you select any of the photographer's listed on the following link Category Photography & Video - List of products - Welcome, Guest Weddings in Cancun & Riviera Maya you WILL NOT pay a $500 fee or require a 3 night stay at Azul. 2. If you DO NOT select a photographer from the website YOU WILL require a $500 fee OR a 3 night stay at Azul. 3. Any outside photographer OTHER THAN the listed in our website will be allowed for a $500 USD OR a 3 night stay at Azul (We have only banned "Del Sol Photography" from all our properties) I then said I still don't understand where you are getting $500 or 3 night stay since it is not mentioned in the contract, the website or amenities page? He didn't reply back, but I don't care since I have it in writing and will be paying $500. I encourage all brides to get their photography issues settled in writing. I don't understand why they make it so confusing and drawn out. I knew this going into choosing a Karisma resort and I have learned to pick my battles and back them up in writing I know that the end result of the wedding will be worth it. Pepper-You may bring in any photographer except Del Sol for $500. They are the only ones "unapproved" by the resort. So you can book your photographer, but somehow get in writing from one of the coordinators in case the policy changes again before the wedding. See above in blue, that is what Fabio responded to me.

Paying for Bridesmaids Trip
JHarwood2Be replied to ypc09's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We will not be paying for ours either. I plan on buying their dresses, a few small gifts and a spa certificate for at the resort. We haven't decided anything for the guys yet, but we'll think of something. -
I feel so isolated and depressed
JHarwood2Be replied to SgtPepperette's topic in Just venting or funnies
I'm so sorry that you are going through this. What you are feeling is normal! My mom and step-dad (basically my dad) were killed in a car accident almost 3 years ago. It has been a long, hard process for me. I remember not having any interest in anything for awhile. I didn't want to go anywhere, I had little to no interest as to what was going on in the world around me. It also put a strain on our relationship, but we got through it. I used to get upset with FI because he never would bring up my parents. He didn't want to make it worse, but I WANTED to talk about it. My friends were supportive, but also didn't know what to say. I ended up finding a therapist and just let it all out and worked through it a little at a time. I also started taking an anti-depressant and working out. It still is very hard, but I am finally enjoying the present again and looking forward to the future. Your FI means well. Make a list of things you used to do together and then make an attempt to get started again. I agree that men are "fixers" and he just probably doesn't know what to do for you right now. As for his friend, he might not be doing as well as you think. Men especially are good at playing it off. Hugs to you, we are ALWAYS here! -
I'm obsessed because after I catch up on the Unread Posts, I click it again and see what has been posted in the last 10-15 min. It's a vicious cycle!
