  2. Hi Melissa! If you decide to come to Mexico to get married...we'll see you here! :-) Best of luck and Welcome to the forum!
  3. Hi Kristin! Congratulations on your Puerto Vallarta wedding. You are going to have fun! Welcome to the forum and happy planning!
  4. In case you need a San Francisco photographer here is our story... My husband and I started doing Wedding Photography in the Bay Area about four years, since then we moved to my hubbie's home town in Guadalajara (really close to Puerto Vallarta) where we have kept going with the business for the last year. Since we have family at both ends (Mexico and the Bay Area) we shoot weddings at both places. Right now I am in the Bay Area (Santa Cruz) and Rigo (my husband) is in Mexico. I you need anything we may be able to help out! Check out our website!
  5. I agree with Tod that the reason why the resort would want a photographer of their own is for money reasons. They want to capture the revenue from it. Most of the resort photographers are so used to doing this at that particular venue and are so used to the venue squeezing out their profits that I don't see how most of the shots they get are a copy-paste version from all their weddings. That being said I think it makes total sense for a bride and groom to want to have the photographer with the style they want for what's going to be probably one of the most important moments in their life. Should the couple have the right to ask for a premium to be paid to bring an outside photographer? Has anybody asked for this to the Sandals people? On the other side I agree that a Bride and Groom photoshoot will be very nice to capture the beuty and feelings of them both.
  6. I totally agree with Mariesam. I have heard and seen way too many stories of friendships stressed out because a friend is asked to take the wedding pictures. And the sadest part is that at the end in most cases it leads to couples not having the photos they envisioned having of their wedding date. Most of us don't realize the responsibility the photographer carries to capture the best moments and emotions of your wedding. If you want beautiful pics, then it takes a trained professional to work all the time at your wedding. A burden some of us wouldn't like to put on any of our friends. Almost everywhere you go you will find photographers on the whole spectrum of prices (literally from $100 to $20,000). All you got to do is define your budget for photography and then start looking for photographers that fall within your range. If you don't find anybody that you like in that price range then it will tell you that you will have to raise your range/budget to get the results you want for your wedding. As a photographer I know many resources to find photographers all over the world in all the price ranges. If you are interested just PM me and I will provide you with links that will help you in your search.

    Hello!

Hi Cynthia! I believe some venues have a "Plan B" in case it rains. I believe Las Caletas has a covered area if it comes down to that. I would directly ask the coordinators to see how they habdle it. The good thing of this all is that you've com to the right place for answers! Welcome to the forum and happy planning!

  24. Hi Taylor! I guess one question that would help you is, what are your priorities? Do you want a place on the caribbean with blue water and powdery white sand? A place close to ruins? (Mayan area), do youy guests like fishing? (Cabo and Puerto Vallarta), attracted to any culture? (Cuba, Mexico, Jamaica) What kind of side activities do you see you and your guests doing while at your wedding location? Welcome aboard and happy planning!
