Pisces. I don't think you are being paranoid but I am finding out that the WC in Maui are in charge and take care of everything on your behalf. Since a friend recommended her, I would not worry.
  3. I love that resort! I was considering it too! where will your ceremony be? the pitons make are a fabulous backdrop.
  4. Danielle I am sure Palma Real would do it as well it is a beautiful resort. God luck!
  5. Jess If you cannot take sunset pics that day, maybe you can schedule a sunset session the following day...it happens all the time.
  6. Hawaiian bride When and where are you getting married? 3pm is not so bad it allows you time to have your pictures taken before sunset which is early.
  7. Why don't you sign the papers with the judges to make it legal @ 1pm and have a symbolic ceremony at a later time? I remember talking to my wedding coordinator @Excellence and she suggested doing the symbolic ceremony and the legal ceremony with the Judge at a different time. Don't know about the other resorts, but I know Excellence did not charge extra. It was just a courtesy because the judge had such a busy schedule.
  8. Humm...I forgot to mention there is a charge for the carriage but I think it's minimal and so worth it if you like it. Not to mention, it makes a beautiful decor for the pics.
  9. azhuskergirl Welcome new Maui bride :-) I was originally thinking of booking them but after looking at Gordon Nash's contract, it looks like there is no guarantee to have a specific photographer...am I reading it wrong? I can understand things happen beyond anyone's control but I do not like the close of "conflicting schedule" does that mean they could take the photographer you chose and replace him with someone else because the chosen photographer has a better booking. I really do not like that at all and for the price, I would like to have a guarantee and peace of mind the photographer I book is the one that chows up on my wedding day. Have you discussed that with them? just wondering...I would stil be interested but not signing the contract with that clause.
  10. Melia Caribe tropical has one. Here is a link to some pictures, I hope i is ok to post Melia Caribe Tropical, Dominican Republic, photo weddings
  11. I have been to Wailea Maui, hardly the rowdy crowd( the stretch of beach has only 5 star resorts) specially in the fall at 5pm. The sun sets pretty early and you may see couples watching the sunset but that's pretty much it. If you want a more secluded beach, there are quite a few, just ask your wedding coordinator.
  12. This is my second wedding, I already have done the "big one" .This time around it is all about "US". We are both very busy people and want to combine our wedding with our honeymoon without any distractions ;-)
  13. Hi..Welcome! Dreams Punta Cana seems to fit all you requirements Dreams Punta Cana Resorts & Spas: Unlimited-Luxury Defined
  14. Enjoy! I love going to Vegas...so much fun!!!! don't forget to see the Bellagio fountain show at night.
  15. Well I am figuring for the 2 of us getting married at the chapel @Grand Wailea with an upgrade photography package, accomodations for 1 week is about $10,000. But I am sure, when it is all set and done, it will be higher.
  16. He also has "Maui revealed" which I bought for our trip last year, it was very informative, it listed some of the waterfalls during the trip to Hana which were really not known except to the people whom we encountered and they all had his book. That was so funny, we joked about it. Also, once you have the book, you can check his website, just log in the code# which is listed in the book for additional information. I think his books are a must if you visit Hawaii.
  17. I was shocked when I read that "sharper image" were not honoring gift certificates which leaves thousands of customer with worthless pieces of papers. From what I understand, they are going through chapter 11 and it might be temporary...let's hope so The Sharper Image Not Honoring Gift Cards, Certificates - Boing Boing Gadgets
  18. I am sorry to hear that. I do not have a wedding party, actually, it is just the 2 of us this time around but my girlfriends are already planning a get together. You are absolutly right to let it go. It is not worth loosing sleep over it. Just think that in a couple months you will be married :-)
  19. WOW! this is a great thread! I have been looking at photographer's websites all day and these are very impressive. Gina ~ Great pics!
  20. I found this link from AA bridal accessories, AA Bridal Maybe it is not the the 2008 collection but 2007.
  21. BTW, I just noticed you were getting in Maui :-) me too!
  22. I think the dress looks great on you, and it's not too formal at all. GO for it!!
  23. We stayed at the Four Seasons 9 days last year in May and we saw a wedding almost every day. Most weddings were fairly large IMO (100+) for destination weddings. We did see a newlywed couple dining at Ferraros. It was just the 2 of them, they had gotten married somewhere else but had their dinner there. The nice thing about Maui is everywhere you go, you see at least a bride on a daily basis. It is truly still the most romantic place to get married. Originally, I wanted to get married in DR but realized, it might not be the best place for us at this time and since we love Maui so much we decided to get married at the Grand Wailea chapel instead, although, I am not found of the Grand Wailea hotel but we will only stay there only a couple days then go to to Kaanapali.
