  1. My TA is pretty good. I didn't know however that this was her first group account! She does anything I ask her, follows up on all of my questions. She had the marketiung department develop a cull color flyer and brochure for each potential guest will all pertinent info. She also has a spreadsheet of who has signed up to go that she shares regularly. I would definitely express your concerns to your agent. It is her job not yours to mail invoices, etc. Does this mean she also expects you to pay for all postage?
  2. I vote blue circle or green circle with palm, depending on what color your envelopes, etc. will be!
  3. I like them, simple and classy. What color is you backing paper and where did you buy it if you don't mind me asking? Our colors are Tiffany Blue (aqua) and Turquoise and it looks like what I need!
  4. Ok, so I'll be the first to request a template! I think they are great! You did an amazing job!
  5. We are all in the same boat. I was just having a pity party about the same things mentioned above! Ok, so I think I just need to vent, so bear with me! My fiance's brother is getting married 3 weeks before we are. I'm a little up-set because 1. My fiance is the oldest son 2. We were engaged 3 months before his brother 3. We have been together for 6 years compared to the 2 of his brother. So far I've heard comments about how expensive this is going to be for his family, like it's all my fault. Several family members have also said they can't afford to both weddings, especially since they are so close together, but they will go to his brother's wedding since it is first and they'll just see us there. (and they better have a big fat check!) His brother's fiancee also e-mailed me that she might not make it to our wedding beacuse it is so soon after her wedding and honeymoon and doesn't know how they can afford it. Why she is insisting that they take a honeymoon when our wedding is in JAMAICA 3 weeks later is still beyond me! They are going to the Bahamas for a week and will only be home 3 days before they leave again. I feel like I've bent over backwards being very upfront with his side of the family about our plans. We originally told people to plan $2000 per person and it's only $1500! I send regular e-mails to his mom and the future sister in law. Neither has shared any plans with me. I don't even know what their wedding colors are! And my FH is the best man so we are shelling out some major cash for their event. Beacuse our weddings are so close together I want us both to feel like we get to enjoy our special day, but I feel like I'm getting stuck with the left-overs! My biggest concern is that we have already made the reservations and are responsible for the total bill! If we don't use 75% of our reserved spots we pay for them anyway! I reserved that number based on all of the yeses we got but when it came time to pay, everyone bailed. Our 1st count of yeses was 80. Thank goodness I only reserved 40! I have to book 30 and am at 19! I am in favor of the traveling BDW wedding support group! Whew! I feel better now! Thanks for "listening"
  6. From what I remember David's Woman was the truest to size that I found, but not the company from whom I will buy the dress. Just focus on the dress and how it makes you feel!
  7. I just found a web-site for a Jamaican event planner/florist based in OR. I know most of us have on-site planners, but they have a great photo gallery! If you're anything like me I worry about what the standard is for a tropical wedding! Tropical Weddings Jamaica -Ocho Rios ~Montego Bay~ Cruiseship Weddings in Private Locations
  8. I agree with Lisa. I think tulle or a sheer fabric in your color would be nice. Let's see if I can manage to post two pics I found... ok, the answer to that was no
  9. Wedding dresses are TINY!!!!! Even more so if you are part of the busty girl club! I'm normally a 10-12 but will have to order a 20 to get the thing to zip all the way up. I say we unite and start a campaign to make it go the other way--the dress are 2 sizes too big! I'd much rather buy an 8 than a 20 and have 6 inches taken in, ya know?
  10. I have used Hydroxycut in the past and am currently using Lipodrene (yellow). It contains Hoodia which is a natural appetite suppresant. I would highly recommend starting with just half a pill a day at lunch, the one whole per day, and then 2 per day. The maximum allowance on the Lipodrene is 2 per day so I try to limit myself to 1 just to be safe. Also be sure to read the directions carefully to see when you are supposed to take them. These you take one hour after breakfast and lunch. I made the mistake of taking one whole pill before I ate and I thought I was on speed!
  11. Hi All! I'm wondering what you are spending on the welcome bags? I think our hotel will do them but they are about $50 each and that seems a little high, especially since they will be pretty generic. Thanks for sharing! *Sorry if this is elsewhere. My search page keeps coming up blank!*
  12. If you choose to register at Sears you could always just pick gift cards or maybe a few tools for Hubby. We are registered at Dillards and BB&B but are thinking of adding Home Depot. Gift cards will come in handy when we purchase our new home and they do sell appliances. On a side note...my dryer broke about a week ago and the repair man came out today to fix it. He said to only by Whirlpool W&D, dishwasher, and fridge. He said the GE break down a lot and are more costly to repair. (Just in case you were wondering!)

    Hi! I'm new!

Welcome to the forum! I wish I could have done a site visit!
  14. Paperandmore.com has the best pricing IMO. THe Lagoon color is the same as Envelopments Chrysophase. It is more of a green aqua. EnvelopeMall.com has Stardream Metallics in Aqua, but it is very light. They have awesome prices, but a limited selection when it comes to blues/greens. Beleize and Caspian are the colors you want to look for if you prefer a turquoise/tiffany color. I know they have it at Envelopme.com
  15. Congratulations and happy planning!
  16. Check out allrecipes.com. They have some great info and you can search for what you want. Most of the recipes are what I call "home-cooking" so they tend to be easier/cheaper/more familiar than some of the things on food network. There is also a nutritional breakdown for each recipe. 17. I do a similar drink. It's amazing what you can come up with digging thru the liquor cabinet! I add rum, ginger ale, some Rose's Lime Juice and garnish with fresh lime. It's nice and refreshing with the bubbles from the ginger ale.
  18. I think I like the white for a short dress. There is a company called Cheryl's. THey are kind of hard to find, but they are pagent shoes! When you think about it it makes sense that they are really comfortable. I tried on a pair and didn't want to take them off! The only drawback is that there aren't very many styles to choose from. Welcome to Crowning Image I've seen more styles elsewhere, but that's a start!
  19. Exactly! We'll arrive on Monday and not get married until Saturday. I don't want it to get dirty from the beach, suntan lotion, etc before the wedding. Our suite has a safe but I'm still paranoid!
  20. I have mixed feelings about this... My FH and I are thinking about using a "fake" ring at our ceremony so we don't have to take my real set. We are going to use his real wedding band because it was realatively inexpensive (at least compared to mine). My set is a very simple solitaire and eternity band. I happened to find almost the exact same set at Macys. I went ahead and bought it so I don't have to travel with mine and worry about theft, loss, damage. So, on the one hand it's not a bad idea, but I also want to get married with my ring. Any thoughts? Feel free to tell me if I'm over analyzing. I tend to do that!

    Newbie

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll get lots of great advice. I sure have! One thing to keep in mind, and I tell myself this all the time, is that the resorts specialize in weddings--it's thier job. So, while it's a huge deal to us they know what they're doing. Also, my travel agent said they are doing some major construction on the highways and it can take longer to get to OR than Negril from MoBay. (I hope that doesn't freak anyone out!)

    Jamaica HELP!

No problem. I had a million questions ans still keep coming up with more every day! Children are a no-go at SA and all Couples and Sandals Properties. I think you can have them only at the ceremony. THis sucks for the parent because they have to leave with them. I've been working with the new wedding coordinator Debbie, who took over for Elizabeth. She is based out of Florida so it is easier to work with her and much cheaper on the phone bill. They have lots of options, alternate sites in case of rain, private dinner packages, etc. If you have specific questions Private Message me and I'll do the best I can to answer them! Good luck planning! Erin

    Jamaica HELP!

I'm getting married at Swept Away. WHile the wedding hasn't taken place yet, I'll be more than happy to pass along any info.
  24. I'm working on mine right now. I'm having issues with Word...I calso can't choose between the elegant script and funky font. As soon as I get through this (hopefully without pulling out my hair) I'll post some examples.
  25. This is what I am thinking for my MOH, BM, and "bridal attendants ( the girls not standing up for me. I think it would be fun for us to all have matching right-hand cocktail rings. Should be a great photo opportunity! Product: Kate Landry CZ Ring As soon as I figure out how to post pictures, I'll do that instead of all the links! lol
