We just finished packing and have to be up in 3 hours! I just want to thank all of you for being so helpful and wonderful! I intend to take lots of pics for you all and hopefully will be able to help all of you next RIU brides to be! Thank you again! I would have been lost without you! Kim

We were there January '07 when we got engaged and we personally liked the beach a lot better as we didn't like the hotel as the back drop for pics at the pond gazebo...people had their towels hanging off their balconies to dry and random people were obviously hanging out on their balconies taking in the sites and sun. Just our insight on what we saw when we were there...have you seen pics of bride's weddings from there...that might help you decide!!! Wherever it'll be, will be SO beautiful! We were SO impressed with the RIU...that's why we're going back!!!!!

I LOVE your pics!! Congrats again!!! LOVE the Lilies, too! Question about the tipping....I know you said about $250 but I was curious how you allocated the tipping....I really don't know how much for each "job description" ie...the bartender vs. Chandlyn, etc... If you don't mind sharing...that would really help!!! 8 days to go.......I'm sooooo excited!!

We're having a small wedding as well - 17 guests (4 1/2 weeks to go!!) We're getting married at four, then have hired a steel drum band for an hour and have ordered champagne and O'rderves (sp? to be served on the beach. then pics, then dinner at 6:00pm. We will then head to the disco from 8-10pm. Then just do whatever from then on! Whatever you decide will be perfect! And if you get the upgrade to the suite-drinks at your place will be perfect!

Hi Diana! Congratulations!! Honestly, I remember them being on the firmer side but other than that, we slept fine! Mind you....may have had something to do with the Red Stripe! LOL! We're just about to book the Deluxe Ocean View Junior suite with the Jacuzzi thanks to the threads on this site. I didn't want to have to beg for the upgrade when we get down there! I've been, I've Seen!!! And we're going back! I love it there! Like any place, if you have high expectations and are hard to please, you will find negatives but FH and I absolutely loved it! We love how big it is also as our friends and family won't be lying on top of each other...if you want alone time, you can make yourself scarce - if you want to party it up with everyone, giddy up! Gorgeous Hotel guys! Great pick rest assured!

We're flying out of Vancouver May 22, 2008 and our guests are paying $2150 each all taxes, transfers, etc. included, For Junior Suites it's about $150 more per person for the week....I think you will get a better deal once you enter into a group booking which we had to have a minimum 10 people to get the special rates.
