  1. I asked my MIL to bring DH's Grandma's - we used that for sentimental value..
  2. OMG Abbie I LOVE IT! It looks sooo good on you - what a great feeling eh?
  3. This is sooo unbelievable. Perhaps her legal counsel needs a good talking to if they've been advising her that she has some action. Abbie is sooo right.. this is not slander but a perfectly honest review of personal experiences.. it's not like you are reporting hearsay.
  4. I wore a white lace thong (sorry too much info for some) and no bra ... I don't really need a bra frankly but I also didn't want to sweat to death! I had lingerie for "later"... lol..
  5. The Costco and and the Walmart are about a 20 minute drive - Costco is essentially identical to the ones we have here - the Walmart was pretty good. Not sure if they had fresh flowers though - I didn't really look! I think that the chairs they use with the covers are the banquet room chairs... but not sure to be honest. We had the Tiffany chairs for our reception (which we paid extra for!)
  6. Excellence Riviera is a beautiful spot - my parents have stayed there a number of times. Depending on what your sister wants in terms of travel time, it's only about 25 minutes from the airport ... a great spot and close to Playa Del Carmen and Cancun..
  7. Here's the spreadsheet... any questions fire away! CUSTOM BUDGET FINAL.xls
  8. We priced out what we wanted with WISH, Fantasy and Aqua. We actually found it was cheaper to use the WISH because I wanted to change a lot of what was in the package (for the appetizers and food) and with every change you pay a cost essentially. For me, the cheaper route was to say.. this is exactly what I want.. and get the price from Perla.
  9. Yes you can pay by credit card - the morning of the wedding, my dad and FIL went to meet with Perla and paid the bill. There were some consumption costs (i.e., we upgraded on the wine so we paid a per bottle corkage fee) that was added to our room bill. In terms of cocktail party - ours was one hour and it was perfect. I think if you want to do some pictures during cocktails 30 min may not be enough. For the WISH package - I think 6 white chair covers are included (or however many ppl are included in the package) - the others are extra. I don't think any table cloths are included. I will try and post my final invoice that I created if you think it would be helpful..
  10. I am not a Jamaica bride.. but am going to chime in anyway. You can legally change your name (which includes everything and your birth certificate) or assume your husband's name (everything but your bc). That's what I did and it's pretty easy.
  11. we saw nothing until we got down there ... I get my own spreadsheet based on all the discussions I had with Perla...
  12. Looks good! Couple of things that might be missing - I believe that chair covers and sashes are extra and I didn't see those. Centrepieces as well. Wondering too how many ppl - you guys are having - more than 20?
  13. Welcome to BDW from a fellow Torontonian!
  14. Thanks Carly for going on a search for this thread and updating the title for me!
  15. Thanks ladies ... we haven't received all our pro pics but here are some we got yesterday of our TTD!
  16. Ritche is in Toronto, On Avenue Road. It's a great store with a lot of selection and the sales people are super nice!
  17. I agree with 100% with Jenny. We didn't register for fine china because I know we won't use it. We registered for nice Denby dishes - they aren't cheap but I use them every day.
  18. If you are doing the legal ceremony they won't give you anything in terms of a "Schedule" for the ceremony. But.. basically it's intro stuff, then vows, then signing the paperwork and stamping your thumb in the ink. We added in our own vows and a sand ceremony. The sand ceremony came after the vows and exchange of rings. ( i think!)
  19. I am procrastinating from working on a take-home exam for a course I'm taking .. ha ha Yamille you are right about the high tables. We had these set up on the terrace (on the dance floor essentially). I love your beach idea - we had all our appetizers set up on the terrace and then of course we had the bar so it made sense to everything together.
  20. Sorry I didn't go there either! I had the best experience at Ritche and found that they had the best collection. As Helen said - try to avoid Saturdays - we ended up going on the weeknights and found it to be much better. Where abouts are you located?
  21. I don't have the centrepiece file unfortunately. I had sent Perla a couple of pics of things I was interested in and when when she said it was going to be like $60 per table that was enough information for me..
