  1. September 30 - 5:37 pm - just finishing up work for today and trying to force myself to get to the gym!

  3. My dress was totally fine - we went in the ocean, the sand and the pool and the pool side showers and you couldn't tell after the fact - I think my dress was actually cleaner!
  4. Another option is cheapspirititems.com. We ordered ours from there and were extremely happy - 50 is the minium and the cost for 50 is $65.00. The biggest plus? FREE SHIPPING! To Canada as well!
  5. I really think it depends on the group. Most of our friends and relatives are well-behaved. In terms of speeches, we had MOH, BM, Parents and DH and I. The way we set it up was such that people could make a toast which would give them a chance to say a short bit.. and would make us kiss.. and it worked perfectly. We had 5 ppl get up and make a toast - keep in mind each was about 1 minute.

One suggestion would be to look through the last 20 pages of posts - that is the most recent stuff - and see what the most current PRC brides are doing!

I think it depends on whether or not you and your DH will see eachother before the ceremony and how long you have your photog for. As an example, we had our photogs travel with us for the week so I wasn't as concerned with getting pictures before the ceremony as we did our TTD a few days later... but if you are hiring someone for a limited amount of time you may want to consider that. I don't know what time the sun sets in May - but if it's not until 7:00 or so then you should be fine. Our photogs were awesome - Visual Cravings - they are a husband and wife team and they were great to work/travel with!

  9. I would concur with SamG. Our ceremony was at 3:30 and by the time it was finished and we had congrats champagne with the guests we were rushing to do pics before sunset and get back to the reception. Our time was as follows: 3:30 ceremony - cocktails and appetizers from 4:30 - 6:00 with the mariachi band, dinner was at 6:00pm and we went all the way until about midnight. We paid extra for the extra time but it was totally worth it!
  10. To be fair I think the make-up and hair at the Paradisus has received mixed reviews. One of my friends who was attending is a MAC make-up artist so I can't speak to the Paradisus make-up. On the hair front - the only issue I really had was due to the language barrier. I had Laticia - she was sweet - but didn't speak a stitch of English. I did take a ton of pictures with me to show her what I wanted and she did a great job - although it's hard to explain if you want it a bit different for example from the picture. I was happy with the outcome - she did my sister and my mom and MIL and we were all satisfied. They used a lot of spray - which ended up being a godsend because of the wind, heat and humidity.
  11. Welcome to all the new Paradisus Brides! For those who are interested - I have attached the sand ceremony we used Sand Ceremony.doc
  12. Hey ladies! Just thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing! Will try and answer some of the recent questions - We got married in November and had our ceremony at 3:30. The sun set around 5:30 - 6:00 so it was great for pics etc. We did the sand ceremony which worked out well - I wrote the script (ok copied it from other BDW) and gave it to the judge and it was great.
  13. If they are staying for more than the wedding day - I would think about what other pics you might want. Welcome Dinner? Trash the Dress? and the amount of time for each of those. We had a specific amount of time alotted for each. I would also consider putting in how/what you will receive in terms of images - will they be a high res DVD with all pictures, just edited pictures etc.?

  15. We closed on our house October 31 and left for the wedding three weeks later. I would say aside from the obvious finanical constraints, it was extremely stressful moving, dealing with the closing and everything that goes along with it - and packing for a DW. If I had to do it all over again I probably would have waited to buy a home until after we were married.
  16. My sis is getting married in Oct. and will have her 3 yr old nephew and 1.5 year old niece (siblings) walking down the aisle. We are having a mini version of her bouquet (like 5 or 6 flowers) made and they are going to hold hands and walk together. their dad is the BM so we're hoping they seem him and go towards familiarity!
  17. Friday July 10th, 8:08 pm - Just came in from gardening and DH made me a yummy gin and tonic. We just danced around our home office to some silly music...!
  18. when we did our site visit there (way back when) they said anywhere between 1 and 4 per day..
  19. You ladies are awesome! I should have forgone the 4 hours of googling and posted this a long time ago!
  20. Awesome ideas Josie! I love the photo ideas - I am certainly going to steal those - and I am doing something similar with "guess the gumballs" since my sis is addicted to gumballs! THANK YOU!
  21. I am confident that all you creative ladies will have some suggestions for me. I am hosting a bridal shower for my sister in about three weeks and am trying to come up with some games that aren't standard (i.e., toilet paper bride, memory game etc) They need to be for all ages young and old - we are about 30 people ... sitting at tables of 4-6 ppl. I have already done a "how well does the bride know the groom" trivia where I asked her FI questions that she will have to answer. Any suggestions??
  22. Sunday July 5 - 11:47 am - reminding myself why I drank so much last night and trying not to move my head too much b/c of the splitting headache.
  23. Welcome! We attend a wedding at the Grand Sirenis in November 2007. The hotel itself is quite new and the grounds sprawling - it certainly has that "modern" feel - clean lines, grey, black, silver etc. the lobby looks like a fancy bank. The wedding was beatiful - although not overly private so if seclusion is something you are big into then I would look at other spots at the hotel aside from the beach... There are two things I would keep in mind - the hotel is a 2 hour bus ride from the cancun airport which is quite significant, and the beach is small (I think it's a man made lagoon and beach). If you have specific questions ask away! The
