Here's mine. I'm really sorry if it's too big, I've tried resizing it but for some reason it still shows up huge.

What should our next holiday be for Secret Elf?
Jenn79 replied to DreaW's topic in Forum Suggestions & Feedback
Afraid I'll have to back out of the next few, we're moving into a new house in April so all extra money will be heading that way. But I'll be in for next Christmas, that's a promise! -
I have to confess that I really don't like my brother's girlfriend/common-law wife. They have been together for about ten years now, and I've pretty much learned to put up with her, but she is rude, obnoxious, and a big old spoiled brat. Whatever she wants, she gets, but when it comes to my brother doing something with his family (like, oh I don't know, my wedding that they didn't come to), she finds a way to make sure it doesn't happen. I probably wouldn't be as upset if there was a valid reasoning behind it, but when they use the money excuse, then go out and get a new car, rennovate the bathroom and plan a vacation to Florida this April (complete with Disneyworld and Universal Studios), I can't help but be a little miffed.

I ordered napkins and matchbooks for my husband's 30th birthday. They turned out really well! The napkins are thick and soft, the images and printing were clear and the colours turned out pretty much the same as they look on the website. I was charged a little more in shipping than I thought I would be, but I wasn't surprised since I live in Canada, and the shipping always gets the better of me. Otherwise, I would definitely reccommend them! The package I ordered arrived really fast (about two weeks I think), and as I said, I love the quality. Here is a pic that shows the napkin (can't really see the matchbook well because of the flash) and here is a close up of the matchbook Sorry about the picture size, I did resize but apparently not small enough!

I recently obtained my Library & Information Technician certificate (June 2006), and have since been working as a library assistant in a small research library for a defence contracting company. Basically I get to process books (call numbers, spine labels, book cards...yes, we still use book cards, the library is too small to warrant a computerized system), circulate journals throughout the company, and order articles for the engineers to use for their research. It's not the most exciting job, but it pays well, the people are really nice, and I get to work pretty much on my own. Hoping to one day work in a school library, but for now I enjoy what I do.

Sounds like you had a blast! I got the toilet paper wedding dress treatment at my shower as well, and as embarassed as I was, it was pretty fun!

love the Def Leppard one! I may not have been a cool kid but I always knew my music!

Any of the South Shore beaches in Bermuda are absolutely beautiful. The sand actually has a pink tone to it, which looks amazing next to the aqua colour of the water. Warwick Long Bay is my particular favourite, but Horseshoe Bay is pretty spectacular as well. The coolest thing is that most of the beaches along this shore are connected by sand paths, making it possible to hike from beach to beach (if that's your kind of thing). I don't have any pictures I can upload at the moment (stuck at work), but here is a link to Bermuda's tourism page: Bermuda Vacations, Meetings, Weddings, Guide, History & Culture | Bermudatourism.com - Feel the Love for some more info. Makapuu Point beach on Oahu is also pretty amazing. It's right across the street from Sea Life Park (where Adam Sandler worked in 50 First Dates), and just down the road from Magnum P.I.'s helicopter dock. Okay, here are a few pix of Warwick Long Bay...none of them are mine, but they definitely capture the beach at its best:

Best gifts from your registry
Jenn79 replied to Maura's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Our favourite gifts were our casserole dishes, and Turquoise Kitchen Aid mixer. We use the casseroles all the time, and I've wanted the mixer for as long as I can remember. It makes baking so much easier! I don't get as much time as I would like to bake, but when I do, I tend to make a day of it and the mixer allows me to do more in less time. There's nothing I can think of that I wish I had registered for. Maybe more towels. I'm of the opinion you can never have too many linens. As for iffy items, again, nothing really comes to mind. We went for practical things we knew we needed and would use, if not regularly at least on a semi-regular basis (ie: blender, snack trays). We only registered at one place (The Bay), and it was more than enough. Funnily enough, my (now) husband didn't want to register anywhere, he felt like it was greedy to make a list of things we wanted. But when we got down to it and he had the scanner thing in his hands, he had the time of his life. I think he just liked being able to play with a new gadget for a few hours. -
I didn't use an arch for my wedding, but it was never something I wanted either. Here is a link to my pictures if you want to see how it looked. Bear in mind I went really simplistic, it was all about the beach and the colour of the water for me: Facebook | Jennifer Hill Holmes's Photos – Bermuda Wedding Album I hope you're able to get the look you're looking for, with or without the arch. From everything I've seen of your planning so far, your colours are gorgeous and just the bridesmaid dresses alone would add that something extra at the head of the aisle.

Song for bride to walk down aisle to
Jenn79 replied to Carolena7's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
chicago88, that was the song I was supposed to walk down the aisle to. Whether the cd player didn't work or the waves drowned it out, I'm not sure, but I still heard it in my head as I made my way across the beach -
The Sweetest Thing by U2 could be a fun choice. I love U2!

Game Over T-shirts
Jenn79 replied to jaychristensen's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
My husband and his two brothers got this shirt (Game Over), and I'm pretty sure they found it at Walmart. This was about a year ago and I'm not sure if it's still there, but I know I've seen it around since. -
Hey all I have a bit of an obsession with stationary, and thought I would share some great sites I've found for beachy themed thank you and notecards: Thornwillow Press publishes unique handmade books, fine notecards, and custom stationery for every occasion. Thank You Note Cards, Blank Cards: Greeting Cards, Party Invitations, Address Labels Nautical Books, Cruising Guides, and Sailing Charts - Seashell Boxed Note Cards - Joseph Gallant Fine Art, cape cod watercolors, online art gallery, framed prints, personalized christmas cards, note cards, custom paintings, home portraits, wholesale gifts (this one may look like it only sells paintings, but they are all available as note cards as well) Some of the sites have other items that they sell, and have been fun to peruse. I know some of you have expressed concern over how to approach the thank you cards, and I know for me it's always been easier when I have a pretty image to focus on.

Mine did't get very dirty from the sand at all...granted, I was fairly paranoid about it and didn't let it drag a whole lot, I even held the train as I walked down the steps so it wouldn't get caught on the wood. There was a small black smudge a quarter of the way up the front that I still haven't figured out what it is, but aside from that, it's as white as the day I picked it up from the store (and I know, because I take a look at it at least once a week...I just really love my dress!)

Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue
Jenn79 replied to destinationbride07's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Something Old: a handkerchief from my mother-in-law that both she and her mother had at their weddings Something New: Dress, jewellery, contact lenses Something Borrowed: dangly pearl earrings Something Blue: garter; underwear (these were actually aqua blue with pink lace around the edges, both of my wedding colours); the ribbon around my bouquet
