  6. My absolute favourite holiday movie is called All I Want For Christmas; it centres around a little girl who asks Santa to get her parents back together again, and of course, all the antics involved in doing so; I also love a movie called One Magic Christmas; it's a bit of a play on the Scrooge story, where the main character is a woman who doesn't have much Christmas spirit, but through different events comes to see things differently And finally, I'm a sucker for It's a Wonderful Life (Black and white original, of course, no artificial colouring for me!). I love to turn off all the lights except for the tree and curl up to watch it on Christmas Eve...and every time that bell rings I always get choked up

  12. We used the song More by Harry Connick Jr. We had been having trouble thinking of a song when we went to his concert a few years ago, and he opened with this song. As soon as we heard the first line, we looked at each other and said, "that's it", we just knew.
  13. This is our first year doing our own tree, and I have to admit, I've been more than a little bit excited about it. We don't have a theme, just lots of multicoloured lights and different ornaments. I've been collecting since I was sixteen (about twelve years now), and I like to get a new one every year, whether it's from Hallmark, Carlton Cards, or somewhere else. I've also started picking one up wherever I travel. Here is a link to an album I've set up of our decorating Facebook | Jennifer Hill Holmes's Photos - It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas On a side note, I do have a second tree that is themed: Star Wars themed. I'm a ridiculously huge fan, and have amassed quite a collection of Star Wars ornaments (thank you Hallmark and Ebay!). It's only a 3ft tall tree, but I've decked it out with blue lights, my Star Wars ornaments, and some silver, blue and green ball ornaments to fill it out (to go with the Light Side of the Force...I know, I am such a geek!). This is the first year I've been able to have my Star Wars tree, and I couldn't be happier with it!
  14. I too love these books! I was actually "lucky" enough to work at a book store during the release of boox 6 (the second last one). What an INSANE experience. It was busier than Christmas Eve. The store I worked at went all out though. We had a magician walking the aisles, a palm-reader set up in the travel section, and different craft stations set up to coordinate with the stores on Diagon Alley (wand making at Olivander's wand shop, free treats at The Leaky Cauldron, etc.), and everyone working was dressed up as a character from the book. For the last book, I wasn't working at the store anymore, but I had to stop by to see what they had set up this time around. It was just as crazy, but definitely an experience worth being a part of...and yes, I waited around until midnight to pick up my copy. I then proceeded to read the book and was finished by two a.m the next day (Sunday)
  15. Here are a "few" I've managed to find... I have an album full of flower ideas at photobucket, here is the link, password wedding07 (please let me know if it doesn't work): gingerlady1979/flowers - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
  16. I know Michael's sells a lot of different sized boxes and bags. They don't show a lot of selection online, but in the stores themselves there is usually a whole aisle of boxes, bags, tins, plastic containers, cellophane wrap, you name it. Good luck!
  17. Here are a few that I managed to find. Turns out that with six different cameras on you, there are many opportunities for funny pix to be taken! My father in law forgot his glasses, so Mom (in-law) pulled a MacGyver My niece, always the ham Not sure if you can make it out, but I have a silly look on my face; I forgot to remove my engagement ring for the minister, and this is the face I made while taking it off I wasn't ready for my picture to be taken, but my sister-in-law decided to take it anyway This is the face of a Bridezilla! But I don't know why I'm making it!
  18. Here's what my mom wore: another view She found it at Sears last spring. And here is what my MIL wore: Hers she found at Le Chateau, sometime between December and February last year
  19. I love the orange and the turquoise together! Beautiful! Looks like you had an amazing day, congratulations to you both!
  20. As of this weekend, they were still available at Hallmark. I tried to find them online so I could post a link, but didn't have any luck.
