  1. Welcome Gina. I am jealous. Italy will be absolutely beautiful. Best of luck!
  2. I think ideally it is better to only have a few cards so if you have 10 cards, I don't think it would hurt to close a few of them. Just pick the newest ones with the lowest available credit limits.
  3. I am not an official credit card counseling person but the longer your cards are open and are in good standing then the better it is for your credit rating. Also, it is better to have less than 50% balance on any one card. For example, if you have a $10K limit on one card and a $20k limit on the other and want to borrow $15K, it is better to put $5 on the first card and $10K on the second card instead of all of it on the second card with the bigger limit.
  4. Everything is so cute. I love the flower girl dress. You have fantastic bargain hunting skills! Good job! I just ordered my veil from Occansey and they are fabulous to work with. I asked so many questions and changed my mind so many times that I felt embarrased to keep asking questions but they were so nice and helpful. The website is overwhelming at first but they can do anything you want and I am sure for a lot cheaper than you can find elsewhere.

Hello Danielle. Welcome. You are definitely in the right place to help plan the wedding of your dreams. Good luck!
  9. Hello and welcome. I am also getting married in Mexico in May. At which hotel are you getting married?

    Hello!

Hello and welcome. I have been to St. Thomas and St. John but not St. Croix. If it is anything like the other two, it will be a beautiful wedding for sure! Good luck.
  11. You are in Centerville right? I would recommend going to the boutique that I went to. It is called Bobbie's Bridal and is located on Waples Mill off route 50. I bought my dress off the rack and they have a lot to choose from. The seamstress I am sure can make any last minute alterations pretty quickly. Bobbie is great and she will give a discount for buying off the rack. Good luck and if you want any help, let me know. I work in Chantilly and can meet you at the boutique during lunch or right after work. Don't worry. You will find something.

That is one thing that I am taking a chance on but I am sure it will be beautiful. Yes, please post a picture when you receive yours and let me know what you think of the quality.

The prices can't be beat if you are looking for something in particular. There were many inexpensive ones on ebay but I really wanted a longer one and was having a lot of trouble finding what I wanted. Kathy at Occansey was fabulous to work with and they can make anything!
  15. I definitely wanted a veil but the one I wanted was $420. YIKES. So after recommendations from the wonderful ladies on this forum I just ordered mine today for $135 from www.occanseydesigns.com. It is a 2 layer veil (47" and 52") with beading on the edging. I will post pictures once I receive it. I am very excited!
  16. Hi Erica. Welcome to the forum and congrats on your upcoming wedding.
  17. I was also interested in buying more on the new thread that is going around but it is not worth it. BUT, if anyone has an extra ivory, light green or fuschia ones I will buy them from you. THANKS.
  18. I just found out that a good friend of mine and his wife are having a baby boy! Also, I just found out that my mother's gastric bypass surgery is scheduled at the end of this month. I know she was really wanting to have it before my wedding! I know she is super excited.

Hello and welcome. Good luck with your planning.
  20. These all sound fantastic but we are not having a cake. We are going with a dessert bar instead.
  21. They are beautiful. You did a great job. This is the look I am going for too but I just want earrings. My MOH is making my jewelry too and she does a fantastic job so I am excited to see what she has for me.
  22. I am getting married at the Fiesta Americana Condesa in Cancun. We are expecting close to 100 people and the place is definitely kid friendly which was important to us too. Although we are having our ceremony in a church and the reception inside the banquet room, we are doing a sand ceremony outside. They do have a wonderful set up though for outside receptions that look great. I went on a recommendation of this place from Anny and I am so happy I did. It is the perfect place for us. Maybe you should add it to your list. Mariana, the wedding coordinator, is fabulous!! Good luck!
