  1. Dear FH: Doing the dishes does not mean loading the dishwasher and leaving the pan in the sink to "soak". The pan had nothing stuck to it, it would have been very easy to clean. Now I get to clean it this morning, just like always. When I cook and you do the dishes that's great, but DO ALL OF THE DISHES, not just what you feel like doing!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Just who I have been looking for- a Caribbean specialist!!
  3. Tami they are both beautiful! This isn't exactly the same situation but I'll share anyway. My mom got an anniversary ring for my parent's 15th anniversary, and then she got an upgraded engagement ring for their 25th anniversary. Poor mom, the rings are just too big to wear together so she wears one on each hand and now each hand sparkles like crazy! I say get a wedding band like one of these and then go for the the anniversary ring you'd like (and deserve) when the time comes. That's why God gave you 2 hands!
  4. Hm.... I don't know how many I can nominate, but: BTB: Maria and Lizz Mrs.: Christine and Christa
  5. I'm happy to hear she is doing better. Have you heard anything back from Petsmart?
  6. Maria they are beautiful- too pretty to eat!!
  7. Shelley, I don't know what to say. You need to do what's best for you and Amos, and it wouldn't be right to start a marriage unless you both are completely happy about the circumstances. Please let us know if there's anything we can do.

  15. Um... this really isn't relevent, but this woman works with children?? If you really wanted to, you could get her by telling the parents exactly what happened. If it were me, I wouldn't want someone like that near my kids!
  16. I am so sorry, Tammy. I wish I could make people like that just disappear...

I can honestly say that we have made sure to include all of the people that we truly feel that way about. We have had a few "I wonder if we SHOULD have invited so-and-so ..." - like FI's Boss who we've known for years --- but in the end, we decided that it was OK not to invite those people. I especially agree with the idea that if you do have a smaller circle of really CLOSE family and friends ... anyones that aren't that close may feel uncomfortable! As for your family being bigger than your FI's - you can't help that! I'm an only child and I love being around big families because I'm usually jealous at how fun they have! I think that I read somewhere that when planning a DW - you should never invite anyone that you don't really want to come because they'll be the one that is sure to show up! As tacky as that might sound - I think it probably rings true! You're smart to be thinking about it beforehand ... I know things can seem somewhat overwhelming in the beginning ... but the fact that the two of you are talking about it means that you will eventually figure out what's best for you! I'm definitely inviting my whole family and close friends but our total list of people to invite (right now) is about 80, and 55 of them are my family. So if Mike invites his entire family and close friends, they will still be out numbered. I guess I can't be concerned about that- he needs to get over it. He has a lot more close friends than I do, but my family is closer. I also like the idea that the trip is a way for our families and friends to bond and get to know one another better.

I think cleaning companies are over priced, but on the other hand, they probably have more insurance (or insurance period). Maybe ask your neighbors or people you work with?

Totally worth it, now I love being home! And she cleans like no one I've ever known. She has this way of doing the pillows on the bed that just look great, and I can never recreate it...I hate taking them off that night because it won't look that good for another week! I totally agree! She's coming tomorrow and I can't wait! I am rather particular so we went through a rough spot at first, but now she understands what's important to me. I pay $65 ever other week, but SOOO worth it. We no longer argue about cleaning.
  20. Mike will help, but on his own time. I have to have everything cleaned up after dinner before I can sit down and relax. If I didn't do it, he'd wait until the next night before we cook dinner to clean up the previous night's dishes. He's also particular about some things, but others he's completely oblivious. Also, I finally decided to have someone come in and clean every other week. I was to the point that I was spending an entire day cleaning and stressing about it. Mike would say "don't worry about it" but the house won't clean itself! I do stuff in between cleanings but I don't spend a whole day doing it anymore. It is the best investment I've ever made!

We have almost 50 people booked so far ... with maybe another 20 once the actual invites go out. We are okay with just "friends" coming -- so I know this isn't much help ... but I didn't want to make 2 different sets of invites, etc, so we just decided if we wanted them at the AHR, we'd invite them to the whole she-bang ... knowing (hoping) many will only make it to the AHR. I thought about doing this, but it would be 200+ people and that sort of defeats the purpose... I have a pretty large family and most of us are really close, but Mike's is small. I think he's worried that my family will be overwhelming. I'd love to cut the list, but I don't think that's an option. I've got a few months before I do STD's, but I'd like to try to have all of this figured out now.
