OMG Kate!!!! I'm SOOOOO happy for you. I kept checking the forum all day to see if you had reported in. When I didn't hear from you I kept saying to myself, "No news is good news." And then I was thinking, "Mike better do it or I have to drive to MA this weekend to kick his BUTT!!!" Yeah, let the planning begin. I can't wait to see what you post about planning your wedding in Cape Cod. This is going to be so exciting. Enjoy this time. I thought I would add mine too. Of all the stuff we did, I wouldn't change a thing. 1. Everyone LOVED our Welcome Bags. We ordered Land's End canvas beach bags for each couple and put inside two beach towels, a currency converter, magazine, stamped postcard, frisbee, Bert's Bee's lip balm, Bert's Bee's After Sun Soother, water, snacks, and a little mesh pouch with Advil, bandaids and Neosporin and each bag also contained a personal handwritten letter with a personal itinerary for each guest including their pick up time for their airport shuttle. 2. The fireworks were SOOOOOO worth the money. 3. Vari, Juan Carlos, the Hilton (yes, even the Hilton) the Welcome Dinner restaurant, the transportation company (we provided R/T airport shuttles for all our guests as well as the bus for the Welcome Dinner.) Wouldn't change any of it. 4. We spent a FORTUNE on the food, open bar and cocktail party. I wouldn't change a thing! Now that I look back though, there are a couple of things I wish I added. 1. I should have had a bucket of bottled water on the beach near the ceremony site. It was really hot and although we had the cocktail party before the ceremony (so people would have already had something to eat and drink) and I placed hand held paper fans on the chairs, and we put umbrellas, people were still hot. 2. I wish I added a basket of toiletries in the bathrooms with deoderant, hairspray, powder, tampons, etc. We were all sweating so much, a little deoderant would have been nice. 3. I also wish I had added paper hand towels in the bathrooms (with our logo on it) and cocktail napkins for the cocktail party (with our logo on it.) 4. Cigars would have been a nice touch at the end of the night too. And of course, I would have ordered matchbooks (with our logo on them.)

OMG Heidi!!! Sorry I'm so late chiming in here. But WOW!!! You looked AMAZING!!! You hair was SPECTACULAR and you look like you were smiling all day!!! That's so AWESOME!!!! I thought about you all day on the 4th and told my guests about my "forum friend" who was getting married that day. So cool!!!!

Ok, so I realized that if I did one review for everything, it would be WAY TOO long. So I decided to separate it by catagory. I hope that's ok. Here is my review of my WC, Vari from Allure Event Design (also a member of BDW.) I give her an A+++ Words cannot express how much I love Vari. She’s AMAZING!!! We had been working together since I first got engaged and she saw my vision from day one. We were always on the same page with everything. Some things we both agreed were not worth going over the budget on, and then there were some things that we both agreed could definitely go over the budget. She and I had a great connection in that way. She knew what kind of effect I was going for and was she made it her priority to help me achieve it. It wasn't about money or "the sale" with her. And although I'm SOOO happy the planning is over, I’m really going to miss working with her. Planning a destination wedding is hard when it comes to making decisions from far away. Vari would send me pictures and make suggestions that were in-line with what I was trying to do and everything came together perfectly. From the chivari chairs, the green hand blown glass chargers, the flowers/candles/and lime centerpieces, the hanging Chinese lanterns and floating Chinese lanterns, she really created an UNBELIEVABLE event. All my guests commented on how wonderful she was and what a terrific job she did. You'll all be able to see more when I get my pics back from Juan Carlos. Couple of things that I feel I should mention about Vari - she always knew all the details of my wedding and remembered all the changes we made as if it was her own wedding. I never had to repeat myself to her or remind her of anything. She was always “on the ball†and “she got it†all the time. I LOVED that!!! Some people may say it’s a talent. But I think it’s just that she loves the planning process as much as the brides do. And that's what made working with her so easy and so much fun. Another thing that I LOVED, was that she always made me feel like I was the only bride she was working with. Whenever we would email or talk, she wouldn’t be “all business.†We would talk about other things and she would let me vent about other issues (mostly the Hilton - LOL!!!) I felt like I was planning my wedding with a girlfriend, not just a WC. And lastly, even Juan Carlos had made a comment that Vari is wonderful. He told me “she cares about the wedding.†And that there says it all. Ok Vari - here is your reveiw. I hope you liked it. It was so great working with you and I’m seriously going to miss you. At least I can still see you on the forum.

Ok, I didn't read everyone's comments because I couldn't wait to chime in here. I am the ULTIMATE Conspiracy Theorist!!!! NEVER TRUST THIS GIRL, NO MATTER WHAT!!!! Even if you tell your FI that you're ok being civil with her. ALWAYS KNOW IN THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD THAT SHE'S PROBABLY UP TO NO GOOD!!!! Have you considered talking to her? Maybe sit her down and have a talk and let her know you're on to her and her stupid games. That's definitely something I would do. I'm the type of person who doesn't care if I make someone feel awkward about stuff like this. Why should I always have to be the one to feel awkward. Tell her like it is. Oh, and another thing . . . no matter what - don't let her think that her flirting with your FI gets to you. She'll just do it more. Play it cool around her but let FI know it's not cool and he needs to be respectful to you when it comes to her acting that way. And lastly, if you want me to kick her ass, just let me know.

I hate dealing with incompetent people. I know he's just a teenager, but it's still annoying. I hope everything works out. It'll be so nice if he's there for Chris. And I know it'll mean so much to Chris that his nephew will stand up for him like his brother would have done. Gives me goosebumps.

WOW, those are beautiful. And I'm sure they'll come in handy. I actually had my grandfather's hankie for my ceremony. The sun was right in my face and I kept tearing (I'm not a sappy kind of girl but everyone thought I was because I kept tearing.) It was great having the hanky available. Good job!!!
