  1. Does anyone know what the story is with setting up a platform on the beach in the Corridor? Here's the deal - my fiancee and I are thinking about renting Villa Amanda for our wedding. Problem is - we're expecting b/w 60 and 70 people and we want to have a seated dinner on the patio, but it's not very large. We can probably squeeze everyone on the patio but then we would be left with no dance floor. So we came up with an idea of putting a platform of some kind on the beach - since there are literally 8 steps to the beach from the villa - and use that as the ceremony location and dance floor. This would sort of be an extension of the existing patio. Any thoughts?
  2. Wow - this makes me nervous because my WC just recommended Elena to me yesterday. Not that I'm even close to talking flowers yet since my wedding is over 9 months away. But this makes me think to just go somewhere else from the beginning and avoid the hassel. Thanks for the info.
  3. Jaims - I'm looking into The Lazy Gourmet as well. According to my WC, they are "THE" caterers in Cabo. NO comparison. Also, she told me that they work with ANY budget you have. Even if you told them you only want to spend $25 per person, they can do it. Good luck! Also, I have a quick question (off the topic) - Are you getting married at the villa? If so, which one? I'm having trouble finding a villa that works with all my criteria, so I'm always up for suggestions. Thanks!
  4. Janet - Who did you end up using as your photographer? (I think I may have missed that somewhere.) Your pictures are BEAUTIFUL!!!
  5. Does anyone know if there are any restrictions with having fireworks done on the beach in the Corridor? I am having my wedding in a private villa (still to be determined) in the Corridor and would love to add this to our event. Right after the cake cutting sounds FANTASTIC!!!! Our guests would be blown away.
  6. Jill - Thank you so much. This is great info. I already sent them an email to see if they're available to meet with me when I'm in town later this month. Thanks again!
  7. Taryn - If you could post that villa list, that would be very helpful. I am planning to rent a villa for my April wedding next year. I have been in contact with Cabovillas but have had some problems with them. Not that I'm done with them, just shopping around a little more. Since Pedregal has noise restrictions after 10:00PM, we decided to find a villa in the Corridor. The only villa that Cabovillas recommended in the Corrdiro was Villa Vista Ballena. It looks beautiful in the pictures but I would like to look at more than one villa before deciding. There was another posting on here that recommended Cabo San Lucas Villa Rentals and Cabo San Lucas Vacation Rentals. I have an email into them. They seem to have more of a selection in the Corridor area.
  8. Yes, according to my WC, anyone can translate. Since I'm only having my two sisters as maids of honor, we decided to have Brendan's two sisters translate so they too could be involved in the wedding. They'll take turns reading which I think is going to be really nice.
  9. When we go to Cabo later this month, we're mostly going to be checking out villas for our wedding location. I'm a little bit of a control freak so I'm working with 4 different property management companies in order to find the perfect place. We're also going to check out restaurants for our Welcome Dinner. I've gotten some great recommendations on this site as well as from my WC. As of now I have 3 appointments with restaurant managers. I'm hoping to make 2 more. What vendors did you check out when you were in Cabo?
  10. MariaElena, Thank you sooooo much for all the details. That is GREAT!!! I am DEFINITELY going to check them out. In fact, all of your ideas are great. Thanks everyone.
  11. Yes, that would be great. Thanks!!!
  12. I'm from Astoria. Grew up there actually. What part of Queens do you live in?
  13. Has anyone worked with a planner from Baja Weddings? I have been working with a planner from there and so far she seems good. Although they have never given me a formal "brochure" of their services and prices. Is that normal?
  14. Hello again, Now I have a question regarding Rehearsal/Welcome Dinners. I am planning on inviting all my guests (about 60) to a Welcome Dinner the night before my wedding. I am trying to find a restaurant that can serve appetizers, give a choice of at least 2 entrees, a dessert and open bar for 3 hours for about $50 per person. Does anyone know of a nice place that can do all that? I have been emailing back and forth with Don Emiliano's, La Panga & La Bodaga. All seem to be a bit over my budget. I may have to down grade to a buffet, but wanted to check here before I do that. I'll be in Cabo this June 30th - July 3rd and will be available to check out any restaurant suggestions you have. Thanks for your help,
  15. Jamie, Have you seen Villa Paraiso in person? Do you happen to know if it could accommodate 60 people for a cocktail party, seated ceremony and sit-down dinner? I've seen pictures of this villa and it's beautiful. I'm just concerned about the lay out of the space. Thanks,
  16. Hi Everyone, My name is Jen and I'm new here. Over the past 2 days I've been reading a lot of your posts and already I have found some very useful information. I can't wait to hear more about your weddings and get some feedback on mine. Brendan and I are getting married in Cabo on 04.06.08. That will actually be 10 years exactly since our first date (a blind date.) As of now we don't have a location, but we are flying down on 6/30 to meet our coordinator and pick a villa to have our event. I'll be posting questions and replies over the next 10 months. Can't wait to get to know all of you better. Take care and thanks for welcoming me here. Jen
