I cooked for a jar of honey because I'm sexy as hell. Have you heard how to get your Porn name? I'll post it on a separate thread.

I hear ya!!! I'm not a knick, knack person either. I don't want to end up with a ton of "wedding stuff" to display when we get back. But the coffee table book sounds good. It'll blend with my house better.

Ok, I was really against those traditional "guest books." You know the ones where guests sign it and give you advice. But then my WC told me about one bride she worked with that found a really pretty hardcover coffee table book about Cabo that she put out for her guests to pick a page and sign. I kind of like that idea. Has anyone else done anything like that or know of a cool Cabo coffee table book. I found one on Amazon called "Oasis of Stone" but I wanted to see if there was something better out there. Thanks for your help.

It seems comparable to the US. We just rented a compact car from Alamo for 3 days and it was $150 total. That included a discount I got through my company and I thought the price was pretty good. The first time we went to Cabo (Dec 2005) we actually rented a mini-van from Payless and it was about $600 for the week but that included the insurance. I thought that was pretty good considering we had 6 of us in that thing all week. Keep in mind, Payless doesn't open early. We had an early flight out the day we left so it was a bit of a challenge returning the car.

I've rented a car both times I've been there and it was fine. The only thing you have to know is that your US car insurance does not carry over in Mexico. But you work for an insurance company, so you probably already knew that. We purchased our rental car insurance through AmEx, rather than the rental company (Alamo.) It was cheaper that way.

Today Drea & Erik will be legally married!
NYJen replied to PaulaV's topic in CONGRATS & Shout outs!!
Hey Drea, Congrats!!! Do you have any pics from today? When are you leaving? Have you decided what to do about your hair? Sorry for all the questions. They just all popped in my head at once. -
PLEASE DON'T WALK UP ON THE ROAD!!! There's no real sidewalk and the cars are all over the place - doesn't look that safe. Not to scare anyone, I'm just a worry-wort. But don't do it.

They definitely have kids size sombrero's. We got one for my 6 month old niece when we were in Cabo.

Saw this on an episode of "Married Away" (the couple was actually getting married in Cabo.) Their WC suggested that the flower girl use an upside-down sombrero to hold the flower petals. I thought it was a cute and clever idea - thought I would share.

Sarah, your brother's book came out so nice. I assume this is like the coffee table book My sister did something similar with pics of her daughter on Shutterfly (I think) and I think she paid around $100 for it. Came out really nice.

Help me choose my shoes...

I like the blue ones too. If you're concerned about the rhinestones and you still like the simplicity of the white ones, how about getting the white ones dyed a light blue? -
Funny you should word it that way. When Brendan and I first moved in together and people would ask if we were married, my response was always, "No, we're just living in sin." I thought it was pretty funny.

I too have been seriously slacking in the exercise department. I'm way too tired at night when I get home. Plus I want to hang out with my sweetie and enjoy dinner. So I decided I HAVE to get up at least 30 minutes earlier in the AM and hit the treadmill. I have a treadmill in my basement - there's no excuse. Getting it out of the way in the morning will be great, plus it will (hopefully) motivate me to eat better all day. And, it's only one shower, rather than working out at night and having to take a second shower everyday - saves me a little time.

Michelle, don't feel bad. I blew it today - already!!! I went to Subway and got a BMT rather than a veggie sandwich. But in my defense I was STARVING!!! It's ok, I'll just eat less for dinner and I'll do an hour on the treadmill tomorrow. But I'm going to a Brooklyn Cyclones (baseball) game tomorrow night. I know I'm going to end up eating a hot dog (or 2.) Yikes!!!

Oh, I also wanted to find out what your FI thought of the letter. Was he laughing hysterical? I'm sure your FSIL will back off now. Ha!!!

Here's another thought (and I hope this doesn't spark a huge debate or anything - and I certainly don't want to offend anyone here) BUT. . . you can also tell your BIL that you won't convert because their beliefs contradict each other. First they say that they believe you get to Heaven on Faith alone. There is nothing you can physically do to get yourself into heaven. (I believe that too.) But then they also say you need to strive to be a perfect person. HUH If God forgives me for all my faults and I don't need to do anything to get into heaven, then why do I need to strive for perfection. I'm a sinner for gooness sakes, I was born a sinner and I sin everyday. God still loves me no matter what. You're crazy to think that you can live without sin. I don't believe that. And as for Jehovah's Witness, what's up with that One minute they say that only a certain amount of people are going to get into heaven and then in the same breath they have to spend a certain amount of hours each week converting people. Why would I want to join a cult (oh sorry, a religion) where I now have to compete with millions of others for only 200,000 spaces in heaven. That's nuts. Again, I hope I didn't offend anyone.

Has anyone tried the new stuffed sandwich at Subway? What's the deal? Is it just new bread and you can make any sandwich out of it, or is it a whole new sandwich Normally, I'm in Subway a few times a week but I haven't been in awhile. I was going to go today and check out this new sandwich. It looks very interesting. Goal: Calories for the day to not exceed 1700 Breakfast: Cereal with skim milk = 400 calories Morning Snack: Banana = 100 calories Lunch: Subway's veggie sandwich on a 6" wheat with honey mustard, light chips and a diet coke = 350 calories Afternoon Snack: 100 calorie pack of chip's o'hoy Dinner: Who knows, we're probably going out to eat, but I'll keep it under 750 calories

Ok, this is a stretch but here it goes. My great uncle was married to Babe Ruth's niece. Her car horn even played "Take me out to the Ball Game." I know it's not a blood relation - but I'll take it.
-
Ok, here are mine: 1. I too have OCD and it drives my FI , my family & my coworkers nuts! 2. I'm related to Babe Ruth 3. I can read lips (I've been doing it my whole life because I'm severly hard of hearing.) 4. My first job out of college was for the National Enquirer magazine.

Your guests may do a double take like in the movie "Old School" when the Bride and Groom are dancing to "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and the singer says, "I f**ckin' need you more than ever." Very funny.

I had my first wedding nightmare last night. I dreamt that I was meeting with Jennifer Hatton (the cake diva) and we were going over colors for the cake. Then I realized I never sent out the invitations and the wedding was only a couple days away. So I had to cancel everything. It was awful. But I'm pretty sure it's normal to have these types of dreams. I'm so worried I'm going to forget something for this wedding. I'm sure these dreams are going to keep on coming for the next 8 months. Lovely.

The First Family Fight...Children at the Wedding
NYJen replied to Alisarosenbaum's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Clowns don't scare me - they're just freaks. Now Captain Hook - that's a different story. He used to scare the BeJesus out of me when I was a kid. Yikes!!! -

I'm sorry I'm still adding to this. Not that I feel the need to justify myself but I did want to let you girls know another major reason why we opted not to invite kids (besides our 4 nieces and nephews.) We are inviting 117 people to our wedding. There are 43 kids attached to those 117 people. Realistically I expect about 60 people to come. There are 37 kids attached to those 60 people. 37 kids!!! Most of your complete guests lists are less than that. I can't have 37 kids running around - it would literally turn into a kiddie party and I might as well get a clown at that point. You have to realize, we're in our 30's and almost everyone invited has kids. I can't tell some people that they can bring their kids while I tell others that they can't, so we opted to say no to everyone except our sisters. Especially since our nieces and nephews are playing a role in our wedding (ring bearers and flower girls.) I hope this explains things a little better.
