@@Matt Adcock Hello, I see you had some shootings in Arenika? is it a nice venue? thanks for your info
Hi @ilnaco80
Arenika is ok, but if you are looking for a beach club wedding, I would recommend Blue Venado. Great beach, totally private, excellent service, we really love it there! The palapa is gorgeous and the food is great, really can't say enough good things about Blue Venado Weddings.

past Palace brides or those that have stayed there: Does anyone remember how much the maracas sold for in the gift shops and what colors they had? Or if anyone will be there soon can take a pic of the colors? I remember they sold them, separately, pairs and I thought I seen a deal buy 3 for $15 or something like that.
We want to do maracas and I know I can get them cheaper through Amols, but traveling with all of them down won't be too fun. Already have enough to bring down.
Hello @@misbosox ! Have you checked out Maracas Mexico? They can ship anywhere and have the option of custom designs, very cool! Here is the Maracas Mexico website. Love maracas at Mexican destination weddings, very festive way to ask the newlyweds to kiss and a take-home treat for your guests.

Hi @@pddcmc !
Yes, those times are still perfect, no changes for you! We're looking forward to meeting you, hope the planning is going great!
@@nattiegams325 - What time is your ceremony at?
@@Matt Adcock - I book you guys (Debora) last year to photography my wedding on April 17th. Our ceremony is at 5:30 and we were going to do sunset portraits at 6. Do I need to try to get all of this changed? I am so confused!
http://www.timeanddate.com/sun/mexico/cancun?month=4&year=2015

Hello wedding planners! This was a sudden change for everyone down here and there is still some confusion with some, don't be too hard on your coordinators.
This is a good thing, longer days, more sunlight! Basically we'll be on daylight savings all year to have some wonderful sun time. You may consider moving your times to get those sunset pics or avoid the heat, but do remember that if your date is during the "regular" daylight savings time, you won't be affected anyway. Sunset pictures are a bit more complicated here as we are on the east coast, but definitely possible to do! Your photographer should know the best time/place for that perfect photo. In Cancun, the lagoon offers INCREDIBLE sunsets!
Happy planning my amigas!

Getting married April 26th at 3 PM at Moon Palace. Def. would like nice pictures! The beach always seems like a great idea, but not sure if it always pans out to actually be that way!
Thank you everyone for your input! I really appreciate it!
Hello @@AMD!
We have a lot of experience in capturing weddings at Moon Palace and we prefer the beach weddings to the gazebo. The gazebo is ok, though it really doesn't provide THAT much protection from the heat. The issue with gazebos is the light for the photographs, no overhead light and only sidelight coming through, makes it more complicated as everything is "backlit". Beach weddings in the later afternoon are stunning, around 4:30 pm the light is magic, it is not too hot and you will get some great photos.
Hope that helps! All the best and happy planning!

Hello future brides! We're so excited to see you here planning ahead and hope we can assist you with your questions and inspire you with ideas for the upcoming nuptials.
Moon Palace (and Palace Resorts in general) are very professional in their approach to weddings, they definitely know what they are doing. There are so many resorts to choose from it can be very difficult to decide, you just have to go with your gut and what makes you go WOW, like each of your wedding day choices.
Wedding at Iberostar
Wedding at private villa Hacienda del Mar
Wedding at Secrets Maroma
Wedding at Dreams Riviera Cancun
Wedding at Cabanas la Luna
Wedding Xcaret Park
Wedding at Grand Sunset Princess
Wedding at Blue Venado (we are featured vendors at this venue, we LOVE it!)
Wedding Isla Mujeres Zamas Beach
Wedding set-up at Paradisus
Just a taste of some of the magical places in the Riviera Maya where one can wed. Have you chosen your venue? Happy planning!

Previous posters are right on, as long as YOU are comfortable and like the dress, then rock on! Doing a trash the dress is not as easy as some may make it look, the dresses are heavy to begin with and once wet heavier still, you really have to be comfortable enough to forget about what you are wearing and focus on your love (which is really what we are capturing in these shoots of course!)
Is that a tulle overlay? Tulle is fabulous underwater!
Hope that helps! -
Hello ladies!
We'd like to give a shout out to Sara Tamargo of ST Makeup Artistry too, she does lovely work. We are also fans of The Styling Trio and MVP.
These photos are all the work of Sara....

Hello lovely wedding planners! We must agree, take your photographer's lead when choosing locations, we all have our favourite places and we understand the light and the locales that create magic. We at Del Sol are very fond of working in Playacar, with lush greenery, a small Maya archaeological site and a beautiful beach, it is an ideal location for portraits. Here are some of our faves from Playa del Carmen and Playacar.

Hi @@SusanMarie813,
Previous posters hit some great points, I would add the following:
1) What are the back-up options for ceremony/reception settings in case of weather issues.
2) How private are the venue settings for ceremony/reception? Will you be ok with other hotel guests observing?
3) Options for outside vendors is a key point for sure, what is the cost/policy?
4) What are the policies for guests coming to your wedding who may choose to stay at a different resort? (it happens!)
5) What upgrades are available for bride/groom? (Free champagne, spa treatments, etc)
6) Options for decor and the ability to personalize. Most hotels offer packages that are lovely, but sometimes you want to add your own touch.
And yes, will your guests enjoy the total vacation experience? Lots to think about, wishing you all the best!

Hello everyone,
Seeing as there is a thread for Tulum brides 2014, I thought I would start one for those of us planning weddings in 2015. I am planning a wedding for June and am trying to pin down a date for our small wedding. My fiancé is a teacher and several of our guests are teachers so we are trying to work around school schedules (the earlier in June-the better!). I joined other wedding sites a few years ago when we got engaged but have found this one to be the most helpful! Looking forward to taking with other Tulum or Mayan Riveria brides for 2015.
Congratulations on the upcoming wedding, Tulum is an amazing choice, one of our very favourite places to celebrate weddings! Intimate, cozy, chic and romantic and so many venues to choose from! Have you narrowed down your site?
Here are some more Tulum weddings and some photo inspiration (particularly for anyone feeling cold today!)
Please let us know how we can assist in your planning, all the best!

Great photos, Matt! I appreciate you writing back regarding my questions
As a preferred vendor, does that mean Del Sol is recommended by BV, or you are considered the photographer for their ALL IN wedding packages?
Or what does your connection to BV entail?
Thanks!
Hi Acosta!
We are working together in partnership with Blue Venado, we are their "recommended" photographer, but we are not included in the "all in" package. We are recommending Blue Venado as one of our FAVE venues too, it's a great partnership that we are very excited to be a part of!
We are here to help, let us know if we can do anything for you!

Hello Blue Venado planners! We are excited to announce that yes indeed, we ARE partnering with Blue Venado as preferred vendors! Del Sol Photography is very familiar with the venue and we are so pleased to be able to work with Blue Venado brides and grooms. The wedding coordinators at Blue Venado are phenomenal and each event is personalized, unique, and beautiful, the needs and desires of the couples are met and exceeded. The setting is totally private, a great bonus, it is your very own site for your big day! The beach is calm and perfect for intimate ceremonies and the palapa restaurant for receptions is "rustic chic" and can be decorated to match your style. Please see our post on Blue Venado weddings and have a look at some of these photos too....
We look forward to sharing many more Blue Venado weddings, please let us know how we can assist in your planning! Cheers!

Puerto Aventuras has some great private villas for really personalized weddings. We have shot some fantastic weddings in Hacienda del Mar, a gorgeous property for intimate weddings! We'd love to be there to capture your big day, please let us know how we can help.

I completely agree with Tammy and Matt! LeBlanc is a great resort for your wedding. This place is luxury to the fullest and we were so happy with how our wedding turned out. Their wedding planners are amazing and the food was spectacular. Nothing but great compliments from all of our guests. Also Del Sol are the best photographers to work with for those lasting memories.
Thanks amiga, we are so honored to have been a part of your big day!

LeBlanc Resort in Cancun really is a luxurious wedding venue and for a photographer, it's dreamy! Great beach, the architecture of the hotel is stunning and you get some incredible sunsets over the lagoon (on the East Coast, sometimes sunsets are harder to come by!)
Here are a few shots of our recent wedding with @@NJBride2014, you can see the whole LeBlanc Cancun Wedding on the blog and read her Del Sol Photography review too (gracias amiga!)

Thanks @@jsparrow10 we really appreciate the shout out!
As an update for my previous post- My new sister in law found out that her due date is incredibly close to our wedding in Mexico.
Her parents told us last night that they, along with my FI's grandparents won’t be able to make it.
As difficult of a decision to make, my FI didn't feel right about getting married without his mother and grandmother.
We ended up needing to cancel our wedding reservations, but we are still planning on taking the vacation to Mexico.
I still want to do something in Mexico for our wedding, and want to do a trash the dress session for a wedding photo album (I can't help but feel that a trash the dress would have incredible symmetry to the situation we are in)
Does anyone have any good ideas, location tips, references for a trash the dress session in the Riviera Maya Mexico??
@@BusyBee280 We would love to convert you to a mermaid bride! Here are a few of our trash the dress images. Please contact us at [email protected] and we'll be happy to help!
