Hello Hard Rock brides! Thanks Curlygirlinpearl for sharing our links, so kind of you! The original poster of this thread GadyInc was such a terrific bride and we thank her for sharing this Del Sol Photography Review here on BDWF!~ Here are just a few shots from her pretty day. The timing of weddings in Cancun is important as you do lose the light at different hours during different seasons, definitely listen to the coordinators advice on this!
We look forward to shooting more Hard Rock Cancun weddings, happy planning ladies!

Hello you lovely Grand Palladium planners! We've just published a new Grand Palladium Wedding on the blog, thought I would share some inspirational photos. Elaine and Egan had a simply beautiful day, ceremony on the beach in the Kantenah Pergola and reception in "La Laguna" restaurant. So much emotion in their photos, please be sure to see the whole slideshow in the blog! The "first look" photo of groom Egan crying was featured in a HuffPost Weddings article and we couldn't be happier! For now, just a taste...
Happy planning!

Hello lovers! Wanted to share with you some recent photos of a wedding at Hotel Esencia in the Riviera Maya, set on one of our favourite beaches in the region. This is a dynamite venue for an intimate destination wedding. Great service, beautiful grounds, amazing food, top notch all the way. This wedding was very emotional, the Cosmic Mayan Ceremony with Maria and Charlie is so very special. Leann of LM Weddings did a fantastic job as wedding coordinator! To see the whole slideshow, click Hotel Esencia Wedding. Congrats to Caroline and Tyler and thanks so much for inviting us to share this day!
Anyone planning an Esencia wedding? Happy travels everyone!

Love the idea of treating everyone to a tour, so many great things to see in the Riviera Maya! With the XelHa trip, transportation should be included, I would contact their call center directly and ask about logistics or ask to speak with someone in group sales. You'll often do better with direct phone communication than emails.
Most tours do run about $100 USD per head (or more). Even with a discount. You could try contacting some of the "lesser known" places directly and try to make a deal, I would check out Rio Secreto (amazing place!), Hidden Worlds, Aktunchen, Aventuras Mayas (some great tours with them).
As the pp poster said, there are ways to rent transportation and check out Akumal, Tulum, etc..
Good luck!

Congrats to everyone planning their 2014 Dreams Cancun weddings! It is a beautiful spot for a destination wedding, they are real pros at what they do too. The gazebo is so picturesque, great place for a ceremony. Just to give you a little taste, here's a peek at the Dreams Cancun wedding of Channing and Jordan (click the link for all the photos!)

We loooove villa weddings, so intimate and an incredible way to really personalize your wedding.
The Hacienda del Mar mentioned by courtyardbride is a great option, here are some more photos for inspiration!
First, the Hacienda del Mar Riviera Maya wedding of Jenna and Nick
Next, the gorgeous Riviera Maya Hacienda del Mar wedding of Juan Carlos and Juah, wow!
There are many, many villa options to choose from, Puerto Aventuras, Akumal, Playa del Carmen, Tulum...almost harder to choose one than a regular resort but a FABULOUS idea! Happy planning!

Hi Tracy16!
With outside vendor fees it is always best to check directly with the hotel as they make changes pretty frequently. Please have a look at a recent Grand Sunset Princess wedding of BDWF member KorenAnn, just gorgeous! Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have, we'd love to help!

Ladies, we have had a fantastic summer full of trash the dress shoots! Here is a peek at some of the latest for your inspiration!
Gina and Christopher were soooo great to work with, they had a fun cenote trash the dress shoot (and actually got down to their birthday suits, some NSFW photos in the link, just FYI!)
Reyna and McKenzie were a simply GORGEOUS couple, we had an amazing time shooting their cenote and beach trash the dress. Again, super open-minded and daring, more NSFW photos in the slideshow (they are awesome and hot boudoir style shots!)
Finally, the cenote trash the dress session with Allison and Dennis, more great underwater fun!
Hope you are all having a terrific time planning, who's going to be our next mermaid bride?

Also, I'd be curious to hear from Matt and other photographers if this venue posed a challenge because it is so private (and dark at night).
With any venue, the ambient lighting sets the mood. Sometimes its as simple as candlelight... lanters, globes, or string lights (very simple) like christmas lights. For very cheap, these kind of lights can make a big big difference if you are interested in the DIY style.
OR, the venue will likely have a lighting package (and this may be costly) to have a crew, generator, and special PAR lamps, LED's, and other very bright lamps installed to light each pilar, palapas, etc and of course, a few light stands on the dance floor. This kind of stuff is pretty impt...
At the end of the day, we photograph with a style that has light included. We use multiple flashes when photographing couples to be able to make a very dark place look illuminated. So ultimately, we just light what we see, regardless if there is or is not ambient and the photos will turn out fine.
Try though if you can to get some ambient lights installed. If you have any vases on the tables and use floating candles, don't fill them with water to the top because the wind will blow them out. If you can, find WHITE christmas lights to string around... the bigger the lamps, the more light output. Get creative if you can!
Good luck!

Hi EvySF! Al Cielo is one of our favourite wedding venues, intimate, "rustic elegance", one of the prettiest stretches of beach around. The service and attention is outstanding. We recently shot a wedding at Al Cielo with Reyna and McKenzie, click the link for the whole slideshow, here are a few for inspiration!
Happy planning!

Hello wedding planners and lovers! We have recently shot a couple of weddings at the Zama Beach Club on Isla Mujeres and wanted to share some photos with you for inspiration. Isla Mujeres is a small island across from Cancun, a great destination wedding locale for something intimate. The Zama Beach club is beautiful, "rustic elegance" you could call it. One of our favourite things about weddings here is the chance to have some great sunset shots (not always possible in Cancun or the Riviera Maya as we're on the East Coast).
Check out the Isla Mujeres Zama Beach Club wedding of Kristy and John first! Kristy was kind enough to share her review of Del Sol Photography, thanks amiga! We had another great shoot with Gina and Christopher for their Isla Mujeres Zama Beach Club Wedding, check it out!
Happy planning!!

Hello "Dreamy" planners! We've just published our latest Dreams Riviera Cancun wedding, thought I would share some pics! Such a gorgeous venue! The gazebo is truly unique, different than a chupah or typical gazebo setting. This was such a pretty wedding, be sure to check out the whole slideshow in the link posted!

Hi lizzieqball!
There are so many options for unique weddings in this area! If you are set on an all inclusive (for the ease of your guests, etc), talk openly with your coordinator about wanting something DIFFERENT. Many places will go out of their way to make your day totally special.
You may consider something really unique, we recently shot a wedding in Pueblo Sacbe and Villas Valhalla in Akumal. Villas are a fab way to make the wedding truly personal! Here are some photos, be sure to click here for Unique Riviera Maya Wedding.
You might also consider a cosmic ceremony in a cenote, very unique way to celebrate your love! Click here for the Cenote Cosmic Wedding!
You could also look at beach clubs, haciendas, other villas, churches. Hope this helps inspire, happy planning!
