  3. So gals, my friend is having her briday shower/bachelorette party next weekend in chicago. The theme of the shower is "Room to Room" and my room is "office" However, out of the 4 registries they have there is not a single thing for their office. So what the heck should I get them?

    Hi ladies

Hi and welcome! IMO you have two of the toughest things done: date and location!!
  8. I have to say wait on this one. I know it's so tempting and such a good deal. But I think it's like tempting fate. Planning before being engaged is one thing (I know I totally did it!) but I think buying a dress is on a whole different playing field.
  9. aww Michelle that sucks. Picking a date is almost as hard a picking a location. When we set our we asked those most important to us if they thought they could make that date and then we set it. There's no way you'll please everyone, and sounds like you've already come to terms with that. Now the question is how far will you go to find a date where your closest family/friends can make it? When we started picking a location/date we had blow outs too! It's tough and we talked about eloping for a long time. The only thing that help us back from that is that I would totally regret not walking down the isle with my family and few close friends there. Otherwise we totally would have done it. Good luck! It will pass, just stick with it!
  10. yeay!! welcome! you'll love having so much time to plan and will get sooo many ideas from here!!!

It's not more expensive now They are offering tours on Sundays now, but from what I gather Sundays are slower and so there is only one tour. Thus allowing our wedding to start earlier. And if, for some reason, there isn't a tour at all that Sunday we can basically pick our wedding times. But either way, we have more daylight so it works out perfect! Above, is why i'm so glad we chose las caletas. upon voicing my concerns kelley came back with the sunday option and it works out perfect! yeay!
  12. YEAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad to hear that everything went well! Can't wait to see pictures!
  13. Wow good tips ladies! We use garlic all the time and i hate how it makes your fingers stinky for days!
  14. Welcome! Happy planning!
  15. ok girls, update! we've got it all situated and under control! yeay! moving to Sunday 11/2 gives us more time and more sunlight. So glad to have it all sorted out and behind us. I was touch and go for a day or two! Now that i'm into this wedding planning a bit i'm SOOOOOOOO GLAD we picked a place with responsive and great WCs. I probably would have flown to PV and strangled the dreams lady by now. I guess I am a little more high maintance than i thought i was! oops! Also Lindsay, thank you for posting that picutre of the palms at las caletas. We used it for our STDs and they turned out great!
  16. Hey, i'm not a DR bride anymore, but when I was the info I found was that the fees for the judge had gone up and were around 500 bucks, and then translating it all was pretty spendy and time consuming. I know one couple waited 3 months for their marriage certificate

Put it in photoshop, then wrote my text over the picture. The back I made. I was pretty nervous, since I'm newer to photoshop, about how they would turn out but IMHO they look perfect! I may be a bit biased, but I was SOOO proud of myself!
