  1. I love 95% of what I do. I'm an event planner, and I definitely wouldn't leave the industry. It's a fun and exciting job, always different and I meet a ton of really great people. The 5% that I don't like is A. I work a crap load of hours on B. a small salary. But I can't complain. I chose this job (my last jobs didn't have crazy hours or bad pay) but at this job I have a family at work. And being in a new state, having great girls to work with makes a huge difference. Plus I love the job, so really I'll take the crap pay and a good job over good pay and a suck ass job. Which was my last job! Ha!

So we thought we'd lessen the guests anxiety and do a seating chart. ( I could toally be wrong about the anxiety of finding a place to sit, but for me personally I hate walking around figuring out where to sit)
  5. you guys are cracking me up! I never really noticed that he is kind of staring you down! Ha!

I totally agree with this! I love when I see brides with short, cute cuts wearing it the same for the wedding. Something about it just screams personality to me. Plus you already have a "style" for your hair, so why not use it for the wedding too?
  7. We have 43 people booked and we're doing a seat your self kind of ceremony. Also, 90% of the wedding is from my side, so it might look kinda funny if we sat people the traditional way. IMO seating yourself is totally ok, and probably preferred by a lot of people.
  8. Ha! I know what you mean. This is the first forum I've really belonged too. I joined the knot and weddingbells but never really saw anything to keep my hooked. But this place.. man from Day 1 I've been addicted. There are so many great ideas! I hardly do anything wedding realted by myself anymore! I come here for ideas, opinions, advice, etc.
  9. I'm so over my WEDDING!!! I'm so sick of speding so much time on wedidng crap!!! I want my life back! However, I just told this to my MOH - who was just married last december, and she said "Yeah, I was like that too, but once it was over I totally missed it. So enjoy it while you can!" Good perspective, and I have to keep reminding myself of this advice when I try (for the 100th time) to do my seating chart.
  10. I just decided to make luggage tags, and I was thinking of using this turtle picture for a few of the tags. FI hates it. I like it - has some symbolic meaning - MOH loves turtles. What do you think? Is this picture creapy? Weird? Good?

  12. warning - about to vent a little. I hate my seating chart!! It's so hard!! We have 43 people going. 75% of the group is my mom's family. Then we have a wierd variety of "kids". ie 1 11 year old, 2 13 year olds, 2 16 year old, 1 18 year old. Do they all go at one table? But then there is the issue of FI's brothers. One is 27, the other is 18. FI thinks they should sit together. Wouldn't it be weird to put a table of late 20s/early 30s together and then a random 18 year old? Seriously. Why is this so hard?
  13. good question! I'm curious how to get 50 fragile starfish to mexico without them breaking!
  14. Ha! Thanks Maura! Your ring is really pretty! I love the way yours looks. I think the difference between yours and the one I saw at the store is the one at the store had a much more pronounced cathedral setting... If that makes sense. wish I would have taken a picture of it. The sides came up to almost the middle of the diamond setting, and there was a gap in between the diamond and the band. Gosh, this is hard to explain! But the empty spaces under the cathedral part of the band, and where you finger is, was a lot larger than on your ring. It was almost as if the setting as the main focus of the ring. That's what I had a hard time with. I asked them if they could close the "gap" but they said no.
  15. it looks great! i love that the ttd pictures are in there as well.

Yes please! I'd love to see all of your cathedral set rings!!!
  17. i just donated some points to you. you get points by reading and posting.. i'm sure someone will post a link to all the point details.
  18. Happy wedding Amy and Hans! Hope everything turns out perfect! Can't wait to hear about it! Congrats!!!
  19. Hi girls. The jeweler we spoke with said that Cathedral set helps protect the diamond from being snagged on things. But really don't all e rings snag on stuff? Like when you go to put your hand in your pocket you have to adjust for the ring anyway.
  20. Hi, happy 4th of July!! Just curious how many people have Cathedral set rings. FI and I are considering trading in my E ring, and I found a new one I really like, but it's Cathedral and I'm not sure how I feel about that Here's the ring I'm talking about: http://www.bluenile.com/assets/produ...00600_zoom.jpg
  21. I used Spanx for a wedding I was in recently. I bought the ones that go up to your bra, and then down to your mid thigh area. I HATED them. They were so tight around my ribs that I nearly passed out during the ceremony. Right after the ceremony I went into the limo's bathroom and took them off and threw them away. There was no way in hell I was going to wear them for the rest of the night. Oh, I also bought according to the sizing chart on the website. IMO, it was a total waste of 75 bucks.
