P.S. I put the pics on "Message Board" (down from 800 x 600 to 640 x 480) size because I like to see the details. If these are too large let me know and I will scale them down to "Email" size (320 x 240) Mayan Palace: Views from The Westin - Walking up to the Jetty from The Westin - The Jetty - View to the left when standing on Jetty - View to the right when standing on Jetty - -
First off, the reception/ceremony area is BEAUTIFUL. Loved it!!! Like Edna (Mora) said, this place is made for weddings. I love the fact that you can get married, eat and dance the night away all in the same close vicinity. I took tons of pics for you ladies (hope it's not too many!). Priscilla from Prisar was our guide. She seemed to really know her stuff here - all the staff knew her and seemed to like her which is a big plus! I did have a little trouble understanding her because of her strong accent but overall it was not a big problem - just make sure you ask for clarification on anything you don't understand. I love the jetty - it's really breathtaking. My favorite part was standing out on the furthest point where a bride and groom would stand. The views are incredible. The only thing was that the ground is a little uneven for me but I guess that is to be expected. I wouldn't recommend high heels because of this. Btw, I think she said you can fit around 70-80 ppl on the jetty which seemed like a lot to me. I'd say around 50 comfortably, but then again I don't get paid for this For the ceremony she said we could either set up A) on the little reception terrace with candles filling the beach (sand) area or on the beach. Since we are having a smaller wedding I definitely would have gone with the entire reception (cocktails, dinner & dancing) on the terrace/lounge area. I love the idea of candles filling the beach. FYI I think she said you would need 1 outside light source if you went this route and 2-3 if you do it on the beach (this costs extra). Bottom line was that FI really preferred to not have the wedding at a hotel. This is why we decided to go with Las Caletas instead of Mayan Palace. However, I must say I was VERY torn. If we were to have done it on the mainland I would have been in love with this location. If you have any questions please post in here and I will do my best to answer them! NOW, onto the pics! (Bare with me here, there are a LOT)

I just wanted to update the situation w/ Prisar. Edna was sooo nice to bring my situation up with Priscilla when she spoke with her. Priscilla emailed me today and apparently she has not been receiving my emails. Kinda odd, but I guess sh*t happens... Anyways, she wrote a nice email to me today asking if we had made a decision. I let her know we have chosen Las Caletas for the ceremony and Terra Noble for our WD, and asked her if she would be able to help us plan the WD and if so to please send pricing info. Hopefully things will continue to go well! I will update y'all on the progress.

I hope you get some good news on Monday!! I'm keeping you in my thoughts!! Thanks ladies - actually, I've felt hardly any pain at all today!!!! Don't wanna jinx it, but maybe it's working it's way out! Just in case, I stayed home from work tonight and am on the beer Rx -

(Basically just 1 xray shot instead of hundreds) It went fine I go back to the doc on Monday so we'll see what she says. A stint just sounds AWFUL!! Hopefully it'll hurry up and get out of there before the doc can even speak those words... Quote: Originally Posted by Nrvsbride Jaime I am so sorry that you are going through all this. If you suffer from a lot of ailments then you def should invest in insurance. I'm sending you lots of healthy vibes. Best of luck I hope you pass that stone quickly. Now get to drinking that beer! Me and my Aunt aren't on the best of terms right now. I just got money out for school and she said I can't take anything else out until June. It's really complicated. Also, I did try and get on a cheaper form of health insurance but I was rejected due to high blood pressure. Ahhh yes, onto the beer! I think I'm really going to give that a try this weekend... -

(Sorry if that title doesn't make sense - I wasn't sure how to word it) Is anyone else having this problem? Ex.: It shows on my thread "UGH!! So Tired of Doctors..." that the latest post is by Ms.B 2008 but when I click on "Last Page" her post does not show up. This happened to me with a few different threads throughout the day. It took a little while but finally the posts showed up - they were just delayed.

How crappy that you got such a crabby clerk for your "official" marriage! Congrats on taking the plunge though!!!! -

The information I read was in a packet I got from this Holistic Doctor that my Dad swears by. My Dad now has the packet so I don't have it on hand unfortunately... I found it really interesting though. I will ask my Dad for it next time I see him. P.S. It did NOT directly correlate to pregnancy, just general overall health.

First off, I finally have a bit of good news to share - my Dad's friend & business partner OWNS an imaging/diagnostic center. It's been up and down so we weren't sure if he still owned it but he does and he got me in today! For FREE!!! Hallelujah! They couldn't really tell me what they saw but at least I have it to take to my doc on monday so she can have a better clue of what's goin' on. It's definitely still in there - :/. I can't wait to get back to normal. I hate that I'm probably going to have to stay home from work tomorrow night too. Just got off the phone with my boss and she said at least tentatively she's going to have me take the night off. I guess I didn't realize how much I've been getting into my job lately - that's a good thing, just funny that I'm bummed about having to take a night off Quote: Originally Posted by foxytv Even if its not moving out on its own, the laser procedure to break up the stone is really simple and painless. Yeah... it's been 5-6 weeks now... :/ Quote: Originally Posted by foxytv No, passing it won't hurt at all. All you will feel is RELIEF b/c the pain and discomfort is INSTANTLY gone. My treat to myself after this is all over is to go get a lymphatic draining/detoxifying massage - ahhhhhh Quote: Originally Posted by starfish kate Aw Jaime.... I wish I could take the pain away! Your health is so much more important than the money. Maybe cut out OOT bags or something because you need to get healthy! Good luck girl! Keep us updated. You're in my thoughts! Yikes - I had my appendix out too when I was about 10. Now that was miserable! Yuck! The thing is, I don't even have a wedding budget yet to cut in to. I get trust fund money on my 25th birthday (this June) but until then I'm pretty much on my own for things like this without insurance. I'm a full time student so I only work part time. I get paid well but no benefits. I cannot WAIT to get a job with BENEFITS!!!! Luckily my Grandma stepped in and offered to pay for me to see the Urologist. YAY for Grandma!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks for all of your sweet thoughts. I'm so thankful you girls are here for me to b*tch and moan to throughout all of this. -

Ugh, ok one more thing to add to the list. My doctor recommended me to a place to have the CT scan done and she said it would be <$100 there. Well, I just called this place to check and they said it would be anywhere from $235-345 and that they would need to do TWO - abdomen and pelvic. That would be a minimum of almost $500. I told them the price my doc had quoted me and they said they've never done anything for less than $100. I called the doc's office & she's not in today or tomorrow but I had them leave a message with her nurse to call me back and let me know if they just want one or the other (abdominal or pelvic) or both... Totally stressed out right now. -

So today I will go in for a CT scan so they can take a look around and see what's going on. I'm getting nervous about this. It doesn't feel like the stone has moved at all this week - it's been stuck in the same place for at least 3 wks. now. I tried driving out to school on Tuesday (we had Monday off thank goodness) but I felt really loopy on the drive out there and by the time I got near the campus (30 min drive) I had to call Martin crying because it hurt so bad. I had taken the Naproxen but it wasn't doing anything at all so I had to come home and take the Vicodin. I've emailed all my teachers and luckily they seem to understand but I've already missed 2 quizzes and it's only the 2nd week. This will be my 3rd day staying home. The pain is fine as long as I lay down (did that all day yesterday) but as soon as I get up and start moving around or sit up straight for a long period of time it gets really achy. I hope it's not stuck... Or that it's something worse... Ugh, ok I'm letting my imagination get the best of me. -
Reception prices more than double what I thought

Sheesh! Ready to give a DW another try?? LOL Seriously though, that is expensive! Do you think you are going to have to switch locations? -
I would like to nominate Edna (Mora) for BtB. She is such a sweetie - always supportive and always helps out whenever she can. For Mrs. I'd like to nominate Christine & Christa. Both have been active members of the forum since I've joined and have always been very welcoming. Christine does great work with her mod job. Christa always gives great advice. Thanks for all your help and support ladies!
