I'm glad they caught your hypo- and are able to treat it! Is the medicine you are taking at all like Synthroid in that once you start it you have to take it always? I'm nervous because the area around my thyroid is enlarged. If you touch that area it feels like there are two lumps on either side of my esophagus. Hypothyroidism can cause goiters. My grandma's friend had to have one removed as well. When I went to my school's gyno the other week (they like to rope you down for a full physical there since you have to go every year to get BC prescription) she paused on my thyroid and had me swallow like 5 times. I thought it was a little odd but didn't really think anything more of it until I heard of this. She did order a full blood cell count test, which came back fine. I'm scared but maybe I should just break down and go see the Endocrinologist.... ughhhhh doctors Tami, did you experience any symptoms or just the growth?

Martha & Christa, Have either of you checked this book out?? Amazon.com: Hypothyroidism Type 2: The Epidemic: M.D., Mark Starr: Books Christa, I know you already know the issues I've had with my health since we went through some of the same things at the same time. Basically it boils down to SEVERE fatigue, muscle pain, weakness, decreased immune system, etc. etc. etc. I've been struggling with this since May of '07 (after a wisdom teeth removal surgery gone wrong). Welllll, my Dad went to see his friend who works for a well known holistic doctor (his name is Dr. Tennant) and happened to mention what I have been going through. She said it almost certainly sounds like it's my thyroid, and had my Dad get this book along with a small vile of Iodine. The way you can test for it at home is to put a drop of iodine on your wrist and see if it fully absorbs into your skin within 24 hours. My Dad did it and it was gone in about 12 hours. I did it and it disappeared within 5 hours!!! Gosh, all of this is making soooo much sense! Christa, that supplement you are taking sounds familiar. I read a book on Adrenal Fatigue (which can definitely be related to hypothyroidism) and it mentioned supplementing with bovine adrenal tissue. I thought "ewww!" lol But now it is all starting to make sense. I am SO down for going the "naturopathic" route on this one!! I've been to about a dozen different "regular" docs over the past year and the general consensus has been that it was all "in my head". One doc (at CareNow) flat out told me that I had a mental disorder because I broke down crying in his office! You can imagine how traumatizing that was. Anyways, I thought I would try a long shot by doing a search on here for this and I'm so glad it came up with you two and your stories. How are/did each of your meds/supplements work for the two of you?? In that book I mentioned I believe he mentions supplementing with Iodine and a hormone supplement (can't remember what it's called, my Dad has the book right now...). My Dad has also shown symptoms over the years of this (candida, chronic fatigue, depression, etc.) and we both tested positive for it given the self screening in the book so he is going on the therapy with me. I will let y'all know what we find out. If this does not work I may be going to see an Endocrinologist in Denton that one of my Grandma's friends recommended. I am glad to know that if I do have to go this route, I can tell them *exactly* what to test for based on your advice/descriptions. Thank you! Btw, it's interesting when I bring up the subject how many people I know that have this. All have been women, and most were also told by docs that it was "just in their head". What a shame... I hope you both are doing much better! It looks like it's been almost exactly a year (weird) since your last post, Martha. I would love to hear updates!!

Is it bad luck to tell anyone that youre pregnant....

No way silly - that's what we're here for! ARE YOU PREGO?!? -
Welcome Ashleigh There are lots of us Texas girls on here now. Enjoy the forum!

I just ordered mine from Vista Print! I designed them (someone on here lent me the background image - I'm so sorry I can't remember who right now but you know who you are and Thank You!!!). They are the "large" size magnets (about 4x5"). I got them for 50% off - 100 for $49.99, and splurged for the 3 day shipping so they should be here within the next week or so!

I just went over to my Dad's house to show him, and by the time I got back the site wide sale went down from 50% off to 25% off. booooo *Edit* Ahhh, phew! I managed to "trick" the website by going through a couple different links from other websites offering coupons. The first time it acted like it was going to give me the 50% discount, but when I put my CC info in it said the total would be 100 for $79.99 (instead of the original $49.99). Screw that! So I went to another site and its link and it worked! I got them for $49.99! So I splurged on the 3 day shipping which was kind of outrageous ($30+). Anyways, I finally got out of there for a total of $87.98. They even took 50% off of the $4.99 image upload cost. I'm happy I'm guessing these don't come with envelopes since it didn't mention that anywhere... does anyone else know the answer to this? I'm sure I could easily find some inexpensive envelopes for 4x5" (app.) magnets... Does anyone know the shipping cost on these "large" magnets?

(I just don't recommend purchasing popular items during their big sales, grumble grumble...) Anyways, here it is: SkinStore.com (link to the Boscia products) https://www.skinstore.com/store/category.asp?CatID=9325 Overall, I'd say the Boscia brand is a great compromise money wise between pharmacy/drug store and hoity toity ($$$) skin care lines

I totally have been meaning to tell you about this product sample I got from Sephora. I’ll send you the link to it. This stuff is SERIOUSLY amazing. It helps to clear up pimples AND reduce the signs of sun damage and aging. I haven’t seen my complexion look this good in a LONG while. It’s really great! Sephora has a good selection of natural and/or organic products. And they're GREAT about giving out samples....so definitely hit them up if there's a product you're interested in. Fragrance, Cosmetics & the Finest Facial Skin Care Product Selection at Sephora.com Funny you mention this because I just spent two hours in Sephora! LOL I bought Boscia's Clear Complexion Cleanser with Botanical Blast ($22). A gay guy walking by shouted "Love it!" so I guess that's a good sign, lol. I also got sample's of Bocia's Clear Complexion Tonic with Botanical Blast and the Clear Complexion Treatment with Botanical Blast. I meant to get a sample of their oil free spf moisturizer but didn't. My Clairisonic Skin Care Brush is coming in the mail tomorrow and I'm so excited to use it with the Boscia facial cleanser! I also shopped around for different makeup because the Bare Minerals is a little too shiny for me. I actually ended up purchasing Clinique's City Block Sheer (Oil free "daily face protector" with 25 SPF) and Clinique's Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder (oil free). However, they still have a lot of junk in them so I think I am going to return them and just stick with Bare Minerals for daytime use. (Hopefully with all these new oil free products I'm using the BM won't be quite as shiny...) I will probably break down and buy some foundation with better coverage for night time/photos but will probably go with a brand like MAC. I am still torn with the SkinMedica Retinol Complex that I like so much. I think it rated a "4" on that site - not too bad... but I know a brand like Boscia would probably be better. Rachelle I think I will give that other Boscia product that your friend is raving about a try. Couldn't hurt... (famous last words, right? ) At least I've switched my face soap to an all natural brand. One step at a time

I've never been to Manny's so really I don't care. Does everyone else still want to host it there?? Btw, this is the "for sure" list this time around (please copy and add your name as you RSVP): - Sandra - Jaime - Lisa - Richelle Christina, I'm so sorry we're going to miss you this time around However a bridal shower is definitely a good excuse (Btw, has Maria ever checked in on this??)

http://www.cosmeticdatabase.com/brow...ducts&start=20 This site has really inspired me to switch brands. The Kinerase Moisturizer I use right now is a 5 on a scale of 0-10. The SkinMedica Retinol Complex I have been considering buying is a 4. Hmmm, I dunno though - this site also says that Dr.Hauschka's products range as high as a 7... This is really confusing!!!

I want to say that the large size comes to like $1 per magnet. I thought that was inexpensive. I never checked the prices on that other website that you mentioned though. I'm also guessing that if you need more than 50 you save money- that's usually how these things work. Thanks Yamille! It's not really about the price, since the majority of the sites I've been to only fluctuate within $25 (at the most) for 150 magnets. I'd rather get the best quality, and of course if I can upload my own photo that is great! I don't know how I missed this on VistaPrint! I spent hours researching this last night... hmmm, off to go check this out on VP. Thanks again, I will let you know if I need help figuring this out

I'm also a Memorial day weekend 2009 bride! I definitely checked out VistaPrint as well as Magnet Street. However, I couldn't find a place that would let me customize it without a surcharge of around $75 (that's almost the amount for the entire order!). Yamille, did you have to pay extra to create your own?? This is the pic that we would love to use if we could customize our own...

Just wondering if anyone here has ordered from this site (I tried searching/looking but haven't seen anything about this particular site yet...) Save the Date Wedding Magnets - Free Shipping - Photo Magnets - Custom Save the Date Magnet We need to get our STDs out and are surprised at how time consuming it has been to find a "beachy" design that is also clean and sharp. You can order a sample for $3 off of this site but it would take 10 days to get here and we need to get this ball rolling! This is the design we're looking at: I was also wondering if this is the typical material used for these types of magnets: Quote: Description: This magnet is printed on glossy paper and attached to a magnetic backing. No assembly required. (2 X 3.5") 150 magnets = $123
