  1. Wow! Absolutely beautiful!! I felt like I was there! And Sol....your engagement ring is GORGEOUS!

I believe the reception area you are talking about is Gaviotas, which is near the casita section, which is kind of a far walk from the Gazebo, but really, during your stay you will be doing a lot of walking!! I got ready in our casita (3030), our ceremony was at 55 (the complete opposite end of our casita), then dinner at El Cocotal (which was in the lobby), then cocktail hour at the Health Bar (near the casita section) and finally ended up at Guacamayas!!!! Needless to say we pretty much covered the resort. It really wasn't that bad, but just remember- THEY DO NOT OFFER RESERVED SHUTTLES, and there aren't near enough shuttles running as there should be. And, you will see one about every 20 minutes, so in that amount of time, you can walk where ever you were headed!! Anyways, if it is Gaviotas, I don't think I would really worry about the walk. There is the beach bar on the way which everyone can stop at and grab a cocktail for the walk! Welcome Back and Congratulations, Sheaa!!! Hope your wedding was more than you had expected it to be!

  4. That's simply perfect for your dress! What a beautiful, beautiful veil!
  5. My florist who is doing my AHR reception flowers just gave me an early wedding present. She made a bouquet out of seashells for me to take (if I wanted to) to my DW. I think it's the absolute sweetest gesture in the world, yet I don't know if anyone has used anything like this as their bouquet. I'm sure it took her hours of work to do and I would love to be able to preserve the bouquet that I used on my wedding day forever. What do you think of it? Would it be weird to have this instead of real flowers? I'll try to paste an image of what it looks like here....
  6. I really loved the video! You both looked awesome and it was really cool to see how the pictures come together!
  7. Congratulations, Bre and Pete!! Hope your wedding was even better than you had dreamed it to be!
  8. These are all such great stories! I love hearing about the different viewpoints and your personal stories - thanks!
  9. All of these responses are very helpful! I figured that most would spend the night (especially if you lived together), but didn't know if people would have done it differently if they could do it again. I think we'll just do that and then split up the morning of the wedding until the ceremony. I'm assuming that you or your FI changed in someone else's room, though?
  10. Ok - this is a very random question.....but did you and your FI spend the night together the night before your wedding? Granted, my FI and I live together, but just wondered if everyone else just spent the night together beforehand or did something different...... Also, as for the wedding day, what did you do? Spend time together, hang out with guests, or just spend the whole day getting ready?
  11. Hi Jennifer...I'm getting married the same day you are! The following day (the 24th) we are transfering to EDR for our honeymoon. Good luck with wedding planning! Hi there! So you're doing a mid-week wedding, as well! That's great! I hope your planning is going well, too! Just a bit more than three months to go! Yikes!
  12. Hi - I know what you're going through b/c I went through it, too, when I first starting planning my wedding at EDR. I didn't experience the rudeness, though, but I did feel like we were being nickeled and dimed on everything and felt as though our hands were completely tied. I decided to stick w/ EDR b/c I had never heard one single bad review of an EDR wedding AFTER the couple returned - in fact, everyone (every single person) said how wonderful it had turned out. My travel agent (who loves EDR) has helped by keeping me calm and telling me that everything will work out perfectly for my wedding, too. And after I accepted that the wedding business is simply big business in which you have little room to negotiate (you do have a little, though), I relaxed. However, you need to do what's best for you - if you continue to feel stressed and uncomfortable about it, then look into other venues....it's not like there aren't a TON of terrific alternatives out there!

I believe that we're getting package 3 for $2200 or something around that range. We're also getting the special highlights video ($250) and the videographer services (for $600 or so). Let me know if you have any more questions.

I am looking for feedback on photographer. Did anyone have the one on site or can you recommend anyone off site? That is my main dilemma at this time. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Tracy I'm using Claudia Rodriguez - so far, so good - I liked her work and she fit into my budget. She's also very friendly and pretty responsive. Claudia Rodriguez, Photographer, Cancun & Riviera Maya

As for the search feature, I get the blank screen when I do the basic search. Try the advanced search and just put your search terms in the window on the advanced screen - your search should then work.
  16. I think you need to book any beauty appointments before you get there. I was under the impression that we need to schedule this stuff when we order stuff like flowers and other decorations....
  17. Great question! I have been wondering the same thing!
  18. On another note - for those of you who already are married, did you have a female or a male minister? We assumed that we were going to have a male, so I was surprised when I learned it was a female....just curious.....

Yeah, I'm kind of torn as to which one to choose....I'm a traditional girl, so I'll probably end up going that route, but I do like the modern one, as well. I had originally just emailed my WC (Monica) to ask about how the ceremony goes. She contacted the minister who emailed me with the information. She did mention something about signing something during the ceremony, but I don't think we'll have to do that since we're just having the symbolic one.... guess we'll find out!
  21. Here's some more info and info on what the vows are: Hola Jennifer: Yes, I will have the honor of conducting your ceremony. There are three moments during which music is played, in all cases the choice of music to be played is yours. The first is to walk down the isle - Processional - (one song for the bridesmaids and one for you), another song to be played during the signing of the wedding certificate and another one when you walk out – Recessional. The standard vows I use state: I _________ take you __________ to be my wife/husband, I pledge myself to you, to be your ever faithful wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, in laughter and in tears, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, I give you, and only you, my mind, my body and my heart, I promise to love unconditionally and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live. Or these more modern: I, __________, take you, ____________, to be my wife/husband, my partner in life and my one true love I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever I will trust you and honor you, I will laugh with you and cry with you I will love you faithfully through the best and the worst, the difficult and the easy Whatever may come, I will always be there As I give you my hand to hold, I give you my heart to keep. The choice is yours, Let me know what you decide, Best regards and blessings, Alina
