  1. And before I forget to give credit where 100% credit is due, I took the wording for our Welcome Letter from Lenita (andreslove). Thanks, Lenita!!!!
  2. It kind of would be surprising if they did, but I'd be afraid that people who disaagreed w/ their views would end up throwing things at them!
  3. Ahhh!!! I didn't even think to send it to the president of Mexico! that's awesome! as for other pictures of the invites, i took a bunch of (trying to be) artistic photos of them this weekend, but got frustrated w/ shutterful b/c it was so slow and wouldn't load. so, i think i at least have them on my computer at home, so i will try to load pics tonight.
  4. We got a good start on our OOT Bags this weekend. I ordered most of my stuff from Mimimus.biz today. Anyway, here's a list of the items that we'll be putting into our bag. Also, here are some photos. And yes, I realize that our bags don't match our hang tags.....I wanted bags w/ purple handles since our colors (at least for the AHR are purple and white). And while the hang tags match our logo, I wasn't crazy about pastels, but had to go w/ it since I couldnt' find index cards in tropical or bolder colors). Anyway, I don't think people will really mind that the hang tags and bags really do match or go with a color scheme, but they should just enjoy the stuff we put inside! Advil / Tylenol After-Bite After-Sun Care Band-Aids Condoms (for the single guys) Custom Koozies Emery Boards Flipflop Playing Cards (maybe) Gift Cards (for excursions, spa treatments, etc.) Hand-Sanitizer Hangover Packets Insect Repellant Lotion Lipbalm Matches (maybe) Organza Bags (to hold the small items) Pepto Bismol Photo Albums Rolaids (Tropical Punch) Shout Wipes Spanish Phrases for Dummies Sudoku Books (maybe) Travel Candles (maybe) Travel Tissues
  5. My FI took our AHR reception invitations to the post office on Friday and some people received them on Saturday! The guy at the post office even had to hand stamp them and they still arrived in people's mailboxes on Saturday. Anyway, my FI took some more to a different post office today and the clerk there charged him an additional $.17/envelope to hand stamp them (they already had a $.57 stamp on them - which you can get the "Love" stamps in $.57 stamps). Also, thought you might get a kick out of who else we invited.......I didn't realize you could do that, so when I found out you could, I figured why not? :-) I heard they don't show up (obviously), but you can get a little plaque or a letter congratulating you.....
  6. Did you take your dress to the same place that you bought your dress? Is it a custom dress shop? My alterations cost $450 (and I felt the same way you did after she gave me the price) and all I had done was the hem and bustle and the shoulder straps. The dress itself was on sale for about $900, so the alterations were HALF the cost of the dress. Like what Carly said, I don't think you were necessarily rippied off, but I do believe that all brides get ripped off just b/c people can get away w/ it.......Regardless, i've accepted the cost of the alterations and moved on. :-) But it was hard to do!
  7. My ceremony is a 5 pm and my WC suggested that I start on my hair and make-up no later than 1 pm.
  8. I'm getting married on a Wednesday (next monty - yikes!) -- I'll let you know if any other brides are getting married that day!
  9. Welcome! Let us know if you have any questions at all!
  10. All of your stuff is awesome!! Can you tell me how to create the hang tags? I have our logo and would like to put that on one side, but then have a Welcome to Mexico on the other side.
  11. I just had my first microderm appointment on Thursday. I really liked the treatment itself - I'm just not sure if it really did anything. My face did feel clean and I think it felt softer. My esthetician gave me a salic acid to put on before I wash my face (w/ a glycolyic acid cleanser) and she also gave me a moisturizer w/ salic or glycolylic acid. I have a pretty complex skin care routine, so I'm not sure if this micro will do too much. I hope it will though since my wedding is coming up soon!
  12. How many packets of each item (it looks like most items e.g., Advil and Pepto come in 2 ct. packets) do you all put in each OOT bag? 2 if you're giving one bag per couple or more than that?
  13. Ok - just finished reading the review with my FI. Lauren - excellent, excellent review!!! And I am also sorry that you had to deal with some bumps along the road. One thing resorts should try to achieve is customer satisfaction and service. I don't understand why this is so difficult. Anyway, I'm happy to hear that in the end everything worked out and that you and your guests had an amazing time. I printed your review and will highlight things for me to remember when I'm there. And I'm using Claudia as our photographer, so I was so happy to hear that you liked her associates!! Thank you again for this detailed review!
  14. After you stop taking it, how long until you get your first period? It's not right away is it, or does it come at least 28 days after you stop taking it?

They basically didn't know we were coming and wouldn't work out any of the details with us. Later I realized this is b/c it is the job of Valeria and Monica to work out details and the on-site coordinators to implement it. We had Valeria and I think that helped account for a better experience. I've heard from many brides that Monica is not organized and your review clearly reinforces that. I would suggest that future brides request Valeria. Bre - thanks so much for the alternative opinion. I will take both yours and Lauren's into account as I get ready to head there myself for my wedding in a few weeks. I agree that while Monica has been very friendly, she really hasn't been all that organized. Luckily, I am a control freak and started a spreadsheet that has contained all of the details based on emails that I had with Monica. She tried to charge me TWICE for something that we had discussed several times over the past several months. Luckily, I had my email back-up and my detailed amenities spreadsheet. Anyway, the lesson is, be organized and hopefully things will go smoothly!

  18. Here's the text I'm using for my AHR - it's going to be a full-blown reception for 175 people - MR. AND MRS. JOHN L. I'm also getting the bouquet holder ($15). I ordered all of my amenities from the Lomas Travel site.
  20. I think we've decided to use it as our grand entrance song when we're coming in for the reception. Since all of the other songs were classical and since our ceremony will be in a chapel on the beach, we thought that using the rainbow song might not mix too well.

  22. Our ceremony is at 5. The sun is supposed to set at 7:10, I believe.
