  2. I really like that dress. I can't answer question #s 1 and 3, but I don't think it's too formal at all for a beach wedding - many of the dresses I've seen at the beach weddings are dresses that a bride would wear at a traditional church ceremony!
  3. We just registered last weekend, but we did everything on-line. Macy's registry was super, super easy! And I agree about putting what you want on your registry - since it also stays up after you get married, it will serve as a great place for future gift ideas from your family for those items that weren't purchased for your wedding!
  4. Will anyone be there at the end of April or am I the sole April EDR bride? I wish you all were before me so I could read all of your reviews before my wedding! :-)

But I think they don't stipulate anywhere that you can't have a symbolic ceremony in the chapel.
  7. Here's a site that has some very cute custom bridal flip-flops that are very reasonably priced! Wedding Bride Flip Flops Quality Beautiful
  8. Beautiful, beautiful! I loved how happy and giddy you and everyone else looked! Your dress is absolutely breathtaking, too! And that story about DH jumping in the pool naked is classic!! Thank you so much for sharing!! I also LOVED the sunset shots of you and Pete on the beach - I heard that the sun doesn't actually set wherever EDR is located, so what I saw was just fine to me!

Also, have you received any other amenities PDFs like this for other items you need to choose?
  10. Yay!!! Pictures!!! I loved your and your bridesmaids dresses! You looked very beautiful!! And it looks like the weather on your wedding day was just perfect!
  11. We just registered at Macy's and Bed, Bath & Beyond. We could do all of the registering on-line and our guests can also order them via on-line. We set up a direct link to the registries via our wedding website, so it's as easy as possible. We're not going to send out any type of notice cards, though - we feel uncomfortable enough as it is registering, but we do have our website address on our invitations.

Which Target did you call? We went to the one in Bowie and couldn't find any....I'll be willing to get them anywhere in the DC metro area! Thanks!

We were supposed to have pink roses on top but they changed their rules so no fresh flowers are available on cakes b/c they can't guarantee they won't have pesticides. so we asked for bright pink sugar flowers, clearly that is not what we got. You may Based on the photos I had seen, I wasn't expecting it to be a couture cake. So I wasn't really disappointed. They did use the ribbon I brought down but the layers were kind of short so a thinner ribbon might have been better. Anyways! Skip the sugar flowers and know that even if it doesn't look great it will taste great. Note, the huge flowers behind the cake was one of our two flower displays at the gazebo. THe other was placed on our advice card table. The picture of the cake isn't showing up. :-( Was this the standard cake that the resort offered for 20-30 people or did you request a custom cake?

I know it's too big for our wedding number of 30 guests--- but I wanted a "real" wedding cake for pictures, etc- and I like the simplicity of it for a beach wedding. She is charging me $350 for it.... Just an idea! Shea- ours is also going to be strawberry cake with vanilla frosting Oohh....I didn't know they could duplicate cakes that we like - but, of course, they will do it at a premium cost. However, it might be worth it - It's great to know that it's an option - thanks so much. I really love the cake you chose!
  15. Welcome, Dana! You're getting married there a day after me!

She sent around her template and I believe a good number of us brides copied it! I don't have the mac version anymore, but if you PM me, I'll send you a PDF of mine if you can't find Bre's.

I loved Springfield though and could see myself heading back that way someday. As far as deciding locations, well I think you have to tell them within a month of your date. I think you can change things when you get there, such as locations but nothing like flowers, menus or any decorations they need to pre-order. Just keep in mind that there could be other events happening at the resort around the same time as your wedding, so this could limit the availability of some venues... there is another girl on this forum who is getting married there the same day I am. The photographer's web-site is: Professional weddings and events photographers company Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cancun, Riviera Maya - Mexico</em></tt></strong>. It all depends on what is a big deal to you... personally the pictures are a big deal to me. They are one part of our wedding we will have forever and they are one of the best ways to share the wedding with family and friends who won't be able to join us in Mexico. I am either bringing in my own photographer from Phoenix or I will have my sister-in-law take pics (shes an amatuer photographer). As for flowers... I have had a hard time with this since every flower I have asked about has to be imported, therefore rediculously expensive! For example I asked about peonies, which my mother has growing along side our house in St. Louis and they are beautiful without her ever tending to them, and they want $300 for a normal sized bouquet of these!!! I could pick them myself back home... one of the slight disadvantages to a DW I guess! I think I am going to end-up getting the tropical bouquet (the bouquet shown across the top of the "flowers" page on Lomas' web-site). Hope this all helps! If you have any other questions feel free to ask! I must say.....the resort photographer's website has been drastically improved than it was about a year or so ago. Maybe they started to hear our comments and decided to step up the game a bit!
  19. That is a great idea! Just today, I developed an excel spreadsheet for our WC that listed our and all of our guests' names, each guest's relationship to us (groom's father, our friend, etc.), dates of stay, and a place for the room numbers. I didn't even think about having it available to all of our guests, but I think that would be very handy! Were you happy with the way that EDR assigned rooms to your guests? Were they located relatively close to each other? Did they give any room upgrades to your close family?
  20. Is Guacamayas an indoor or outdoor bar? Would it be a good, informal place for our guests to meet after the ceremony and before dinner while we're getting our pictures taken?
  21. I'm sure you can also go w/ the flow, but considering my personality, if I don't have things spelled out, then I freak. But having things spelled out might freak you out, so you do whatever works best for you. I saw other girls' timelines on another post, so I just wanted to add my own and see what the newer girls were doing, as well.
  22. Now I'm going to have to get one of these services on my wedding day, too! Thanks for reminding me of the Karisma link - I was just sent the Lomas travel one and it didn't include these services! Thanks!
  23. That's not too much time, at all. I was going to start our dinner at 6:15 after a 5:20 ceremony ending, but my photographer said that wasn't enough time for photos. So....we moved dinner to 6:45 - and will suggest that the guests get together for drinks (provided for by the AI) at a central location when we send out our newsletter. Plus, I echo that people who want to freshen up will have a nice amount of time to do so.
