How much extra is the red velvet cake? That sounds yummy!!

I was just going to ask you that I would only need to pay for 2 day passes, right? Why do they have so many different versions of what needs to be paid for, etc? My TA has a meeting there this or next week and is going to discuss their fees and not being clear and upfront about the charges from the beginning. I'll let you know if she is able to resolve any issues.
  4. Your pictures are so gorgeous!!! And you make such a beautiful, beautiful bride! I also thought the flower girl was absolutely adorable! Did Claudia also do a slideshow or any type of highlights video for you? Or did she just give you the digital photos and prints?

She's the one who used Cancun studios and had an email from Valeria saying that everything is included in the $500 fee. Monica is asking me to pay for the $500 fee PLUS three day passes and the per person charge for the private reception (again, for three people). Keep us posted on how your dealings w/ Monica go today. And Shannon - if you have a copy of that email that you wouldn't mind sharing w/ us, that would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! Jennifer

That would be great if you could find that for me! As of now, I'm supposed to pay the $500, three day passes, and three extra people for our private reception......any little bit of savings will help! We're also having our photogs there for 6 hours. Thanks!
  8. Who knows? We've paid everything up to this point, so if she says that we still need to pay for all of this stuff, we will. I'm just tired of being nickeled and dimed on everything, but there's not much else I can do at this point.
  9. Grrr. I think I'm down to the last minute details w/ EDR and this darn photography issue is driving me nuts. We agreed to pay the $500 vendor fee. So, that's been paid and I thought the issue was over. I notified Monica to tell her that my photographer will be bringing two associates w/ her (one of whom is the videographer). At first, Monica indicated that I might have to pay ANOTHER $500 fee for the videographer (who is associated w/ my photographer, mind you), but then she let that drop. But now, she told me that since we will be counting them as our guests in our "free" wedding dinner at El Cocotal and having them at our mini-private party afterwards ($8.00/person), we also have to get day passes for all of them! So, if I'm understanding her correctly, she wants me to pay $500 for the fee (at least one $500 fee so far), $72.00 for each guest pass (3), and $24.00 for three people at the private party. Ugh!!! I sent her an email to clarify all of this, but I am fuming.....and feel kind of defeated at the same time........
  10. I did just find this site and it looks like a winner so far, though! Paperboard CD Case : Unique Wedding Favors - Wedding Reception Favors - Bridal Shower Favors
  11. For those of you who will be giving (or who gave) CDs of your reception music, what did you do about the CD label and cover? Ideas? Pictures? I've found a few websites, but wanted to find out the least expensive (and easiest) w/out doing it myself way to do it!

If it was more user friendly, I might have relied on it a bit more, but I have found that BDW is all I need!
  13. I just got a response back from Monica regarding the pizza/burger place: "Yes, it was burne[d], I do not remeber if was lat week or the week before, but not to worry, the hotel is working on it and it will be ready by your holiday [April 20, 2008]." So, good news, hopefully!
  14. I was just reading the packing list and noticed that pantyhose was one of the items on the list. Are we supposed to wear pantyhose w/ our wedding dress? I'm wearing open toed shoes, so I didn't think so......

I mean i know you make most of your decisions when you get down theere but I don't know........ I've been in contact w/ mine for the past year or so. For our hotel, we have to send a list of and pay for the amenities, locations for the events, etc. 30 days ahead of time. I pretty much had everything all confirmed about 4 months in advance, though. If I were you, I would contact the resort and ask to speak to someone and to get a contact.

I heard that one of the pools at EDR may be one of the reasons for the easy pregnancy. :-) My TA told me that she knew of three ladies who swam in that pool and got preggers shortly after the trip! Anyway, I'm very happy for you and happy to know how quickly it took after the pill!
  17. I just spoke to an international FedEx representative and told her what we wanted to ship. She said that she wouldn't do it and advised to take our stuff on the plane. She said that Mexico is very, very picky and one item (especially toiletries or medication or stuff made in China) could cause the whole package to get returned. On top of that, the rates to ship it could be as high as $200 and that's not including the customs taxes and fees. She also said that even if it did make it through customs, it could be delayed days or even weeks.
  18. I was just going to ship via FedEx. Monica told me that we have to understand that if items get damaged during the shipping or customs check process, that the hotel is not liable.....but it's FedEx.....it should be ok, right?
  19. Has anyone shipped their OOT supplies to EDR? I asked Monica about this and she said that I can ship it directly to her. Did anyone get charged extra for this? Did you get your package when you arrived? I'm a bit nervous b/c we have a LOT of stuff to ship - maybe two boxes worth and we don't want to worry about packing all of this stuff in our suitcases.

  21. Here's what I'm having (see below): Quote: Originally Posted by nolaroy724 Speaking of ceremony's, can everyone please tell me what you are doing for your ceremony as far as decorations if you are having a beach ceremony? 1. No - since I'm having my ceremony in the chapel and another bride said the floor alone is more elegant than having the runner. 4. What color runner? N/A 5. Are you doing rose petals? Yes, but not as a runner - my guests will have the rice paper cups w/ the rose petals to throw at us. 6. Any other decorations (ie fans?) 2 Medium Centerpieces, 1 Large Centerpiece 7. What bouquet choices are you doing if doing it from the lomas site? BB17 (I'm adding 4 purple calla lillies to it). My FI will be getting B9, Dads are getting B7, Moms and FI's sister are getting LC01 8. Any unique elements (ie sand ceremony, songs, readings, etc.) I wanted to do a sand ceremony, but since we're having it in the chapel, we're going w/ the candle unity ceremony. We're creating a CD of our songs for the ceremony. PM me if you want a copy of my Excel spreadsheet that has helped me tremendously in keeping everything straight. I know some of you have mentioned this throughout this thread, but I am making some of these decisions right now and would like to see what others are doing. Any recent EDR brides have any suggestions as to what they would and wouldn't do again for the ceremony locations and decorations?
  22. Hmmm.....was the $7.00 for just the chairs over the number of chairs that are included in your wedding ceremony? I believe that 12 chairs are included in your package - chair covers for those and any extra chairs is an additional cost. However, if you were quoted a price of $7.00/chair + chair covers and you have evidence of that, you can fight that. I negotiated the cost of the chairs and chair covers with them and received a reduced rate. When it came time to pay for everything, they forgot about the negotiated rate, but I had the email backing it up. Unfortuantely, EDR does not budge too much on their costs....because people simply pay. It's a shame, but part of the wedding game. Just try to negotiate whenever you can and keep detailed emails and records of everything. Trust me - it will make the process go much more smoothly.
