I chose sandals because i researched a lot and sandals is what we were looking for....we wanted no children, a nice resort with things included but not restrictions that i had found at riu and some others, and everyone i talked to about our resort that had been there loved it. it is young but not too young not too old. it is us his mom and dad sister and bro in law so it is perfect for us. my fiance has been to a riu before in cancun and loved it but we were looking for something a little different.

OMG...so like i said i called and ordered each of these too..... today i hear a knock at the door and see ups deliver a box. i get it inside and open it and it is a 17lb box of these brochures...there has to be 100 of each at least!! wtf am i gonna do with all of them?! i feel horrible!! so....be sure to specify how many you want them to send. i needed 3 ps. LOL

i saw it too and i was so excited even though it wasn't the resort im getting married at. i dvr the show on a regular basis and i love it!! i used to like kendra but im over her. she gets too annoying and acts too "ghetto??" and holly annoys me too....i love bridget tho and of course hef!! glad others saw this episode...it was a fun one, can't wait for the rest on sunday!!

congrats to you!! although im not a sor bride, its nice to have more sandals brides here. i thought very much about having mine at sor but decided on sdr instead. sor is also beautiful and i have heard great things about it!! good luck with your planning!!

TOTALLY know what you are going through!! I have been looking for over a year and now my wedding is in less than 3 months and i decided, but still have my doubts. i was the same way....i wanted the glamourous princess wedding dress but knew i needed more of a simple dress for the beach. i found a dress and i am having it custom made. my fi fell in love with it and has no idea that i am having it made so that made me feel better. good luck to you. it was an extremely difficult decision for me. btw everyone kept saying you'll know when you see it but it never happened for me.

thanks for the pictures!! although i am getting married at dunns river, it was nice to get an idea i guess. my wedding planner just says that i have to see them when i get there. that is a little frustrating cuz i feel like i know nothing about my wedding site yet and its driving me crazy!!! thanks for sharing!!

they have 2 bouquets to choose from for the free bouquets at sandals, the carnation and the daisy bouquet. i am not fond of either even though they will match your colors. im contemplating having silk flowers done in the bouquet i want. i have been in contact with some vendors here and say it is very common for destination weddings and they will do what i want. just an idea for those of you that don't want the bouquet provided by sandals or that don't want to pay the ridiculous amounts of money they want for another bouquet!!

we are getting our moms gold dipped roses. they are about $50-100 but they are so pretty!!!

i haven't looked into the photography. i know that sandals doesn't allow outside vendors in so you have to use theirs. i don't know if we will buy any because of cost but his mom will be taking lots of pics....good enough for me!!

I finally found a dress!!!!!!!! I am having this dress custom made for me since it doesnt come in white. i am having it the same as this white with a sweep train!! Im so excited!!! Show Pictures

hi and welcome!! congrats to you and good luck with your planning. i took forever to decide on a resort. we finally decided to go with sandals dunns river for many reasons. first of all, we are not taking our kids and it will be all adults. if my kids aren't going to be there i dont want to deal with anyone else's period. not to sound mean but it is my wedding, honeymoon and vacation!!! the riu does allow kids and my ta said that when she went there that was the downfall at riu. another thing is i had personal experiences to go off of for sandals from friends and travel agents. sandals specializes in weddings and that was important for me. another reason for the resort is the dunns river is big enough but not too big. the sandals grande ocho rios is way too big to where sometimes you have to take a shuttle just to get to the front of the resort. that wasn't something i wanted to do. plus with the dunns river you can go there when you want, to eat, drink, etc. if you have any other questions i may be able to help you with let me know. i know most of the girls here are getting married at the riu. that is right next to dunns river. it is beautiful also. it just depends on what you are going for i guess. good luck!!

we are getting married at sandals dunns river. we did a lot of research on the different sandals resorts and it was the best for us. the grande ocho rios is a very big resort (too big for us) and the whitehouse isnt an all inclusive and ends up being too expensive for us. the other sandals resorts were either too small or too old of resorts for us but maybe perfect for a honeymoon. everyone i talk to that has stayed at a sandals has nothing bad to say. good luck with your decision.

so i know it has been FOREVER since i have posted or even really been on. there is so much to catch up on. I hope all is well with everyone and congrats to everyone that got married that i missed!!! my dad got really really sick and this last saturday he passed away. i am taking it very hard but i have had a lot keeping me busy to help. since i was on last, i opened my own salon, my fiance had nose surgery and my son just had surgery on his ear today, my basement which we just remodeled flooded at the beginning of the month and blah blah blah... so the good news we finally booked our wedding!! we are getting married at sandals dunns river on may 3rd at 2 pm. we have already had 12 people book with us which is more than we thought would anyways. now for getting all those plans straight. we may not have a reception when we get back home now. i haven't had a chance to book anywhere and i don't even know right now if we could afford it so that is something that is being put off. if at the time we can do it we will but otherwise it isn't important to me as much anymore. through all of this the baby is still doing well. a couple of scares. lots of contractions but no labor. just trying to get to october and deliver a healthy baby!! i really hope everyone is doing well and i just wanted to update and say hi!!! take care!!

we originally chose mexico but we changed to jamaica. first of all my fi and his ex went to cancun together and although it may sound petty i didn't want our wedding to be at a place that they had been together. maybe for a vacation, but not my wedding. second reason is that none of our guests had ever been to jamaica but almost had all been to mexico, including us. we chose sandals because we have no kids going and we have gotten great reviews about the resort (sandals dunns river) we are excited and i think everyone is looking forward to it. good luck with your planning. it is tough to narrow it down. i know that riu is pretty popular on this board and it looks beautiful as well. my fiance stayed at a riu in mexico and loved it. happy planning!!!

oh this post is fun. here goes... 1. I have been married before. I never believed in divorce but my ex was physically abusive and tried to kill me so I left and divorced him. 2.I left Shane (my fiance) to go back to my ex husband then realized that I was making a mistake. Luckily Shane took me back and here we are!! 3. I have had 2 breast augmentations....would do it again in a second!!! 4.I used to bartend at a strip club, got promoted to club manager and eventually became an exotic dancer to be able to afford to leave my ex. I was still a dancer when Shane and I started dating. 5. Shane and I went to high school together. I liked him then but nothing ever came of it. I dated one of his best friends in high school. When I left my ex husband, Shane and I ran into each other out one night and started dating. 6.My dad has lung cancer and recently they found a spot on his brain. My biggest fear in life is losing my dad. I think that is it for mine. Thanks for sharing girls. Interesting stuff!!!
