    Hello

Welcome! Costa Rica sounds so nice! Will you go sand boarding? I always wanted to try that. Do you have a dress already? Can you post pics? -Glenda
  2. I agree with Jonathan on this. While I realize everyone has good intentions there is a reason why we all hire a professional photographer in the first place, they know what they are doing and we should yield to their professional creativity. I think everyone should research their photog and pick one whose style and creativity they like. I know it's so hard to let anyone else be in charge but sometimes we gotta do it. But I think Ann makes a good point that if you have some special shots you really want, you should keep a checklist just so you don't forget. And Ann I'm sure this time Leigh will get a beautiful shot of you and your step mother. And this marriage will last forever and you will be so happy. -Glenda
  3. Thanks Natasha I think I will def do hair and makeup at the hilton. May I ask how much you paid for your make up? -Glenda
  4. Thanks these look really pretty and elegant. But I don't see pricing. Do you have to e-mail them to get a price? BTW my budget is not $1,000 it's just that when I looked at other sites it would come out to that much! I am probably going to invite a lot of people 250-300 b/c I can't offend anyone, blah, blah, blah but I'm pretty sure only 50 or so will go. -Glenda
  5. For those girls that are not having a legal wedding at your destination and plan to get legally married either back home or somewhere else, do you plan to do it before or after your symbolic wedding? I want to get legally married and married by the catholic church at home but I can't decide if I should do it before or after. Is anyone else getting married by the church and legally at home? -Glenda
  6. Ok I have started looking at invitations and everything I see seems to be very expensive. Does anyone have any good sites for affordable invitations? What I mean by expensive is that once I started tacking on return cards and return envelopes it was starting to come out to more than $1,000. I think invitations is the one place I really want to cut costs so if anyone knows any good sites, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. -Glenda
  7. champagne/gold, fuschia, turqoise, sage/olive, vibrant red, taupe...got it! Anyone else? -Glenda
  8. Of course! PM me your address and I will pick one up for you and send it to you so that you can see if you like it. If they have different shades I will try to pick up a few so that you can choose which one you like. -Glenda
  9. Kash is your gown ML? I saw a girl were the same gown as you on Platinum Weddings (she got married at the One&Only in cabo). She looked so pretty and it reminded me of your dress and I think you are going to look stunning!! I can't wait I am so exicted for you. How much did your gown cost if you don't mind my asking. -Glenda
  10. Ok so I randomly told my dad about the pashminas and he told me that he thinks I should buy one for each of the girls that want them and mail them out to you so that you can see if you like the quality and color. This way I won't waste anyones money if you are not interested. So I will try to go this weekend and pick up one for each of the girls who asked me too. Anyone else who wants let me know. And this will also be useful so that I can check out what kinds of colors they have and what pricing they will give us. -Glenda
  11. Yes I also think the medium ones are really cute. -Glenda
  12. Ok I also had no idea what OOT meant. It was killing me but I felt too stupid to ask. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't know what it meant, now I don't feel so bad. LOL. -Glenda

  14. Yeah Ana who makes your dresses? Also, are your girls wearing white as well with a colored sash? I love the idea of BM's wearing white or some variation of white but all of my friends yell at me that only the bride should wear white. But shouldn't the bride be allowed to pick whatever color she wants? Especially since white is my favorite color!! -Glenda
  15. Tammy you keep showing me all these places and it makes me want to change my mind everyday! LOL. -Glenda
  16. Thank you this is so nice of you! And it is greatly appreciated! -Glenda
  17. There are so many cabo brides (myself included) that you will find a ton of information. You said you want about 35 people. Does this include children? Do you want an all inclusive or not? These are some things to think about. Once you narrow it down to an AI or a non-AI and decide whether or not you will have children at your wedding, it will be easier for us to recommend places. But for now I would start looking at some of these: 1. Dreams 2. RIU Palace 3. Sheraton 4. Hilton These are just a few to get you started. Let us know how we can help. -Glenda
  18. Jules I have been wondering the same thing. My worst fear is that I will look like Tammy Faye Baker or the Bride of Chucky. AHHHHHHH!! -Glenda
  19. Amy your ring is so pretty and sparkly! My favorite kind of ring! We love seeing pics so I'm glad you posted one! I have heard of the secrets even though I didn't realize it wasn't called that anymore. I know they don't allow children (I believe). But it is supposed to be stunning. I think that is a nice choice. Good luck with all the planning and def keep us updated on everything. -Glenda
  20. RM is gorgeous! The El Dorado is gorgeous! That being said a lot of your FI's friends probably won't be able to come b/c they can't bring their kids. But in all honesty a lot of them probably wouldn't have come anyway b/c it gets pricey when you are booking vacations for your entire family. I don't know of any photographers in RM specifically but I know there is a thread with photogs in that area. Also, Jonathan Thrasher and Leigh Miller (who are on this board) specialize in going to any locale you want and their work is stunning. Plus they are both very nice and would be great to work with. Also, I highly recommend using Tammy (the host) as Tammy M. suggested. She is great to work with and will probably get you a better deal than most TA's would. Plus she had a destination wedding herself so she knows all the little intricate details that go into planning one. Good luck and let us know if there is anything you need help with. -Glenda
  21. Kash I love these! I originally wanted to rent a larger one of these and just my wedding on the grounds but then all my friends convinced me that an AI would be better. But I still wish I would have gotten one of these. -Glenda
  22. Welcome! I want to see pics, i want to see pics! -Glenda

Because of my "pre-searching" I had the place, photographer, DJ, videographer, and coordinator picked within 1 month of engagement. It helped SO much!!! Kate you are too funny! You are such a lawyer planning ahead of time before even being engaged. I always looked at things before I was engaged too. Just couldn't help myself! -Glenda
