Is anyone showing a slide show of their wedding at their AHR? I was wondering what equipment I should use to show it. Any ideas?

How early can I send my STD's
kay726 replied to mandm's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I think it is ok to send them out now. We sent ours out a year ahead so that people had a chance to save up money. -

Wow! I am really sorry to hear that all of this is happening and so close to your wedding. But that is great that you are able to communicate with her and be patient. You really deserve to have you MOH be there for you and help in anyway possible since this is really all about your happiness. I am sure if the roles were reversed, you would do anything for her and her daughters. I would say if there are any more problems, then you really should not have her in the wedding , but maybe in a less important role because she doesen't seem to have the natural inclination to want whats best for you. That passive agressive behavior can really be a problem when it comes the needing her to help for the wedding ..BELIEVE ME! About the passport, my husband's uncle decided at the last minute to book the trip to come to Jamaica with no passports for the kids. They were able to get the passport in a week. They had to go in person to get it done. They live in NYC so maybe that helped. My maid of honor got her passport the day before the trip even though she applied months before the trip. She had to call every day to get it. So there is hope.

To Invite or Not to Invite?

On the other hand the AHR is the time where you invite everyone. It's after the fact and they won't feel that bad, especially when you say the wedding was for immediate family only. You could also video tape your ceremony to show at the AHR so people can feel like they were there. JMO (just my opinion). drea This is what we decided to do. We are having a AHR for the same reason. We had a bonvoage party with only the people who were going to be attending the wedding and the AHR was for everyone else. We plan on having a continous slide show of the wedding during the reception. -
Help! Guest book question
kay726 replied to laura b's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I bought my guest book at Welcome to the Guestbook Store!. The pages had really cute questions and my guest loved to fill out the page. The pages have an area for a poloraid picture. -
I did the same. I let the veil hang when we got to our hotel room. It was fine.

To all previous OOT bag givers...

I'm just curious because I love some items that I'm including, but every once in a while I wonder if the guests will actually use it or if it's just a waste of money. Sarah, you included Spanish dictionaries, right? Did your guests use them often? I LOVE that idea, but it'll be a lot of extra weight/money and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it! (And yes, I know I'm way ahead of the game! lol) I ended up only putting a few things in the bags due to last minute budget problems: a Jamaica tourist booklet, welcome letter, wedding timeline, free Jamaica newspaper from the airport, mini sunblock, the favor, and some mints. We put the parents, and bridal party gifts in each person's bag to make each bag unique since we did not have a rehersal dinner. We sent out luggage tags 3 weeks before we left for the trip. Everyone really liked those. Suprisingly, the guests really loved the mints and I should have put more candy in the bags because the candy for sale at the resort was pricey and people really appreciated the few mints. Customs really did not check the bags coming in, so we could have brought more food items. -
Welcome! I was just married a few weeks ago at Sandals Dunns River Villagio in Ochos Rios, Jamaica. The RIU Ocho Rios was right next door. I would love to help in anyway.

I apologize because I told a bride from RIU and Beaches Boscobel that I would go to the resort and take pictures. I did not get a chance to get to either resort during my stay. But RIU was right next door to us and it is beautiful and HUGE. We share the same beach(minus the gate seperating the properties) and the beach is wonderful. You will have a wonderful time. I have to ask the parents of my flower girl about Beaches. They stayed there and had wonderful time. My flower girl is obssesed with Elmo (age3) so she was so excited about meeting him.

Do you plan to frame or display somewhere in your home? Thank so much for your kind words. I do truly love the banner. I am going to display it at my "at home reception"/crabcrack in July and then I am going to have it framed and hung up in our living room.

BTW - I love your dress, I really love the bow on the front! I really like picture 161, it really shows the emotion. What time was your wedding? It looks like you had some brilliant sunshine the entire time! Thank you everyone for your kind words. The wedding took place at 11AM, but thank goodness the ceremony was short and the reception took place in a shady breezy area. We were orginally going to do the ceremony on the waterfront, but my flowergirl got permision to come on property a week before the wedding and we had to change the time and location of the ceremony since it was an adult only resort. But everything worked out fun. The sun can be very intense so early in the morning ,so I had to triple up on sunblock.

Our wedding at Sandals Dunns River Villagio went wonderful. The banner I custom purchased from a knottie Style Down the Aisle - A Bravenet.com Hosted Site was perfect. The hair and makeup and nail from the spa was exceptional. I brought pictures and they did a good job. I did bring my own lipstick and eyeshadow and they did the rest. My veil was wonderful and floated pretty much. I purchased it from veils by Roxxanne on ebay. I also purchased my champagne sash from ebay. The shoes were from Macy's and my dress was a clearance Vivian from J.Crew. I bought my earrings from a knottie and my bracelet was from ebay. I did program fans with the fans from oriental trading (big hit because it was so hot). I did do welcome bags , the shoulder ones from alkani. I put mini sunblock, the sea shell salt and pepper favors, a Jamaica tourist book, a mini calendar , a wedding day timeline, a welcome note and some mints in the bag. The only warning I have is avoid at all cost the Sandals photographers. My photograher was very young and funny, but he took crooked pictures. Thank God my best friend took a bunch of pictures and did a wonderful job. The photraphers and Sandals really don't know what they are doing to much and the quality of the pictures when you recieve them look like ones I would get from Walmart. They really don't retouch them . I would not mind if they didn't charge so much for the pictures. In order to get around using their photograhpers because they don't allow vendors, I would try to say the photog is a family member or friend and they would have to use a nonconspicous camera. I really , really, really, regret not using a professional. You can find my pictures on shutterfly at:http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...=8BbsmLVu5bP0A

I will be walking down the aisle to Prelude in C by Bach. I was able to find the harp and flute combo version so it will sound like I am "floating" down the aisle...supposedly
