Hi Kerri! Welcome to the board! I'm getting married at the RIU in June 2007 - 5 short month away - anyway, the RIU is a beautiful resort. We stayed there in June 2006, and it's actually where we got engaged. I will say that the communication if you are far out from your wedding (which you are) will be slim to none, but once you start getting closer, it does pick up. Also, the atmosphere at the RIU is definetly party crowd. It's a large resort with always something going on. We are having both the beach ceremony & reception with the moveable dance floor. Since I also love real shoes, we are going to have a cocktail hour at the terrace. Then I also figure, we'll be running around the resort all night so I can wear shoes then. :-) My price was $500.00 to add the beach reception to the package.

Hey Fellow RIU Brides! I'm getting married at the RIU Cabo in June 2007, and yes the communication is slow, but it does happen. Just keep emailing and finally I made a phone call and since then have had pretty good communication. I have heard the same as everybody else, pretty much everything happens once you are there. As for the beach location in Cabo - I have seen photo's of the setup in different places in front of the resort - my favorite being in front of the palm tree area so that you are pretty much straight across from the arch. Since we are having the beach reception, I'm hoping to get this location for the setup. Also, my time is at 6 or 6:30 can't remember, anyway since the pool closes at 7, I'm hoping that people will start to be leaving the pool. I really think (hope) that it'll be far enough away that it won't matter. :-) I know I haven't been here much, but if any of you need any help you can PM me and I'll respond pretty quickly. For the Cabo girls - I have a bunch of info from the WC, I can get it to you if you want it - it's the menu, extras pricing, etc.

We have GroupUSA here, and I actually tried to make an appointment with them but they would never answer the phone - anyway, I popped in the store one day (the one here also sells business/casual/prom/ everything attire) and the gowns looked pretty nice. There were actually 2 different ones that I was going to try on but then decided that I loved the gown I picked to much. For the price, I think you get a pretty good value.

I'm wearing my train down in the sand - let it get dirty, I'm never wearing the dress again, and want to get my $$ worth. :-) As for shoes - barefoot for the ceremony, and then I got strappy heels for after.

My package came in the mail today - YEA!!!! I'm so freakin' excited. It's under the tree with all the other gifts... I can't wait to see what everybody gets - AND, I hope my person gets their package in one piece. It's on it's way. :-)
