Welcome, and congrats! I am using Rosy Castro from Lovely Weddings. She has been great to work with thus far. I have heard some less-than-favorable reviews about Weddings In Paradise.
the first thing my mom did when we changed our location for Cabo was go out and shop for a new dress (the first thing she did when we set our original date was go out and buy a $600 St John skirt...whateva). Anyhow, the ruling in our household is that no one can spend more on their gown then I spent on mine which she circumvented by buying two outfits... So, my mom ended up buying a teal dress for the ceremony and then found a teal Diane Von Furstenburg wrap skirt for the reception. She plans to make a matching blouse.
I'll try to get over to her place to get photos of her outfits, my sister's BM dresses, and my dress. One of these days...
Hi Shannon,
I know how overwhelming it seems at first. What helped me the most was to envision the type of event that we wanted to have, and then look for locations that fit what we were looking for and were in our budget range. I promise, it's not as difficult as it looks, and this board is an absolutely invaluable resource for information on vendors in Cabo and elsewhere.
Good luck and please feel free to ask questions. We were all in your shoes at one point
I think Sarah is right. You can suggest it, but ultimately these folks are going a long way to watch you get married and hopefully take a nice vacation as well. So if they choose to stay elsewhere you just have to deal with it.
those are very cute!
I wish I could remember where I saw them, but one DW bride did custom STD coasters and packed them in a box with shot glasses, mini tequila bottles, and chicklets. Very creative.
I was at a wedding last night and people were asking me how long I've been dating C. They were totally SHOCKED to hear that we first started dating around 9 years ago. We took several "breaks" but have been consistent for the past 3-4 years....
Time flies!!
I recently read an artcile about all holiday weekend weddings, and it was spun in the direction of guests NOT liking holiday weekend weddings because guests have their own plans and traditions for long weekends.
I think that it largely depends on your group, but you should keep in mind that airfare and hotels are usually more expensive holiday weekends, and road traffic is usually worse.

When I spoke to Rosy about all the legal stuff it sounded that she just may not have as much experience with it. Maybe I'll plan a phone meeting with Rosy before I hire Maye. She is very responsive to my emails which I like. I am sure that you can't make a wrong decision here so I would definitely go with the person that you're the most comfortable with.
thanks for the review. Bummer that you couldn't meet with Rosy. That's bizarre, and I hope it doesn't happen to me! Really, she's been great - super attentive and helpful and has saved me a lot of $... but I would imagine that you're probably going to go with Maye, huh?
I have the exact same situation. My wording is as follows:
in a celebration of love...
mr and mrs stepdad and mr and mrs dad
invite you to share in their joy
at the marriage of their daughter
nabumbah middle name last name
to
mr nabumbah middle name last name
son of mr and mrs future father in law
....etc
you can also do
NHPT and NHPT's FH
together with their parents (or families)

Ann, I wanted to use her but her DW packages start between $8k-$10k if i recall correctly. Definitely one of the most talented DW people out there.
