  1. oh good. poor thing. you will be out of the woods before you know it! are you going to find out the sex? NO we don't have everything planned. I mean, the big stuff is taken care of but some minor details like my hair & makeup and um, the florist. we still have to nail that stuff down. nothing like waiting until the last minute!!!

Have you seen the morning sickness lollypops? I hear those help some. Ugh, planning. It's just insane. I will be really thrilled when it's all over. I am stressing out over the huge # of people coming. and everything else. Otherwise, I am okay

  4. Hi there, I am getting married at the CS the weekend after Christa. I have a huge guest list so booking the rooms was not a problem. However, I believe that Armando will allow you to ue the site without booking rooms. I believe you have to pay a site fee though. as for your other questions 1. We are doing an open bar, but are bringing in our own wine. FH is quite a wino and we got a great deal from a winery in Napa that we belong to (well, the wine club that we belong to). They're not charging corkage. We negotiated all of this up front. Again, our wedding is going to be much larger than Christa's so we may have had more leverage for negotiation. 2. We're using Jennifer Hatton for our cake. I believe Janet used their cake. 3. We are not paying for our guests' transportation to get to the hotel.
  5. We had mine custom made. the center stone is around 1.5 with pave so I think it's 1.8 or 1.9 total set in platinum. I think that he spent around $7k.

We sent out around 140 invites. Good times. I am sure that we will make it work... somehow. But so much for having a small DW with a few guests and a small budget. heh. We actually did not book the whole resort! I think we booked 17 rooms. A lot of people are staying at condos, and my dad's WHOLE crew (about 30 people) are staying at Villa Los Arcos. and you are totally welcome to crash the wedding! Ann- I hope you're right, but there are a lot of guests that I know are coming, and have not rsvp'd yet. Like, a whole lot. So I think I am officially screwed. oh well. roll with the punches, right?
  7. um, no not yet! I want to wait until we have a final count. but with less than50% of rsvps in we have 80 guests :eek!:
  8. Hi girls. here is a question- what is the MAX guest list for the CS? I am having issues.
  9. I finally have a question for you all (sort of) Can you please post your day-of timeline?
  10. We're using Tabasco's for our WD. We have around 80-100 guests so we're taking over the whole beach. I believe dinner is $27 pp for shrimp, chicken enchiladas, and chile relleno with rice & beans. Our bar min is around 800 (I think)
  11. Here are some ideas - photo frame polaroid book full of epics (I went to a wedding last night that had this kind of guest book and it was really cute.) wish bowl

Although I didn't invite as many people as you, the same thing is happening with us...all of the sudden a bunch of peeps who said there was no way they could make the trip are booking. It's getting really exciting!!! yes, I got back yesterday. C saved all of the rsvps for us to open together - it was fun. I have no idea of how many we sent out but I anticipate that they will keep rolling in. There are quite a few people that were on our "definite no" list that have booked travel. Crazy! Christa you should come by and crash our party! I am sure Rafael would just looooooove that, huh?
  13. no it's not that bad... it's just that the Cabo Surf isn't that big. We thought that 75 was the perfect number. Oh well.
  14. we planned the wedding expecting around 75 guests. With the way things are going it looks like we're headed toward 100 guests... or more. holy smokes. Did not plan for that at all!
  15. I put the actual time, but I think that we have about a 15 minute time cushion in there for the stragglers
  16. you're so sweet to do this for everyone I just picked up 15 today for my guests. I paid about $2.50 each for them which did not seem too bad but 3 for $5 is a smoking deal if you can find it again. I would love to help some of you out on this, but I would have to bring them back from HK which is not as easy as it sounds.

Professional print shops that do letterhead and business cards can probably do it. I would just grab a phone book and call around. It seems like it would be waaay less work than doing it with a stamp & embossing tool. But that's JMO. I'm lazy like that
  18. I think that we invited over 300 people (sent out around 140 invites) and we're expecting less than 100. Keep in mind that your wedding is well over a year away and things change - We lost about 8 guests due to two pregnancies - two guests are due right near our W/D. Ironically these guests were on our "absolutely will be coming to our wedding" list - one was my cousin who I am close to and the other is the best man and his fiance. What do you know? life throws people curveballs in the form of new life sometimes anyhow... I would try to make a realistic estimate on your guest list. As in, We're inviting all of these people, but we know that these people would not miss it. And then add about 30% to make your final list. It's possible that all of those guest will come, but realistically they won't. So try to make a reasonable assessment and then work from there. And don't stress. you have loads of time. Promise!

  20. I would call around to some local printers and ask them for quotes on thermography. In my 'hood brides have been able to do it for less than $1/invite.
  21. We are going to see eachother before the ceremony. We're pretty traditional as far as I'm kicking him out of our room the night before the wedding and we will get ready separately but I just feel like it's more practical to do our photos together beforehand. That way we'll -get more photos together -not feel rushed -feel less anxious about the ceremony (I hope... I am super emotional so I hope that this will calm my nerves. I am an ugly crier.) -get to enjoy some of our cocktail hour with our guests - this is #1. I mean, these folks are coming all this way to party with us. I want to make sure that we at least get to chat with them and enjoy our time together. I've seen my photographer's shots that he sets up for this -- they're great. We've both agreed that this is definitely the way to go for us. And the brides that I've spoken with that have done this say that it gives you two special moments instead of one.
