  2. Original budget: $400/ $8per bag Quantity: 50 Bags will be distributed 1 per room and if it's two women each will get a bag. 3.49 Canvas tote bag from Cheaptotes.com 1.00 First aid kit .50 Deck of cards 1.00 Plastic shot glass set (Wal-Mart on clearance) 1.00 Beach mat (thinking about) 2.00 In snacks and medicine (Once the bulk pkgs are broken up each item is relatively cheap) 2.00 Aloe Vera and Sunscreen Thinking about a towel, coozie, drink bottle, pashmina wrap (definately getting but don't know when I will distribute), Mexican vanilla or tabasco sauce.
  3. I am definately doing this!!! I believe an event should have a wow factor and this is a resonable way to do so...$300. We are having the roller at the Welcome party since they give some free cigars and the guys can have them the entire weekend. I originally wanted the roller at our cocktail hour but FI vetoed that. I am now glad that he did. Some of the complaints by memory: Not everyone is interested in cigars so they stayed away and didn't utilize. Cigar roller isn't very interactive... people won't ooh and aah over tobacco being rolled. Free cigars offered were presented at the end of the evening so guests still had to pay.
  4. I think what you've decided will suffice. Granted that guests will be there for an hour, minimal decor if any is needed. We are doing the specialty bar menu on mini easels and probably a loosse bloom around that. Depending on what your colors are you can probably pull some (sp) bougonviella from the trees and use that. Don't stress it and if it's a budget thing... let that be the first thing you cut. Another idea: martini or margarita glass with a single flower.
  5. I love the whole lounge idea!!!! Your's is going to look so good. I wish the Cabo vendor had more options of furniture. I can't wait too see how it all comes together.

How did you gals plan your DW when it came to confirming numbers? Did you send out invites first to get confirmed number of guests? How do you do that without booking the location first? And how do you book unless you know how many guests are attending? I feel like it's a catch 22?? I of course did the whole word of mouth thing first. Followed by a guest list and counted who I thought would actually go. My first official count came with the STDs and I attached a reply card and a request to book by a certain date (well before the first deadline). This helped but we still have straglers. I think you'll get a much smaller amount of guests once they figure out the pricing. At 250 invited, 150 expected, are you ok with only having 80 guests? That's just something to think about . When key people start backing out of your wedding it's a heartbreaker.
  7. Welcome aboard Amy. I have heard so many great things about Punta Cana and the Dominican period. Whatever we can help you with just let us know. I'm a Cabo bride myself but alot of things are universal. Also, I'm originally from MI so I especially welcome you on board.
  8. That's going to be one great time, I'm sure. You're so lucky to get to visit more than one destination. Villas are definately the way to go if you can. The level of service, the ability to eat whatever your heart desires. It's better than AI since you are the only guests that the staff caters to. Can't wait to hear more!!!
  9. Andale: Click to Enlarge Color chart from an Ebay seller. This should help all of the ladies pick a color.

  11. Initially, I planned for our first look to occur at the ceremony. I am also having second thoughts due to lighting and the desire to keep the cocktail hour and reception moving. FI could care less which we choose. His statement is, "tell me what time and place to show up and I'll be there." We haven't really discussed if we'll share our room the night before but I do know that he plans to be golfing/spa-ing the morning/afternoon of the wedding. ? for photographers: I scheduled 1hour pf photography before ceremony to capture us with our bridal parties. If we decide to see each other shoulh I schedule 1.5hr before the ceremony. We have 2 photographers covering the day. One likes "tighter" shots that the others... does that make any sense? I think thats wht she said.

We are using that picture design, but using a more vertical paper in order to roll it into the bottle and have it more assessable. It has a hint of sand and shells in the bottom along with a drink umbrella. I can't wait to see how they turn out. M-i-B invites are such a unique way to send an invite. Are including a bit of sand or shells?
  13. Rebecca: So classic yet modern. I love the chocolate accent Great way to photograph the two! Kay: Lovely. Thanks for sharing. I think a great pic or monogram carried throughout a wedding adds a taste of sophistication.

It's so interesting that many of us have similarities or a common bond besides that wedding that bring us together. Thanks for sharing your pics Chrisitine! H.S. seemed so long ago, it was so much irresponsable fun!!!!
  15. If anyone is interested I also have the smalle ones (5in) in diameter? I don't have an exact count on how many extra I have.
  16. Lenita, they were a bit blurry but I got the idea... they're beautiful. I am such a fan of the bird of paradise flower. If you are doing drink menus check out Cocktail Menus - Bar Menus - Cocktail Recipes - Menu Printing they have one that will coordinate beautifully.

  19. Hey Jay...WELCOME... love that you are from Chicago!!!!!!!!! Whatever you'd like to know of course just ask. There's a ton of info, so if you read or do a search by topic chances are your answer is already there. F.Y.I. we are planning a forum get together. You're definately invited!
  20. Something ... OLD: Earrings NEW: Dress and shoes BORROWED: I am attaching pics in a mini scrapbook to my bouquet. I boorowed the pics from my grandmother BLUE: Blue rhinestone toe ring and I think I will momogram the sole of my shoe in blue rhinestone
  21. Sarah the book came out wonderfully. It amazes me how much photographers charge for the picture book. I am so glad that you and Tammy tried this route. Granted that we talk often, now I know that it IS truly possible to create one myself and save several hundred dollars
  22. Thank you very much for thinking about us Cabo brides here on the forum. It speaks volumes that yoou are willing to look out for us even without us being actual clients of yours. Happy New Year to you!
  23. Christine that is an absolutely stunning dress... simple, sophisticated, and modern (color) yet traditional. I agree with Tammy it's going to work out perfectly in wine country
  24. This is so ironic since FI asked about these types of photos just today... Where did he get the idea from I also checked out a bio with various pics. Liek most of you gals I am no type of shape like the gals photographed above, but I totally love the idea. In the bio I noticed some taken in her FI's dress shirt and jersey. Some were mere silhouettes or darkly lit... they were sooo sexy.
