  1. Happy Birthday Sarah.... and many more!!!!!!!!!!
  2. If I were in your position I would definately get a Spanish speaking friend or translator on board. Have a list of questions ready and don't accept no for an answer. If that didn't work then I would definately hire a planner. Some girls have used a day of only person and significantly saved money. Last option would be to pay Cabo a visit. While I would always recommend such, everyone can't budget that. Good luck and keep us posted. Also with you being on board a lot of the contact info is available so you can book vendors yourself. That's definately the most time consuming but not impossible

  4. Welcome aboard Lisa. The forum can be a little overwhelming but there is a priceless wealth of information at your disposal. You've got plenty of time to get accustomed. You'll be a board pro in no time.

Congrats and welcome aboard Cortnie. From the pics that I have seen the Marquis is a beautiful property. Happy planning and we are here to help.

Can I just send an announcement after we get back? We aren't having an AHR, so I'm getting so confused. I like so many others on this board am in the same situation. We sent out a passport style STD which was pretty inclusive. For those coming I will send a formal invite; not because we have to but becasue I want to. I also want to send out a formal announcement after the wedding. Both the invite and the announcement are unnecessary, but since it is destination I thought why not.
  8. Ok I've been waiting... did I miss a post somewhere? Are the pics up?
  9. Have a wonderful trip Raina and early congrats!!! Can't wait for the review and pics

I have visions of a line of weddings set up down a beach. Or worse, all my super smart friends showing up at the wrong one. I just don't want to feel like a "number" on that day and I feel like knowing there was a wedding an hour before/after mine would make that happen. I want it to feel like Thanks! I second Tammy's reply. I am a Dreams bride and have requested to be the only bride that day. I have 75 guests.

I've done Tae Bo alot, but if I'm getting tired and wimping out I always would quit. Well, today I DID IT!!!! Woohoo! I think I'm going to pass out or have a heart attack, but I DID IT!!!! Sorry, I got a little excited- it's the little victories, you know? Had to use all my happy smilies too WTG!!!! I have that tape so I know the work you put in, girlfriend. Keep up the good work.
  13. Thanks I think I picked up every single white or green flower/leaf that looked tropical in the store.I am ashamed to show you a close up since I just threw that together. Since the flowers seem to be winning hands down,I might just add that to the budget and use real blooms. The material is a satin. Total cost for all materials is about $70. If this didn't work then I was going to get giant urns filled with flowers from the coordinator... yeah $230 saved. As far as the brick, it's by basement. I have exposed brick in certain parts of the house and I think it's pretty cool too. Kind of urban, contemporary!

Guests would have to cab to the site, however. Has anyone looked into the Cabo San Lucas Hotel? - The setting is lovely there. I know that I haven't... do you have a link for the other brides out there?
  15. I love this board!!!! Anna congrats and welcome... you inspire us all planning your wedding with a short time frame. It's going to be great I'm sure.

  18. OK ladies I have finally finished what I think will be our wedding arch. I wish that I could've taken it outside but it's rainy here in Chicago. Please tell me what you think. Do you like it with silk flowers or without? Maybe I'll splurge and add real flowers. I've added the pics to my style gallery page: Jenetta's (jpmo) style

  20. Hey guys I located the bio that I was referring too for the banner http://www.theknot.com/co_profilevie...name=kathyriya
  21. I completely understand your fear. I've only visited Dreams but I can safely say that it won't dissapoint. Plus there are too many people wh have gotten married/getting married from this site with nothing but good things to say. Just in case, when we arrive I plan to tip daily. I have already been pretty vocal with my coordinator and I plan to continue as well with management. i suggest that you do the same.
  22. Janet My guy totally loves these treaments. I vote spurge on the treatments!!!! He'll be glad that you did... definately include a massage. Sometimes a haircut isn't necessary but the relaxing effects of mani, pedi, facial, and massage are priceless. He deserves to feel fabulous even if he doesn't know it yet. Let me know what you decide
  23. Megan thanks for sharing your pics and review. Your were beautiful!!! The late night pool party sounds like one good time. Congrats and great ideas: MR. and Mrs. chair markers, loved ones table, squart guns...

Thus far I only know of Dreams comping 2 nights stay provided that you book a wedding throught there resort. A number of places will discount or offer a free tasting but you myst ask. For our site visit we stayed at our first choice hotel. I'd recommend doing such and not moving from hotel to hotel.
