  1. yikes! You just may have to squeeze more people to a table, and have lots of tables! I'm sure you can make it work
  2. Hi ladies, We hosted a group activity the day before the wedding and it was great because our guests really started getting to know each other before the "official" events started. We wanted to do something a little different and chose the zip line tour in San Jose. My husband emailed with them before the wedding to negotiate a group rate of $55/pp, which is about $30-$40 off their published price. We ended up spending about $1K on this but it was so worth it. Company: Canopy Costa Azul Website: http://canopycostaazul.com/ Email: [email protected] Contact: Lorena or Luis Details: There are nine ziplines in total, with each one higher and longer than the last. People who don't want to participate can walk along one side of the canyon to watch or take photos for free. The staff was AWESOME. So, so nice and helpful and just fabulous. There is also a tequila tour and tasting afterward. Everyone felt really safe the entire time - it really wasn't that scary at all! Location: Just south of San Jose del Cabo. We decided to drive there which was an adventure in istelf! But they offer transport by bus and I would probably take them up on it. If you do decide to drive, try to find it the day before! You literally drive up a canyon, in the dirt and not on a road for like ten minutes. Signage is minimal. But it got us in the mood for adventure when my little Nissan Tsuru almost got stuck in the mud!
  3. ohhh Tammy this is what we ate on the last morning of our honeymoon in Cabo. It was so yummy and I would pay a million dollars to be back there right now....

  5. On my invitations I put the actual time, but in the email newsletter I sent out I reminded people that we would be starting ON TIME so we wouldn't lose the sunset. Amazingly, we did actually start right on time and everyone was there.
  6. Ann what are your wedding colors? Are you open to something bright and fun and not white? I was thinking maybe something like this: Etsy :: Jill Wristie in Mexican Floral
  7. Hi Alisa! We did 1 hour and we used that time to take photos. I think it lasted more like 70 minutes but it seemed just right. I think people were hungry by then! I don't think 1.5 hours is necessary...it will just cost you more!
  8. Yes I was pretty darn hot, and my dress wasn't even that poofy! I only wore some spanx, no bra...but the material was thick enough that it was fine and held me in tight...lol
  9. Sarah, do they have white linens for the rectangular tables? You could just go with white, as it looks very "clean" in a beach setting (as opposed to "boring" in a hotel ballroom) and I think your pink runners will still stand out. Trust me...once the day comes it will really not matter so don't stress too much! Remember that people will be looking at the view and not the tables, I promise!
  10. I think I might just do the sisters...then it's not like you are picking favorites among friends. The friends can still be super involved and part of everything...they can just wear whatever dress they want. Honestly, sometimes it's a relief NOT to be asked to be bridesmaid, ya know? Plus I think it makes sense to have a number proportional to your entire wedding. I think that 12 BMs at a 30 person wedding would be a bit much. Just my 2 cents though...when you are the bride you get to do whatever you want!!
  11. We hung out at the Hilton one day of our honeymoon and I thought I remembered seeing the Whale Watching Terrace which is like one level below the pool and closer to the beach. Is that an option? I wasn't totally paying attention so I could be wrong though....but I think I saw them setting up an event there and I remember thinking it was perfect for a wedding.

And why we were seeing a personal trainer, again, no idea - I used to see one, along time ago, but I don't anymore! (hmmmm, maybe I should?) Ann -- hilarious! I think it's because you are feeling my guilt for not working out in like 2 weeks! Ack! I have been so bad!
  13. I have a 3/4 eternity band, so it looks like an eternity band, but it's nice and thin on the underside of my finger, plus I am able to resize it if I need to. However, it does twist around a lot so I am fixing it often. But that just gives me an extra excuse to admire my rings so I don't mind! (So anyway, I voted for #2)
  14. Welcome Brandy! I'm sure we can help you...maybe you can tell us more about what you are looking for in terms of size, cost, and just in general how you picture your dream wedding. Have you decided to do all-inclusive or not? Anyway...we are here to help!

I would really appreciate it if you could email me what you have! I see that Maye is your coordinator. I've contacted her and am still waiting to hear back about pricing for certian locations. THANKS!!! I can vouch for the awesomeness of the Cabo Surf Hotel! In the end we paid the following to the hotel for 55 people: $7/chair $14/apps $40/mexican buffet (food was AWESOME) $42/four hours open bar (they give a free welcome drink and a free champagne toast to help stretch a 4 hour open bar to a 6 hour party!) $5/cake plus 14 bottles of wine but I forget the prices...like $30 each? Add 25% to everything for tax and service (standard) These were 2006 prices, so I don't know how much they have gone up for 2007, but Christa's numbers look about right. As for your other concerns re: privacy The beach is semi private because it is small and only encompasses the hotel. There are no other properties that use that beach (except some giant mansions...drool, I want to live in one!) However, it's a popular surf beach, so we found that we had a scattering of surfers, doggies, and other people throughout the day. The crowd was thin by the ceremony, but still a few diehard surfers. However, I totally did not notice them AT ALL and it never bothered me. Everyone who hangs out there is very chill. Lots of locals and regular tourists. No vendors or annoying people. If you want to do business with them I would contact the hotel directly: Cabo Surf Hotel, beach resort, boutique hotel in Los Cabos with surfing, Baja diving and Cabo golf. - Armando will probably be the guy in charge. Although he can take a few days to reply, he is very nice and easygoing and should be able to answer your questions. Also, my photos are here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1650
  16. We got married at Cabo Surf but only had about 1/3 of our guests stay there. The others stayed in much cheaper condos nearby and saved a ton of money. Just make sure to plan lots of group events so you get to see everyone. We had a group activity, dinner, surfing lessons, wedding, and brunch...so it wasn't a problem.
  17. I had HiveSpa do hair and makeup but probably wouldn't recommend them. (not bad, but not worth the cost!) Try to hunt down a girl named Neesa (sp?) who works at MexSun, I think. I have heard good things. You could try a search on this board? Sorry I don't have more info

    Hi

    welcome amy!!
  19. My husby said "I wouldn't change much of anything" He said he would have changed some of the music by our DJ (to have more slow songs) He would definitely do again: Zip Line (shoot I still never did a thread on this!) Cabo Surf Hotel La Panga he would let me do all the work again (jk! jk!) No really, I think he was just happy to relax and chill out with his friends, and not have to worry about a thing.
  20. I know some brides tried this with mixed results...but I can't remember specifics. Have you done a search already? (Sorry this isn't so helpful!)
  21. Welcome! I'm sure you will find TONS of info on here. Is your coordinator based in the US or in Mexico?

  23. here are some samples: Shell invite: Wedding > Wedding Invitations > Traditional > Splendid Scallop  eInvite.com at Costco.com Simple white squares: Wedding > Wedding Invitations > Traditional > Beveled Snow-White Emperor, Single-Layer  eInvite.com at Costco.com (you could totally make these cute with a little DIY-ness too) Modern-y floral: Wedding > Wedding Invitations > Latest Trends > Floral Silouette  eInvite.com at Costco.com or Wedding > Wedding Invitations > Latest Trends > Aged Rose  eInvite.com at Costco.com Others I like: Wedding > Wedding Invitations > Lavish Looks > Geo and Satin  eInvite.com at Costco.com Wedding > Wedding Invitations > Lavish Looks > Ellen Invitation  eInvite.com at Costco.com (letterpress for a good price) anyway...you get my drift
  24. Glenda I got really nice invites with thick paper, lined envelopes, and thermography ink for $280 for 100 of them. There is a site called eInvite but if you get there via Wedding Invitations, Birth Announcements, Party Invitations  eInvite.com at Costco.com then you get 25%+ off because it's linked to Costco. They will send you samples too. Mine were really simple white squares with one color ink. You can pick your color and font and stuff. No they weren't fancy but they totally served their purpose and they didn't look cheapy at all.
