Anyone Else Buying 2 Dresses? -For Ceremony & Reception

Recommended Posts

I only have one dress. I love my dress it's pretty light weight and I feel I paid a lot for it and I am only going to wear it once I'd like to get the most of it. I hope I don't regret this though and be really hot for dancing lol after reading these post maybe I should reconsider or at least have a back up.

I purchased two dresses, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. The reception dress set me back around 40 dollars (not bad at all) It's much easier to move around in.

When I tried walking around in my ceremony dress I felt that it restricted my movement alot-

I had two dresses, but I'm selling the first one and keeping the second one, its a 1950`s tea length dress, so it'll be light enough to dance in :-) :-) I just loved it so much I want to wear all day :-)

I am definitely thinking about getting two dresses, even if I don't change into it for the reception - I will want a short one for the after party in the club as I like to dance and tend to get hot when you add liquor to the mix :)

This is a tough decision. I have less than 4 months to decide. Part of me wants a second dress for the reception but why did I bother getting a gorgeous gown I'm only going to wear for 20 mins! ? Plus I'm not doing a TTD session.. so I'm so uncertain as to what to do!

I thought that I wanted two dresses. I love my dress that I already have, but it is mermaid and might be a little restrictive to dance and what not. So I tried on another dress that I thought I would love, turns out I don't! So I am just gonna stick with my first and love it! Will also be doing a trash the dress in it! Can't wait!

So it seems I'm definitely not alone! Quite a few of you are also considering a change. Come to find out, my mother even brought an outfit to change into for the afterparty!  I find that hilarious being as though she is not young, a dancer, or a partier. I guess she wants to be comfy sitting on the side with my father. LOL

I'm so in love with my dress, I'm not planning on having a 2nd dress for the reception.

If I do a TTD, I'll get a 2nd dress.  Again, love the dress WAY too much to trash it, plus it's satin/mermaid-y so wouldn't work that great I think anyway!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
