When I went on my site visit last year I met my onsite wedding planner and had her email contact info so I asked my onsite wedding planner about booking one room night early on and she agreed to let me do one night to bypass the vendor fee.  But just today I saw on my final bill that my wedding coordinator (different person) added the $800 fee for my DJ and I already booked the room for my DJ and his assistant.  I actually just finished emailing my onsite planner today to get this fixed I'm sure she'll change it and if it does become a problem I will fight it because I saved every email where she assures me that one night will be fine. If you want to go around the vendor fee by booking one night try asking your wedding coordinator they might say yes or no I feel like it all depends on the person realy.  You'll get different answers from different people which is strange. Remember to save every email where they promise your something so that when its time to get your final bill you can fight certain things. I was also promised to only pay for 2 day passes for my photographers and when I first got my final bill they had charged me the vendor fee instead I reminded them that they said I could do 2 day passes and they quickly changed it.  Look at your charges very closely.

Ah okay, I see! That is very useful information. It's handy that you were able to meet your onsite planner! Yeah it definitely sounds like what you're "allowed" to do totally depends on who you get answering your questions. So frustrating! Hopefully they get yours fixed ASAP! Thanks so much for the quick reply, this was helpful :)

I have my date set for a Friday in June for a 6pm beach ceremony. I have not been to Mexico in June and I am not sure when the sun sets. I am thinking of moving my location to the Bugambilias gazebo. Also, do you think the horse and carriage ride is still special on the beach? What are you ladies doing for shoes if you have a beach ceremony? I was thinking sandals and heels for the reception (I want a ballroom reception). The question is where do the heels hangout at during this whole time.

I am officially a Moon Palace Bride. June 17, 2016. We switched from Playacar Palace. As of now we are having a beach ceremony at 6pm, but I am also interested in the bugambilias gazebo, but since we are doing the complimentary package it will require some sort of decor. I would like to have a terrace cocktail hour and a ballroom reception. My coordinator is Brenda and I am working with Teresa with Wright Travel.

Again I will star saying that Palace resort has the best food! this resort is huge! which is good to have different option of restaurants or specialities, also you have many options for locations to have your ceremony and reception

I have post some of my favorites weddings in this beautiful place, hoping them help people to decide!

Has anyone booked a bridal/groom suite for the day of the wedding to get ready in? I've booked The Styling Trio (hair/makeup) for my bridal party and I want to make sure we have enough space.

Thanks!

L

I just got married there last month and that was never mentioned as an option to me. It could have been that my wedding started at 5 pm?

Did you have a stylist or just the Resort Spa do your hair and makeup?

Where did you get ready?

I used the resort spa for makeup and hair. Basically, my then fiancé got ready in his room while I was at the spa for two hours and then I kicked him out when I got back and got ready. I think that having the bridal/groom suite is only available for morning, early afternoon weddings. I highly doubt the resort would give someone a room for a day that they can charge the full room rate for (ie check in is after 3).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
