Sorry you had a bad experience at David's Bridal.  I did not find a dress I liked at David's Bridal for myself, however, all four of my bridesmaids found their bridesmaids dresses at David's Bridal.  All four had great experiences as did I as I went with three of them to choose.  One of my bridesmaids was from out of town and she bought her dress off the rack.  They sewed in cups right then and there so she could take it home with her that day.  I think experiences vary for everyone.  I read poor some poor reviews for some of the boutiques where I shopped for dresses as well.  In the end, you can't please everyone and unfortunately, there are some poor sales people out there as well who do not understand the concept of customer service.

I made an appointment at the one and the girl didn't even show up for my appointment so another girl was helping me and had no idea what she was doing. She couldn't even find clips for the dress because the one I tried on was huge. When I finally decided to order it, she didn't even take my measurements, she just asked what size I wanted. Needless to say, the one I ordered is wayy to big and they won't let me exchange it since it's past 90 days which makes no sense because it took so many weeks to actually receive it so that 90 days should be from the date you receive it, not the date you order it. I tried talking to two other locations and they were unhelpful and rude as well. I even asked if I could exchange it for bridesmaids dresses and they wouldn't let me because they only exchange bridal for bridal. They all have their own return policies, which is normally all sales final so just be sure it is the dress you want and the correct size when you order it. Best of luck : )

I tried on over 60 dresses before finding mine. I am utterly convinced that it's not all about weight. It's all about your body shape: boobies, waist, hips, height, proportions (emphasis on proportions), etc. My very first time shopping for a wedding dress, I saw a girl who was probably 300 lbs find an amazing dress! She seriously looked great. It was all about the cut and style of the dress working for her body. I also tried on dresses that looked better on me than the model! Trust me, I do not have a model body (I'm 5'3" and 135 lbs). But those dresses were obviously made in such a way that they better complimented my body than the model's body.

So ladies, you go ahead and loose weight if you are concerned about your health. But please don't make the mistake of thinking that you need to do it to look good in a wedding dress. Just like all each us, dresses come in a rainbow of shapes and styles. It's all about finding the right match for YOU. It's the same as how each girl here had to go through different partners before finding the one that was is best match for the unique mix that makes her the person that she is.

Now I am stepping down from my soap box!

Wow! You are stunning! The dress has so many beautiful elements from the one shoulder that is delicately beaded, to the mermaid silhouette and ruffles at the bottom. GREAT choice!

It just came in, but I wanted to sneak a peak before my Mom came into town. Tell me what you think.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
