Thrilled ROR Newbie

Hello Ladies,

I have been following your posts for the last few days and itching to get on here! It took me until today to be approved.

I am thrilled to be getting married at the ROR on January 17th, 2008 at 4:30 pm. I just started planning, and thanks to many of your posts have a general idea of what I would like for my beach wedding. You all have great ideas! I was worried when I read many of you are getting married in May 2008 and already have your venues picked out. That's when I called my travel agent (aka. mother-in-law-to-be) and put a fire under her butt!

I do have some questions about the Plantation Restaurant and would love to gather some anwers from you all. Chandlyn told my MIL (mother in law) in order to book it for two hours at $250 each hour, it will also be $50 per person for the dinner? Is this true? I recall someone posting an included menu (I believe it was Lizz) that was no charge. Also are any of you being specific about which level you are holding your dinner? Upstairs or down?

I would appreciate any input.

I'm so happy I've found people to chat with about my wedding! I think everyone else around me has tuned out lalala.gif

I'm looking forward to hearing from you all!

Cherie

Hi Welcome to the board. I leave in 16 days!!! I have stayed at the Riu before but I cant recall going upstairs in the plantation. But for some reason I am thinking its not a big open space up there its just a balcony area over looking the inside of the restaraunt with just some tables. But if you would like me to take pictures when I am there I would be happy too. Just email me to remind me, I will send them to you when we get back. For any of the other Brides if you would like pictures of something just let me know and I will be happy to have more reasons to take more pictures...lol Just let me know what you guys want...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
