Does anyone know if the Tax is added onto everything at the final bill or is it only added on certain things?

Anything that is considered 'set-up' (i.e. the $500 fee for the private dinner in my case because i have your moments; ceremony setup; etc..) is not taxed, neither is the Judge Transportation, Apostille (if your ceremony is legal) and Blood tests.  Otherwise on my contract as of now, everything else is taxed. We aren't having too many extras, so others may know more! :)

Quick Question for past brides.. Or those who would know..

I am wearing 2 different shoes. One for ceremony, one for reception. Is there somewhere we can put my receptions shoes or do we have to go back to the room? Also, same with lipstick/lipgloss. I'd like to touch up my lips before photos and before we enter the reception.. What are our options? I won't be seeing the groom before the wedding, or I'd just have him hold them in his pocket! :) And my MOH will not have pockets. Okay, i just realized my dad could hold my lip stuff, but what about shoes?

Thank you for this information. As long as it is not on the total bill then lol!! We have the moments package too and for us the most important part was the amount of photo's we take home with us so most of our budget will go towards the photagrapher. I personally am camera shy so there is not many pics of me and my partner in our house so after losing 3 stone I want to make sure we have some pretty good pics to remember our day.

We started out with lots of extras but after re-looking at our plan we have eliminated lots of things to fit within our budget so we are not having too many extras either.  I was going to have bouquets for my bridesmaids but we have deiced that it is an expense we dont really need so my girls will have simple feather fans.

At the cocktail hour we will only pay for the appetizers and not the cocktails (we are all inclusive so I dont see the point)

Lunch we will have a part sectioned off at the buffett and as we are having a reception at home we are not spending money on a DJ and table set ups and centre pieces etc. and thats why we opted for a semi private reception.

We are having a non-private dinner in one of the restaurants but because there is 21 of us I am assuming we get charged 20usd per person for the set up fee? we have asked if we could pay the 500usd to move this to the private terrace of the restaurant to make it a little more personal and give us the opportunity to play our own music because you are obviously not allowed to in the restaurant out of respect to other diners.

I just hope Pilar can still pull off a special day for us :-)

Still at Now jade so just a quick response. Mari-Carmen, our wedding planner had a basket for our little bits & pieces that she had with her when she came to meet me to go to ceremony. You'll be fine :) enjoy your special day

Hey ladies!

I just returned from my site visit at now jade. We were there from the 8th -12th and everything was really nice! There were weddings every day and on sat. there were two! We met with pilar who is really really great! She is very organized and had all my information all ready. She is very busy and works all day long. We went over all my questions and i looked at tons of pictures and she also gave a price quote for everything i wanted so far. I first planned on having my reception in the terrace but after seeing some weddings there it does seem a bit tight for dancing so am thinking about switching it to the bamboo room which is also lovely.  The only problems... we were first put in building 2, for some reason in buildings 1 and 2 there is a sewage smell. :( We asking to be moved because of this and they quickly did so. There is also construction going on next door. Hopefully by next year it will be finished.. Any questions Ill be happy to answer :)

Hi Kmlane13,

My wedding date is the week before yours and we both are coming from I so we may see each other in passing!!! Anywhoback on topic, based on the feedback and comments,  I have decided to order cups as well and used DiscountMugs.com. They have decent pricing, but there is not a charge for shipping and 5% discount( not much, but something).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
