The template for the brochure is from Vistaprint! There are lots of different designs to choose from!

Ok, well your explanation(steps taken) help a lot. Thank you

For some reason, that sounds cheaper than an AHR!  I like this idea!

It was cheaper, but most importantly is "forced" people to give gifts prior to us leaving and we got about 1500! I was more stressed about the reception more than I have wedding, but I am happy I did it first vs waiting until after the wedding.

LOL..I will probably say something like 'your presence, not presents is desired', but my FH is not here for that at all. He wants gifts! LOL  The only challenge I'm seeing is that people will want to see the pictures, and it would be nice to be able to show them those. Maybe I'll have a bon voyage party here, and then see if either of the parents wants to throw us an event in their home city afterwards...hrm..

Does anyone have bridesmaid dresses picked out already?? I also want to start checking out places to see what my FI and groomsmen will wear. I think if I dont do it before the summers over it will be hard to find that type of attire in the winter time. I dont want anyone to wear a jacket since it will be so hot but i still want somewhat formal. Anyone have any ideas? or pics of what their guys wore? Im thinking just a white linen shirt and tan pants? Also, Is it weird if my FI Wears a long sleeve shirt but then guys wear short sleeveS? Not sure if i should just have all of them wear long sleeve? HELP! lol

I don't have bridesmaid dresses picked out yet but I'm thinking of letting them pick their own dress (something casual, affordable (since they're shelling out major cash to come) and something they can wear again). I like the idea of mismatched dresses.  My colors are coral, peach & aqua so here's what I"m thinking for the look of the dresses. If you are doing casual look on modcloth.com they have some super cute beachy looking dresses. cheesy.gif

My fiance is going to wear a white linen shirt I think, something casual but still looks nice.  I think Tommy Bahama has nice shirts for men.

Hi, we get married in November and My FI is wearing Sand Linen trousers and jacket (his choice) with a long sleeve white ted baker shirt, our 7 year old son wants to wear exactly the same as his dad so he will be wearing a jacket too (I tried to talk him into wearing a waist coat instead but he knows best lol) The grooms men are all wearing short sleeved linen shirts and the same colour (sand), style linen trousers as my FI.

My FI will be changing straight after photos and will be changing into a short sleeved linen shirt.

What a neat idea!  This idea goes right along with our "non traditional wedding" excuse theme!  Like I've mention in another thread, this is what we tell people when explaining that we are foregoing or shortening traditional events such as the cocktail hour (credit will be used toward reception dinner) and a 4 hour reception.  Thanks EJ2013!

We picked out our dresses for bridesmaids at Davids Bridal.  They are strapless, satin and short...very pretty.  We also picked out tuxes from Mens Wearhouse.  They are all wearing Calvin Klein grey tuxes with vests that match their coordinating bridesmaid (champagne, light blue, cornflower blue, royal blue and navy blue).  We are getting married in October.  It isn't traditional beachy wedding wear, but FI really wanted a tux, so it all worked out!

Hi everyone!  I just found this site and love all of the great ideas! It's good to know that other people have had a hard time getting responses from Pilar.  After a few weeks, we finally found out our date is available! (February 8th, 2014) I filled out all of the credit card auth forms a few days ago- but still haven't heard anything from her.  Has anyone else had this problem/ or heard from her this week? I want to start getting "save the dates" ready but I want to know we have that date for sure.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
