Guestbook idea for small guest count?

Recommended Posts

Not set on this yet .... But we like the postcard idea. We are visiting our resort this January, so I will pick up postcards while down there. I'm going to include them in our welcome bags with a note explaining what to do. (I stole this idea from another bride) The note will read something like: "when you get a chance, or when you get home, please send us a postcard. Tell us your favorite memory from the trip or a wedding wish. We will be using these post cards as our guest book, so be sure to complete and send one. (I will have added postage to the postcard) The only thing that is pulling me away from this idea is the peoe may forget to send them and then I won't have any guest book.... We will see :)

I am thinking of making one or more wine bottle labels with our logo and 1st yr, 5yr, 10 yr and 20 yr anniversary. I'llbuy a black bottle of wine and have guests sign it with a silver pen. I may only do one bottle depending on whether i buy them at home or when I get there. Something different. I know I'll never look at the guest book again so why not be creative. I"ll definitely enjoy drinking the wine. LOL

With some vintage postcards that I found at the local shops.

And I plan to have a pocket camera that can print pictures out instantly so that the guests can attach pictures of them beside the envelopes (have no idea yet), and I will pre-attach some envelopes into the guestbooks.

We are back from our wedding and our guest book was the message in a bottle idea....I am wishing now that perhaps we had done something different, although I am not sure if that would have helped our guests out either. We had our guests go for cocktails at a close-by bar for the 2 and a half hours we did pictures, and lets just say they drank....a lot! LOL! Some of the messages we got were nice and heartfelt, others were weird and somewhat inappropriate. We had people think it was not our real guestbook - not sure what would have led them to that thought, so we even offered to let people read what they wrote two days later and write something new if they wanted to but everyone said "nah, its ok."

Here is a pic of what we had set up to explain to people what to do, our emcee even read it out loud to everyone so they knew!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
