Josephine,  your invitations are GORGEOUS!!!!  I really love them!

VERY good idea to spell out the details in multiple locations about the group reservation.  I would just caution you to make sure everyone understands all this if you are trying to achieve a certain number of booked rooms.  We only have our immediate family attending and the smallest amount of rooms we could guarantee for a group rate was 5.  We checked with everyone to make sure they were definitely coming, explained why were needed this commitment before we signed the group agreement, and confirmed we had 6 rooms.  I wasn't totally sure about the 6th one so I made a group agreement for 5.  After spelling this all out on our website and in multiple emails, my fiance's sister went and booked with her travel agent AND took their mother's room and booked it on her reservation too.  So we lost TWO rooms and dropped under our group agreement.  I was really freaking out and she was soooo difficult to work with to get it resolved.  It ended up, after days of arguing with her, that she cut 3 days off their reservations (that's what our group ressie was for) and booked through my travel agent.  She just kept insisting our travel agent was trying to rip her off and that was just so not the case.  So it is worked out now but it was a very long, stressful week of worry, phone calls, emails, and nastiness!!

Thank for the advice. Our guests have already received our save the dates and been on our website and facebook invite which has all the details for the resort. So far, we have about 17 or 18 rooms booked and I only needed 15 to obtain the free wedding package. I know a couple of our guests have booked elsewhere, but that's ok.

Also, I did not have any rooms blocked so I did not need to put any deposits down. We told everyone early enough to book their rooms. Also, my travel agent works with funjet so they have a lowest price guarantee. We are refunded the difference when the price drops, which it has twice already!

i may have to steal your paragraph about gifts.... i was wondering how to word this as we didnt want any gifts but family is still asking where we are registering, but i felt putting where we were registered on our invite would be rude to be people who thought spending the money to attend is enough (which it is). I want them to know its ok.

Good thinking about telling them about the group rates. We decided to book our cruise seperately rather than as a group because we wont likely have enough people to make it worthwhile  for the groups.

Also  it is a lot more of a hassle when you book the cruise as a group as opposed to individually because the bride ends up doing a lot of the middle work!

"TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, THANK YOU. IT MEANS THE WORLD TO US TO HAVE YOU HERE. THANK YOU FOR BEING OUR SUPPORT SYSTEM. OUR ENCOURAGEMENT. OUR PARTNERS IN CRIME. I actually used alot of this wording. Thanks so much! Here is something else we added to our wedding welcome page that I found somewhere:

"We definitely look forward to sharing our special day with you in Los Cabos, Mexico! We understand this trip is a commitment and expense, and we realize not everyone will be able to make the trip. But we will know that your love is with us on our wedding day, nevertheless!

So, here's to ocean tides, beautiful sunsets and tequila! "

Thanks for sharing this was so helpful! We had a lot of people that were confused too, they thought the double occupancy rate was the price for two people and didn't understand that each person and room had to pay the price quoted.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
